The road up/down the hill was narrow, spaces were very close together, the ground was overrun with weeds, the wifi only worked in the game room, they didn’t have any grass or shaded area for the dogs or chairs and the so called grounds security was beyond rude. He scolded us and the people next to us for moving a rock to park the rig without hitting it. He made bad things worse.

They also have beautiful small 1 bedroom cabins which is great for people who don’t have a camper or tent.

They go above and beyond with options like offering power adapters if needed (we did not but thought it was a nice touch.) The park is pet friendly. It is small and quiet. When we visited mid-October it was not busy. Close to Black Canyon of the Gunnison and national recreation area. Views are beautiful from the sites. We planned to stay 3 nights but added another as we didn't want to leave. Their internet was actually fast enough to do work and stream video. If you are a verizon prepaid customer take note that this area is roaming. We hope to visit again! (Price reflects Passport America rate which is 50% off.)

The staff here is incredibly nice and accommodating, and will go above and beyond you make you feel happy and to make sure you have what you need. (Example- offering to open a closed Game Room so we could work for a little while in peace and with good internet.) The RV sites are right along a ridge that overlooks a beautiful section of the reservoir with the mountains behind it. We spent so much time just staring out into the beautiful view. You can tell that they are working to make this park even more beautiful, as the first 5 sites have really nice brand new picnic table/fire pit areas with a wood partition that separates you from the people next to you. One thing to note- the sites alternate directions, so look at the map and choose a site that will have you facing the direction you want to face. We were fortunate that we chose a site that allows our large back window to face the reservoir view. With that being said, the view from every direction is beautiful. Definitely will stay here again, and will bring our kayaks for the reservoir. If internet is important to you, then take not that the higher the number of your spot, the closer you are to their connection. We couldn't get much signal from site 2, but the cell signal was strong enough to use our Verizon hot spots for working. The internet speeds near the office are roughly 20-25 megs down, and about 10 up.

By no means are we experienced RV’ers and that was seen while setting up our camper last night. We could not get our trailer to level for the life of us! So I decided (mostly on impulse) to ask the gentleman, that brought our firewood, what he would do. He not only gave us excellent advice, but had our camper leveled in no more than 15 mins! He was so kind to us and we greatly appreciate him! The lady working in the office at the time of our check in was so very helpful and extremely nice! No matter how the remainder of our trip goes, they will get an excellent review!

Owners were fantastic and full of information that they happily provided.Pros: Great views, plenty of room to maneuver my 33 foot trailer into spot 10 (nearly all spots are pull throughs, with some back-ins planned for the near future). The water is the best tasting I’ve had at any park and I later learned it’s because the owners treat it well). Also has a laundry room, free use shower and an incredible game room with tv, arcade, pool and family games galore. Cons: Mainly just that we had no ATT signal but that’s because the park is in a national forest. However, free WiFi is provided and though it had ups and downs, it worked great for streaming. There is also a steep and windy gravel hill to get into the place but if my half ton and 33 footer can make it, anyone can.

Amazing water and mountains views + full hook-ups + PA rate = a REALLY good value!! This small well-kept campground has 12 full hook-up sites. The sites are on grass, dirt, and some gravel, each with its own picnic table. Nearby there is a multi-purpose building with a clean restroom, shower and one washer and dryer. The owners were helpful and provided excellent customer service. Blue Mesa Escape also has cabins, some that sleep four and others that sleep six. We decided to stay in one of the cabins and complete a project on our camper. The cabin was cute and very comfortable, featuring a living and dining area, a kitchen, a full bath and a separate bedroom. We had a great view of the water. We picked this area for a weekend visit, because our research showed a lack of both cell service and Wi-Fi. This is not a reflection on this RV Park, it is an area wide situation. If you need good cell reception and/or strong WiFi to work, this park and this area would not be a good choice during the week, so save it for the weekend. Blue Mesa Escape's Wi-Fi was enough to be able to check email and social media from time to time. As for celluar connectivity:T-Mobile was non-existentVerizon varied from 4 bars of Extended 1x to 3 bars of Extended 3GAT&T was the most consistent and “fastest” with 5 bars of HPSA + and data speeds of .23 Mb up and down.
