The store is well stocked and we're glad we came during the off season. Safe travels.

Decent service. Many sites spaced out more than a typical koa. However, having just spent some time coming down the Oregon Coast, staying at Oregon State parks along the way as a comparison, it’s hard to give this camp more than a 3 star rating. There are some pretty sites here but since we couldn’t pick one of those and, given the clouds of dust settling over everything, we’d skip this campground next time.

We stayed for 3 nights while visiting Redwoods National Park. We have stayed in a lot of KOA campgrounds and like the good locations and full hook-ups. This KOA had a lot of trees and was very pleasant. The owners are doing a lot of work refurbishing the campground and upgrading the overall campground. The entry road into the KOA had a lot of potholes in it - so be prepared for some bumps coming and going in and out of the campground right onto highway 101.

Stayed here last May...I really liked camping in the trees. It wasn't very crowded. It's the only KOA I stayed at on the pacific coast.

However, this one has a little wooded loop that is amongst Redwood stumps and such and I wonder how you get those sites...?They rent recumbent trikes so be prepared for lots of kids going crazy around the CG. We stayed here in early March, shortly after they had opened for the season. Sites were of usual width for a KOA. Given the campground was largely empty, it still felt very spacious. Sites were of usual width for a KOA. Given the campground was largely empty, it still felt very spacious. Our site was on the grass, a level and easy pull-thru spot with full hookups, though we didn't use water / sewer as we were camping dry to avoid the risk of freezing.This KOA was a surprisingly pleasant campground - with goats and chickens! It's pretty remote and has a mix of open areas and a second growth forest with some of their own redwoods growing there among the stumps of their parents, cut down by loggers many years ago. It has a nice mix of different campsite types, with plenty of options for tent campers as well, back in the trees. It's also very close to Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park (less than 15 minutes) where you can conveniently visit the really big trees and go for nice walks in the woods.The bathrooms were pleasant and very clean, which we appreciated. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again, even though it's not a destination resort, because it is so convenient to the Redwoods and price competitive with the state park while offering more amenities. We had acceptable Verizon cell service here, though we can't recall the number of bars. We were a few days too early for this mighty beautiful park up the road where every site was surrounded by the redwoods, so we ended up here instead. I won't go on and on about how a KOA should have this or at least that or a bit more...wait there I go. However, you can hop back into the forest behind the kampground and voila, tons of big beautiful reddies. I love them. You should too. Do you not? Why? Are you a treeist? Treeism died in the 70s for pine's sake man!If you do dig trees, they also have a sequoia hiding somewhere. If you know what to look for, it shouldn't be too hard to find. Or if you don't care, that's cool too. Just saying.
