Some driveway turns are narrow for anything longer than 32'. We chose which drive would best suit us. We also had to move one site over due to mud which we had to use 4x4 to get out of. Big minus is only gray water discharge pipe which we couldn't use due to trailer design. They have 2 dump stations but are a bit difficult to maneuver into. We were in a back-in with plenty of space, semi-gravel/grass, good utilities. We were there late May just before the season would start which is after May 31st. We didn't spend much time in camp as CT offers a lot to see all around. This camp seems to be designed for CT vacationers and seasonals; lots of activities for youngsters & oldsters alike. Playground equipment is what you would find at an upscale school or city park. Large pavillion, game room with lots of electronic games, separate recreation hall, tennis, horseshoes etc. Decent sized pool (too cold for us). Driveway into sites is gated with key card that is difficult to place into the slot from drivers window - you'll have to either get out or open the door to place the card exactly into the slot - it is not a "proximity" card reader. Staff was accommodating when we petitioned to move one site over. The CG is probably a zoo during the peak summer months, so if partying is your thing then this is the place. Otherwise, off-season is nice & quiet.

We chose this site due to its location near Gillette’s Castle State Park. We also turned around and left for another campground. Full of seasonal and poorly maintained. One look at the facilities told us it wasn’t for us!
Not really big rig friendly

Check in was quick and we paid the $10 deposit to get a gate key. We then proceeded into the short term area to get to W & E site 48 for our 3 nights stay. The corner to the site was tight and I had to back up to swing wider to get onto the road. Then getting into back up site 48 was hard due to a pavilion and group BBQ across the narrow street. We ended up turning around and coming back to the site from the opposite direction. With the help of a couple of campers who moved vehicles and picnic tables, we were able to turn our 39’ fifth wheel into the site. Sites have grey water dumps, which was nice plus there was a honey wagon service. We received a few OTA channels and got 1 to 2 bars on Verizon and AT&T. WiFi worked pretty well for a CG of this size. We were amazed at how large this CG was with mostly seasonal residents. There seemed to be some available short term sites in the far back of the CG that would have been more private and not in the “party cove” where we were up front. The party cove was not all that bad as campers were having fun over the weekend and obeyed quiet hours. We had some difficulty getting out of our site to turn right so we didn’t have to make the sharp turn again. People across the way had to move their vehicle and we had to back up and adjust several times to get out because of an electrical box and big rock right across the narrow road. Unless you are on the outside row towards the office in 62-65, I would be hesitant to bring in anything longer than 36’.

We did something we have never done before: Entered a campground and immediately turned around to leave. Crowded, dirty, muddy sites, poorly run, and full of seasonal campers that really crapped the place up, in our opinion. In the management’s favor, they did give us a full refund.
Quiet and woodsy - convenient to Gillete Castle and Goodspeed Opera

Camping Date 9/20/2018. Very nice spot that is very quiet. The park is rather huge and you cant tell until you drive in or look at a map. All sites have cable TV as well as electric for 30A or 50A. No sewer, but there does seem to be a lot of gray water dump spouts that can be used. Be careful with some of the back camp sites as the road is steep, meaning not easy to get into and out of if you have a camper over 40 feet. They have discounts for PASSPORT AMERICA and if you get on the mailing list you will also find they send out further discounts days or weekends.
