Easy access for the trailers as well. Quiet and convenient. We found it to be the perfect stop on our way south so stayed again two weeks later. We camped at the river but still love Elk Creek Trailers when traveling in our travel trailer. We camped at Elk Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Also has private showers which was great. Only complaint was that they close the showers at 8 pm every night. I have no idea why. They aren’t real heavily trafficked so it’s not a cleaning thing. Maybe Covid?? So that was a little disappointing since we like to shower late evening. There is also only the one restroom and shower location so if you are in the upper loop it’s kind of far to walk not to mention dark at night!Ladies who work at the front are wonderful, helpful and friendly. Overall wonderful experience and highly recommend

If you stay here get up early and drive to the coyote valley trail in RMNP and look for moose. We saw 3 while there. Nice flat gravel trail.

The upper loop is partial hookup, which makes the nightly rate of $50 quite steep, in my opinion. Particularly for such a small site. My 26' trailer wasn't a good fit; the truck had to be parked on the street. Wireless Service --- Cell service is great. T-mobile, Verizon, and AT&T all have strong signal here. Wifi in the sites is also quite usable. Verizon, while a very strong signal is present, lacked bandwidth. We loved this place so much! Really close to town and Rocky Mountain NP. Seriously loved it. There are moose and deer that frequent the campground, great spacing between most sites, a playground (closed cause Covid19), and showers and laundry room.

The Hookup sites are mostly separated by large shrubs and trees, but we were at site 28, which had marvelous views, but was right in line with 6 or so other sites. There was a nice grassy area around the site, but unfortunately it was rainy during the weekend, so it was a bit soggy. It was really nice how the firepit was far away from the pad, so I didn't fear burning up my awning. The site was fairly level, it was clean and easy to settle into. We didn't have anywhere to tie our hammock, but we made due :DSites1, 3 & 33 seem too close to the main building when you look at the map, and although you'd get everyone passing by, they were surprisingly private with lots of shrubs. I didn't like any of the sites 4-12, but I really liked 17, 18 & 20. All of the odd numbered sites on the inside of the loop had many trees and shrubs, and a large grassy area in the center. They seemd very nice, but you would be closer to others. 21,23,25 are all super close to eachother with no shade and little privacy. The spots on the outside of the upper loop were great, but the center spots had little tree or shrub coverage. I really loved spot 42 - it was way further away from any other spot, and it backed to a hill, and had amazing views. The con of that site is it is short, so better for a tent or small van RV. It also was surrounded by a fairly shallow ditch, so it wouldn't have worked for us with our small kids. We would have felt like we had to watch them too closely.I walked through the tent camping area, which is accessed via a couple of small bridges that go over the stream (they provide large wagons for getting your gear to your spot), and it is really cool. It's separate enough from the hookup sites that it allows quite a bit of privacy. The views from the tent only area are outstanding. Some of the sites are short, and since you don't get to choose your particular site if you book online, I would suggest calling to speak with one of the lovely owners who are truly hospitable, kind and helpful. If you check out their campground map, you can call them to request a spot when you reserve. The cabins were quite adorable from the outside. Small front porches with furniture. There are two small loops of cabins on one side of the campground, which created a private little neighborhood feeling. It would be quite awesome to have a larger group rent all the cabins in one loop. The other line of cabins are near the road and entrance to the park, but still have privacy. One evening, while carrying bags of trash to the dumpster, a father and his kids came out pointing to the Yearling Moose who had just practically walked into the kidscoming out of their cabin. Cool. The amenities are really nice, there is a large double sink for washing dishes (I saw quite a few guys cleaning their catch of the day), bathrooms with showers, a game room and TV room. If you are very close to the main building, you might get wifi at your spot. We didn't use the restrooms or showers, we used our rig, but we did tour them as we were leaving on Monday of the Holiday weekend at check out time. The shower area was nice, clean, spacious and seem like they would be very comfortable to use. Next time we camp there, I will use those big showers for sure, instead of the tiny trailer shower. The bathrooms could have been cleaner, they weren't dirty or gross, but to be fair, it was checkout, mid day on the last day of a three day weekend. The store they keep in the office is adorable! They have toys, food staples, cute little gifts and souvineers. The dump was perfectly located as you're pulling out, and was in good condition. The playground was nice, unfortunately muddy while were there, but we managed to play for a bit on Monday morning after it had dried a bit.The only complaint we had while there were the campers next to us, who were rude, loud, trashy, obnoxious and plain maddening. I'm positive under normal circumstances it would have been quiet and lovely, and in retrospect, we should have complained, because I'm pretty sure they would have done something to remedy the situation. It was so annoying, I've decided we're boondocking next time to avoid any annoying neighbors!!

We parked here in order to get into Rocky Mountain NP early the next morning. The playground was full of puddles, and not well designed to avoid such things. Bathrooms were clean enough. Otherwise, I nice spot for a quick overnight. There was enough space between sites.
