Everything else was booked in town but Ami’s had one spot left for our 36’ Class A. It’s not for rigs my size but we fit in. Cell signal was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. Looked like a lot of month to month folks here. It would be our last option if in town again. Right off the I-70 so lots of noise from it.

My site was level, no problem, but the approach and maneuvering around was a bit sketchy, but doable. Big rig DP could be a problem, but I did see one next to me. Noise was low, fairly good distance from the Interstate. An occasional train comes through, but again, about a half mile away from the tracks. When arriving, make sure you disconnect your toad before you drive up the hill to the check in office. The hill entry is quite riddled with potholes, they really need to be fixed. The place looks run down in general, but the utilities were great, they looked like they were recently replaced. All of these issues were tolerable, but not the bugs. These quarter inch flying bugs are everywhere, by the thousands. They are harmless, but they get inside the RV easily. They're call an Elderbox bug, Dark brown/black with an orange strip on the wings. One day we came back from an all day outing and killed at least 25 of them INSIDE the RV. They fly, but aren't very good at it. They're slow, easy to grab with a tissue, easier than swatting. We don't know how they're getting in our RV, maybe through the vent hole at the bottom of each window for condensation drainage. After leaving the campground and moving on to Frisco, CO, we are still finding these bugs in our RV, 4 days later! At night they go away, but during the day, OMG, unbelievable, crawling all over your windshield, looking for a way to get in. We won't come back, only because of the bugs. Any price is too much for the hassle of these pesky bugs.

We pulled into Ami's about sunset without a reservation and found a site the same day as our purchase. Being our first ever experience we had on rose colored glasses and loved the beauty of the canyon full of reds and greens looking out the window or walking outside. In retrospect, the sites were pretty much on top of each other but so what for an over nighter i'd highly recommend it or as a base camp to visit the area during the day. We use the 30 amp electrical hookup and sewer and water without issue. Didn't try WIFI or restrooms or showers or anything else except the dumpster. There were several sites that were obviously longterm (or forever) but we had no issues there.

Would recommend as a stop thru or even a weekend.

As others have said, this is an odd little campground, with each site literally terraced in to the side of the hill. Bring extra sewer hose. Water and electricity were fine. Water and electricity were fine. You have to be a mountain goat to get up to the bath house, and everything is on a slope. Bath house is old, but spotlessly clean. We did not have too much trouble leveling, but I can see how bigger rigs would. I personally would not come up here in anything much over 35 feet, but I saw bigger rigs. I would stay here again if necessary. There were some lovely views of the mountains though, and they are convenient to shopping and the hot springs.

Had a difficult time finding an RV park that wasn't full, so we ended up here. Welcome to summer in Colorado!Sites are full hookups, long and tiered but fairly close together and not very level. Dirt roads had lots of potholes but they were working on filling them. Restrooms are old but clean and a long walk up a steep hill, so we used our own. The park is very close to busy I-70 so there is traffic noise, worse if you get one of the lower sites. We were pretty high up on the hill so it was quieter. There are a lot of older, run down, permanent rigs parked there. It is just a few miles to Glenwood Springs so not a bad location if you want to visit but we would look for an alternative if we ever go back to that area.

Their website touts spacious sites, while they are long they are not wide. Right on top of your neighbors. All gravel, no grass. Nice trees so you get some shade. Water pressure very low. Tiered into the hillside right over I-70 so noisy during the day. But fine at night, we didn't hear anything while sleeping. The tent sites are awesome though. Wood shade structures, cinder block fire pits with wind block, electricity, and tables with chairs. Nice wood chip ground cover.Bathrooms very clean. Not my cup of tea but fine for a night.
