The staff is friendly, but the sites aren’t the best. We have been coming here for 4 years and love the place and the people we met. This campground was sold by the Gladwell family to Cover Communities at the end of 2020. Prices have since doubled and services have been reduced as reported by guests who have been there this past summer. We will not be returning.

The facility was full as it was the beginning of lobster season but the other guests were friendly and in good spirits! The staff were great, showers clean, no swimmable beach there but other great spots a close drive away. The spots were good size and the hook ups worked well with no problems. Our only complaint was the sand fleas were terrible but that isn’t something they can control.

The pool was really nice. The entry/exit with the chain was kind of annoying. The staff seemed glad to cut back on amenities "because of Covid" instead of trying to find a way to make something out of it. We felt like we overpaid.

I drycamped in the tent section surrounded by bay water. Some construction going on due to damage by hurricane Irma. Although you can hear traffic noise my site was very secluded and peaceful. Enjoyed key deer visits
Love the place. Great ambiance.

That said, I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the keys. It was a month of afternoon swims in the pool, launching the kayak from the sun beach, roasting marshmallows in the firepit on the water each evening, walking the miles of private trails, and enjoying friendly staff and neighbors. Bahia Honda is a quick drive north (east) and Key West is a 45 minute drive south (west). Oh, and the internet actually works. We signed up for our free month of Netflix and binged House of Cards. AT&T 4G LTE also worked great. Our rate was monthly, nightly rates are $69.
