Beautiful view of the Gulf and mangroves from the marina dock. All services were excellent! Manager was a great guy and very helpful. Was concerned about T-mobile cell service but have 2 bars of 5G

The sunsets are spectacular along with the stargazing, but the FISHING was out of the world. Cell service is hit or miss, but we were happy to disconnect for a bit. The rec hall has a full kitchen if you want to cook with an oven or if you are a tenter and need to store some cold items. The staff is super friendly! We had two dogs that we camped with and did not have any problems. We are definitely coming back again and probably again after that. I already told my father who is an avid fisherman and loves camping. Also, if you don't camp they have rental units available as well.

  • Watch out for your dog.

It is a combination seasonal, transient RV park and marina. So there is a constant flow of boats launching and recovering along with RVs arriving and leaving. The spacing between sites is extremely tight even by southern Florida standards. However, the real issue is their lack of control of dangerous, aggressive dogs (and their owners). During our two week stay, there were two unprovoked attacks on dogs being walked on leash. One of the attacks was on our 19 pounds, 14-year-old. A pit bull mix came out of a space between sites and latched on to her. It took four men to get the pit bull to release her. It almost killed her and resulted in thousands of dollars of emergency veterinarian bills.

  • Peaceful, friendly, a unique experience

We camped here during the Christmas holidays so things were very quiet. The long-term campers and vacation renters were very cordial and friendly. Chokoloskee (pronounced Chuckuluskee by locals) is a very unique part of Florida. Indulge in the local history and visit the old store before you leave. Seafood restaurants are great and understandably pricey. We almost booked a spot for next Christmas while we were there but decided to explore a bit. We will certainly go back and look forward to it.
