This is nice KOA right on the Colorado river. The spots riverside are premium with patio’s facing the river. There is a good size dog park with grass. For the kids, there is a water playground which might be fun for the kids during hotter weather.Caution! Make sure to have a water regulator. The water pressure is up to 80 PSI.

It's located on the edge of the Colorado River, which is really beautiful. Sunset this evening was really nice. Checkin went smoothly and the electrical pole worked well. I didn't use water or sewer that is available. Fairly level site and easy to maneuver in the park. Verizon service was good and the WiFi was fast enough for streaming. I'm traveling in a 26' travel trailer. The only ding for this campground is a low level of noise from the highway, gas station that is next door, and the train, but with the windows closed, it didn't bother me.

Not far from I-70 with very minimal road noise, an occasional train went by but didn’t hear it either. Good spacing between sites, concrete patio, picnic table with chairs and a fire ring.Cable TV has about 60 channels, advertised wi-fi worked excellent, Verizon 4G was 3 bars.Bath house (multiple available) reasonably clean, poor shower water pressure and water was barely warm. Laundry (multiple available) nice, 2 washers/dryers.

We just saw alerts on Facebook RV sites warning that I-70 is closed in this area both directions INDEFINITELY due to heavy rain and major damage. We immediately called Silt-Colorado River KOA and they said they will not refund our prepayment. We explained the road closure and they said they are aware but will not refund our payment because it was not cancelled at the 48 hour point. Yes, it was a few hours difference but the state of Colorado is announcing all trucks/large RV’s should re-route and avoid the entire area. All the other RV parks (including a different KOA where we gave less than a day’s notice) we called on our route were super helpful and kind so this was very disappointing to find this kind of attitude especially from a KOA which are usually above average in customer service.Unfortunately, this is not one of the helpful ones.

When we arrived, I inquired about getting one of my propane tanks refilled, and was told I could leave it on the edge of our campsite and they would take care of it, which was really convenient. We stayed in site #18, a pull-through in the larger section of campsites to the right of the office (there is a smaller section of back-in sites to the left of the office). All of the roads and pads are gravel. The sites are grass but with a concrete patios with built-in fire rings and picnic tables. The more expensive site, particularly those along the river, have much larger patios with seating, propane grills, and covered pavilions. I witnessed campground staff cleaning the grills after the site occupants left. They have a fenced-in dog park with a pergola and seating for humans, though the fence was a bit thin (thicker than chicken wire, but definitely not as substantial as chainlink fencing). Even though we didn’t use the dog park, there were plenty of grassy areas to walk our dogs, particularly along the river: behind and below the river campsites is a walking trail that leads to the area behind the office and to a little wooden bridge leading to a small island. There is also a splashpad and a swimming pool behind the office (neither were in use yet).I-70 is still visible from the campground but the noise wasn’t bad. Between the campground and the frontage road leading to i-70 is a gas station with diesel pumps and a large convenience store: the tall sign for the gas station is a bit of a distraction at night. Otherwise the scenery is beautiful, with mountains in all directions. In terms of cell service, the best speeds I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna during our stay were 35Mbps down and 15Mbps up, and we had no issues streaming video. The one speed test I performed on my AT&T phone showed 60Mbps down and 7Mbps up. We would stay there again if we were in the area.

I upgraded to the patio site, not sure if it was worth it. However, this KOA is pretty nice and has a short walking trail to the river which was nice for the dog. I think the back in river sites are nice. Camped here in August and there was little shade.

We had a "little river" site that backed up to the tributary off the main Colorado River. The site was pretty spacious compared to other KOAs I've stayed at. However, this was a more premium site and some of the other sites looked a little tight. There are even better sites that back up the the main river that have two patios, a fire pit, and furniture. Those were NICE sites and in my opinion worth the extra $$$. Our site was great though and it was perfectly level! First time ever at any campground that we were perfectly level. The whole campground is very pretty and I liked being next to the little stream. There seemed to be a lot of amenities such as a splash pad and pool, but we didn't use them. There is also a nice trail down the river. The only downside is the campground is really close to the I-70 and it was noisy 24/7. There was also a train that came by twice during the night and woke me up. I still give it 5 stars because of the beauty and the nice site we had.

With the pool already closed for the season the water play area was active but not an issue since for the most part we were gone enjoying the local area and heck, kids gotta have fun. Rifle Falls State Park is a short drive and well worth it, but get there early, there was a line of cars waiting to get in for a parking spot when we left. We had great wifi with decent AT&T LTE.

Went during covid so some things were closed (pool, bathrooms) but thankfully the splash pad was opened. That thing is really nice! They are building a tiny home community just north of the western most sites. The construction noise was overwhelming at times and you can hear the highway pretty easily in our site but we knew the highway part before we went. We were unaware of the construction and wished we were pushed back further from them for our stay as they worked every day we were there for the 4 days, even Sunday. The grounds are extremity well kept and there was never a sight of garbage or litter on the grounds. The sites are very large and we saw some really big RVs in there. The water pressure was really good and it was nice and clean. The wifi was surprisingly strong, even when the park filled completely up on Saturday night. Really nice walking areas around the river in the back. We were happily surprised to see a bald eagle flying by, my 2 year old daughter thought it was an airplane it was so big! Cell service with Sprint/T-mobile was fine.

We had a deluxe site on the river, and we did think it was worth the price. Our site, in particular, had a lot of room around it, since we were on the end where the river makes a kind of eddy. The downside to this is that many people want to come down to the water, so we had people walking by, which set our dogs to barking. We ended up having to lock them in the bedroom with no line of sight to the beautiful view! Everything is spotless and very, very well kept up. A nice table with real chairs, not a picnic table, under a pergola. A couple of nice Adirondack chairs by the fire pit for viewing the river. There is a common "right of way" that is about 50 ft wide between the sites and the river. Folks were fly-fishing out there, and some kids were playing. Lots of dog walking. So it wasn't tremendously private...but really, it's a KOA not a public land campground, so that's to be expected. This campground is not far off of the highway, so noise from 70 continues through the night. The water noise sort of cancelled it out, but not completely. If you were not in a water site, it would be very noisy. The campground keeps tight rein on noise from other campers, though. This is a great place to stay if you are traveling along the I-70 corridor, and/or if you want to spend time around Grand Junction. It's not a destination in and of itself...at least not for us.We would definitely stay here again, and we'd spring for the deluxe site again.

We started full-timing in our 5th wheel trailer just a few days before we rolled into Glenwood Springs. We didn't have an advanced reservation because we were rookies and didn't realize Colorado was so popular during July. We had problems with our F350 towing up and down the mountains and we literally rolled into the KOA at 35mph on Ford's "limp mode". Needless to say, we looked pretty sad when they informed us all the spots were taken. The lady came running back out as we were pulling away and asked if we would like to park in their overflow field. We gladly accepted and paid $34 for the night. The following night they had a spot open up so we moved to a full hoopkup (50amp, water, sewer) site for $59.Showers/restrooms are very nice and protected by a key code. There's a dump station near the front by the office if you need it.

Site had concrete patio covered with a beautiful gazebo metal table with cute metal chairs, a nice propane BBQ, and a great fire pit ring with chairs all nicely arranged. Our spot W7 had a nice wide space to the driver side of us with grass and a great view of the river out every window. RV site was gravel and dirt was level needed less than an inch to get completely level. With the gazebo and some bushes on the utility side the spot for the rig was a little narrow. With our 31’ trailer we could not find a location that we liked and still be able get our awning all the way out with the gazebo. We were able to get our awning out a little to block the morning and midday sun. The roads in the park are mostly dirt but if people show respect and drive slow it’s not an issue. My wife used the laundry in the office building and said they were very nice they do close at 6pm though. Plenty of length in the spot to park our truck once disconnected however the sprinklers are not well adjusted and our truck was covered in hard water spots every morning no matter how I parked it. It is right off the highway so there is some noise but it was not obnoxious. They were building a gas station right in front of the campsite so I imagine when this is finished the noise and dynamic could change for the spots that are close to the front of the park. The staff were all very nice and constantly working to clean and groom the park. It’s is mostly gravel dirt and weeds mowed to represent grass. WiFi was decent. We enjoyed our stay.

Currently, we are full-time, location independent, perpetual travelers, roaming around North America. We have chosen this campground location due to its proximity to Aspen Ski Resort weekend's closing festivities. Not that Glenwood Springs is all that close to the Aspen Mountains, but then again, most of the other campground, especially those within the national forests are still closed during our stay.Arriving to the location, we selected a premium spot right on the water that extended our outdoor area. the basics were provided such as 30/50 amp services, sewer and water. The premium part included cable, gazebo with table and chairs and a propane BBQ with propane. Additionally was the extra large fire pit with adirondack chairs. That said, our AT& T was blazing here for some reason:))))The layout of the river spaces, staggered, to take advantage of privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed and very much took advantage of the outdoor spaces. We being Colorado residents, we appreciated the 40-degree nights with such a huge fire pit, pushing loads of heat our way. To boot we had the sounds of the river and the surrounding geese to keep us interested. The property had a significant amount construction as they were almost doubling the premium spots along the river. That said, the rest of the property amenities were still closed up from the recently passing winter season. The premium spaces were really fun, although the rest of the property, in my opinion was pretty much average. Not that it's a bad thing; its just our feeling when comparing with our many other camping locations.RATING - CAMPING MET OUR EXPECTATIONSIf you would be interested in reading about the locations mentioned within this camping review, our near death experiences, our close calls, our lessons learned on the road, our campground reviews or about our top secret free camping locations, be sure to follow us...Destination Dupont - InstagramDestination DuPont - FacebookWWW.DestinationDuPont.com - WebsiteCAMPED APRIL 2018POSTED SEPTEMBER 2018

Glenwood Springs is just 17 miles away. Local restaurants in Silt is just a 5 min drive. Great WFI. High water pressure so make sure you have a regulator.

The Good - Location was excellent, right off of I-70. Easy check in and very friendly staff! The property itself was gorgeous, right along the Colorado River. There are lots of trails and pathways for kids to explore and access to great fishing. You didn’t feel crammed into a spot - plenty of room that you didn’t feel on top of your neighbors. The bathrooms and showers were very nice and maintained. The Bad - The only thing I’d like to see is that the pool was better maintained. One of the hottest days of the year and it was closed most of the day because it was murky and cloudy. They finally opened late evening after enough people complained.

The city this location is in small but seems to have a few services and events. Rifle is the closest city with a Walmart and restaurants, etc (the Thai place is great).Amenities at this KOA was pretty good. They have done a lot of upgrades so some of the sites on the river have nice coverings, BBQs, fire pits, etc. We had a pretty nice back-in site next to the dog park, 24 hour laundry and bathrooms. The space was probably almost 90 feet long - plenty of space. Getting in and out was really easy as well. The dog park is great! A huge grassy space for the dogs to run around. The laundry near us was small but there is another one at the front office. Really new building and new machines, worked well. The pool was closed the first night we were there, but then opened and really great. Not much shade, but a great way to cool off. Many people at this KOA are just in and out and quite a few tent campers too, but it was wonderful.Office had movies to check out, plenty of games and snacks if needed. The staff here was SO great! My kids enjoyed going up to the office to play pool or watch some TV and everyone was very accommodating and helpful to them. On the way out my son even wanted to stop at the front office and take a picture with some of his favorite staff people. This is pretty close to the highway which is good for access but a little noise at night. Nothing too much, but it is not remote and quiet if you are looking for that.Wifi worked well and was really fast but we had problems with Amazon Prime Video streaming or downloading on it. Cell signal was good on ATT.

It's like a McDonald's...you know what you are going to get.The exception for this KOA is the fastest campground WiFi I have ever seen. I was being a good RVer and was using my Verizon Jetpack which gave me a measly 1 Mbps down (despite of having 4 bars of 4G). I decided to hook up to the campground WiFi and ran a speed test. Apparently they use Comcast Business class (according to the speed test) and I got 30 Mbps down., Wow. The Jetpack was immediately turned off.We had hoped to stay two nights, but were surprised to find they were booked up for rigs our size. So you may want to call ahead. The pool had just been closed, but the hot tub was still open. It was a nice 103 degrees. The cable TV was analog cable (i.e. not very crisp). But we had 59 channels. If you are looking for a channel lineup, put in Comcast as the provider. The bathrooms looked clean. There is free coffee in the office in the mornings, but no decaf. Oh well.We would stay here again if in the area.

We had one of the "premier" patio lots and must say I believe it was the best site in the park. At the end of the park next to the dog park which was great for our beagles. The site backed up to the flowing river and deer came to the other side bank to drink. There are several eagles in a nearby tree. The site included a covered eating area with metal table and chairs as well as a gas grill and fire pit with seating. Owners and help very friendly. Nice store with necessities as well as wood for a fire. Road noise from Rt 70 a bit noisy at times depending on direction of wind but otherwise very enjoyable.

The campground is pretty nice for a KOA, with long and wide sites with lots of grass between sites, and generally attractive. There's a pretty large fenced dog park, and the park is right along the Colorado River so our dog was able to do a little swimming as well. The free WiFi ranged from very slow to unusable. The only real downside is the proximity to I-70, but we found the highway noise to be fairly quiet and not a problem. We'd stay again if we are looking for a site in the area.

The campground is VERY easy to access off the freeway. The entry is a bit odd as you have to block the IN when you are registering (no parking lot or pull off area). All of the campground roads are gravel and the sites are quite level. There are trees and grass but both are not mature and will be much better in a few years. Be aware, that there is road noise here from the freeway. We didn't think it was bad and it didn't prevent any of us from sleeping. The playground was reasonable and did provide entertainment for our daughter and several other kids at the campground. The Kamp K9 here is huge. Our pup loved having an area that was large enough for us to really throw a ball and place fetch. If you have a larger dog that really needs to stretch, several people were using the field next to the campground. Both times that we stayed here the pool was broken. Unfortunately for us this was the primary reason that we booked this campground. Having booked in advance we had no option to not stay here unless we wanted to loose money. The registration staff was not friendly and totally un sympathetic regarding the pool issues. They were very robotic in their process, repeating the EXACT info for both sites that we were checking in at the same time (Garbage here, pool there, drive this way, etc.). They offered no escort to the site and no assistance getting settled. We ask the staff for some dinner recommendations in the area and they could provide no information. We got on TripAdvisor and found some great places in Glenwood Springs. If we come back through this area, we will be staying in the Glenwood Springs or Grand Junction and would only stay here again for the large dog area or if there was nothing else available.
