I understand that it is winter, but everything is closed including the restrooms. Like, we can’t go potty somewhere else. We have to go in the RV. That seems like the most basic thing a “resort” should have. We could not get ahold of anyone during our check in. We went as far as to go knock on the door of the RV marked “employee parking”. We could not fit into our originally assigned spot so we had to pick another one. We were unable to tell any staff that we did that. The map was marked with a not very effective way to pull into the RV spot which made the entire experience frustrating. The ONLY good thing about this trailer park is there’s internet and cell service.

Road traffic and current nighttime freeway construction noise can be disruptive. It depends upon the site you get. We emailed for reservation and heard nothing. We showed up without reservation and got a site for 10 nights. However, site so narrow could not open awning and where we were directed to park required 4 wheel drive to back out. No real outside space since our site was encroached upon by monster RV next site over.

It's a fairly large place with sites close together, situated among the pines on a hillside. This was our second visit to the park: once in a 28 ft travel trailer and once in our 38 ft class-A motor home. Most of the sites are 30 Amp service; but they've recently opened up an area on top of the hill that offers 50 amp service. If you're going to Colorado Heights in a big rig, make sure you ask for one of the 50 amp sites up on top of the hill; and, if you reserve well advance you must call again a few days before arrival to remind them you want a 50 amp site!Verizon and AT&T cell service was acceptable; but, our Sprint MiFi hotspot was amazing, with download speeds of over 100 Mbps!

  • Not Big Rig friendly and roads within park difficult to navigate. WiFi coverage spotty.

They are narrow for big Class A or large 5th wheels. Sites are dirt with gravel. Most sites are 30amps with water and sewage. No cable connections. Satellite spotty if in the trees. Water pressure is adequate. Campground has on site pool and small playground. There is residential hot tub but no dog park/walk and no dog waste stations.Colorado Heights is associated with Coast to Coast and listed as a premier campground. They do not seem to be accepting any more memberships but non-members have different rates.. There is a premium to be paid for 50amp sites for members and non-members..

There was a camp host, but they didn't answer the one time that I knocked on their door. The road through is VERY narrow with trees right up to it, and you bend one way then the next around the trees. Pretty tight for a large modern rig. We are 102" wide with a 35' long trailer (52' combination) and I don't think I would want to be more then a few feet longer going through some of those bends. Some of the sites weren't well laid out with weird approach angles. We finally found a nice private spot in the trees, but we had to come back up one of the loops the wrong way, and had to pull into the empty space across the road to back into it. Then we found out the water in that area was shut off for the season, but we had a full tank and so we just enjoyed the spot. The park felt aged. Maybe in the summer when they have staff there and things are fully open it has a better feeling.Close to the interstate you can hear it. As I remember it so-so cell.[Actual stay was 10/27/16]
