If you want to spend some time in Central Florida but want to avoid the crowds, Cross Creek RV Resort might be the answer. It's an easy drive to Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. This is not a place where you are going to stop for a night while on the road. It's a destination. We stayed here for two weeks visiting friends. You have to make your reservations in advance to get a spot. However, with the opening of a new section, you might be able to snag a spot in season. This place is what you expect a nice RV Resort to be like. It has all the expected amenities, a pool, hot tub, club house, library, card room, craft room, etc. There are weekly activities. The Friday morning breakfast and Friday afternoon pool parties are recommended. Most of the RV sites are gravel with paved patios. This does vary a bit within the park. Some of the sites in the newer section were all gravel. Still, all are neat and clean. About 50% of the spots have Park Models on them, some newer, some older. But all were kept up and clean. There is WiFi if you want to pay for it. Over the air TV was excellent. Verizon was also excellent. In Arcadia, there is a Publix, Winn Dixie and a Walmart Supercenter, so you could do your everyday shopping easily. If you needed more, it's an easy run into a larger town on the coast. All in all, this is a friendly resort. We met a lot of new people and enjoyed the activities, the February sunshine, and the pool.
