Trying to escape the summer sun? A great choice. It's adjacent to the Oregon Dunes and a couple of miles from a gorgeous long stretch of beach. It's a lovely campground, but rustic as most TT parks are. many of the roads are gravel, with some potholes, but not big, bad crack an axle types. With all of the trees, most of the sites feel very, very private. In our experience here at the beginning of June t's a quiet park. Another poster said it's not big rig friendly. I would rephrase that as only 20-25% of the spaces are large enough for a 40' rig, that still leaves a bunch of sites that are big-rig friendly, but if you arrive at 7 pm on a summer holiday you probably won't get one. There are lots of quite small spaces as well. The roads are tighter, but completely driveable, with no white knuckle skills needed. We parked up on the Hill (Section C) which is mostly tents and cabins but found a site (C30) that our Starlink dishy liked. It was very tight but close to the pool while being completely private. The site had 30 amp power, water, and sewer. It took me a half dozen attempts to get our rig level using leveling pads and some blocks we carry, in addition to our self-leveling jacks, but I will take that exchange any day of the week for a beautiful private site with good sun. Very few sites in this park are Starlink friendly (Maybe 5-8 for larger rigs?)The staff was very friendly and time we had a question. Packages are $5.00 for RV parts, medicines are free, you need to fill out a form ahead of time. Other packages are not accepted according to Ranger Briana. No USPS accepted. The pool was clean, heated, and large. There are also a kiddie pool and a hot tub. The first hour in the morning is reserved for lap swimmers (Yes it's big enough for legitimate lap swimming.) The laundry was clean and with lots of washers and dryers. Full though on a Saturday morning. There is an Activity Center and a deck overlooking the pool.Shopping a couple of miles away in Florence including a large Safeway for groceries.I took away one star for Site Access within the park and two for Site Quality since many sites aren't level and a bunch of sites are still flooded as of early June. Our T-Mobile phones were usually two, and sometimes three bars. Our T-Mobile and AT&T data reception in our Peplink router with a Mimo roof antenna for both four bars. Starlink was great at our site, but that is a rare exception in this park, at most sites, it would be a large paperweight. We look forward to returning.

It was secured and someone came in the middle of the night and slashed the straps and stole it from our truck and used the little hiking trail to walk it out. The manager admitted to me that some gas tanks had been stolen a few weeks before. When we arrived the first day, there wasn’t a single staff member in sight. That should have been our first red flag. This park is not big rig friendly. The only nice thing about this park is the nice sites surrounded by trees. But unfortunately due to lack of staff and too much privacy, it’s the perfect scene for someone to come check out what you have. WE WILL NOT BE BACK.

Not my kind of place.Trees means you most likely will not get a view of the southern sky - much needed for satellite reception. No sewer connection means you can't dump so you have to use the bath house for the toilet or showers or have a short stay or use a dump caddy or move to empty you tanks. All on my side of the CG were closed and 3 out of 4 were closed. It's usually cloudy, windy, misty and cold. So heat would be real nice. 30 amp and you can barely run one heat pump never mind two and with that you'll have to manage what you run. Close to the ocean but not walking distance and if you go to the state park you'll have to pay. They make you disconnect before looking for a site if you are towing a vehicle. And if you are single like m you are walking back to pick up for towed.Sites themselves were mixed as to size but most seemed fairly unlevel.Florence is a good sized town and is close. Plenty of shopping, restaurants and anything else you'll need. I had a week planned but lft after 2 nights.Staff were friendly enough I do wish they told be so many bath houses were not operational and I might have chosen a different location.Verizon worked well for me.

WiFi in the activity center was spotty. We had a new $600 bike stolen from our site and turned out there were many other thefts recently but we were not notified which would’ve helped keep us diligent to lock everything every night - it slipped our minds because of pouring rain! The park has great proximity to lots of amazing places to see, a great town, and many conveniences … but not sure it would work for our family to come again due to WiFi and lack of urgency to attend to thefts.

Lots are deep in the woods so internet and satellite are a no go. VERY dusty roads in the park. Pool was good but other amenities are old and run down. Main bathhouse has been remodeled. Park pad locks a gate blocking exit via the dump station until 8:00am. We were leaving at 7:00 and no one to call to get it opened. Had a run in with a ranger when we tried to dump, back up and exit prior to 8:00am. He did not like us backing up to exit on the main road. UGH! This rule, which there are many, was not posted. TT could be so nice if they would just upgrade the park!!

It's certainly not just a flat field with row after row of RVs. We were there during COVID, late in October, so really didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool or other amenities. We had both Sprint and AT&T internet service, and the number of bars was irrelevant. Both services were limited to about 4mbps, which was enough for most video meetings and light streaming.Close to downtown Florence with chain grocery stores (Safeway and Fred Meyer), good restaurants and numerous sights including the lighthouses. If you're someone who wants to ride offroad vehicles on the Oregon Sand Dunes, this is a great place to stay. While we were there, the staff informed of us of a broken water pipe and the water was shutoff to the bathrooms and all sites. The latest status was always posted at the campground entry, and within a few days, water was back on with a "boil water" order was in place, to make sure campers were safe while tests of the water were done. It wasn't the staff's fault that the pipe was broken, and they did what they could to take care of us.The bathroom and shower facilities, when working, were mostly clean and the hot water was adequate. Laundry facilities were clean, functional and reasonably priced. The campground entry is a little funky - with orange cones to separate out returning guests with those checking in - the cones are at a bit of an angle. This makes it especially narrow for longer rigs if you've taken your rig out to dump, but are returning through the (narrower) line for returning guests. It would be easy to hit the entry shack or at least run over cones, so be careful.

We arrived pretty late but the staff was nice and helpful. The layout is a bit confusing and the spots are difficult to get in to depending on which way you're going (most of the roads are 2 way). Huge place with lots of monster rigs. 30 and/or 50 amp service with water at all locations; a few have sewer but they were all occupied. Tons of amenities like laundry facilities, restrooms with hot showers, a pool, and hot tubs among others. Dune access is about a mile away and there are plenty of places in Florence to rent gas powered toys if you're into that. State parks and other attractions abound in the area as well.

We stay three nights from June 18th through 21st, 2020, at campsite E136, the stay was free due to our Thousand Trails membership. Our site had electricity and water hook up. The site was level and easy to back in to. Our site was very private with trees and bushes between our site and neighbors on each side. The E loop bathhouse was two spots down and up a flight of stairs. We were a couple of spaces from the dog run. The campground was at sea level and just a mile or so from Florence, Oregon, and a mile from the Oregon Dunes Recreation area. Once we entering the campground, the campground roads are all gravel, however we found the layout and map to be confusing as we got of directions down. This is a very quiet campground, activities were minimal due to Covid-19 restrictions. We are looking forward to coming back post Covid-19 to take advantage of the closed outdoor pool, hot tub and clubhouse. The campground had clean showers, plenty of hot water and not more than a 2 minute walk from our campsite. There are two dump stations at the exit of the campground, easy to maneuver into. My wife and I enjoyed the campground, we took a trip to Heceta Lighthouse for the day, geocached and hiked around the lighthouse. On Sunday when we were leaving South Jetty we passed Dan and Jen Nevada, from YouTube notoriety. They were arriving at South Jetty and scoping out their site, Jen gave us their sticker and business card. Their Youtube site is https://www.youtube.com/user/flyfishnevada/videos

All sites have electric and water but most do not have sewer. They are working on improvements to the sewer system. The beach is 2 miles down the road but had very little traffic. We were able to walk the beach alone several times. The dunes are close by as well but its a long walk so we often drove down to the parking areas near the beach which are free with a NW forest service pass. The town of Florence is great and there are many beaches you can visit. Plan to go to Waterfront Depot for dinner. It's spectacular but make reservations in advance. We also stayed at the Casino nearby for a couple days. You can stay there for free with no hookups.

The trees and grounds were beautiful and it was private enough that it almost made you feel transported to your own little-secluded place in the woods. Our site itself was fairly level, pretty big and had a nice fire ring and picnic table. We could see down to the little babbling brook below us and the trees surrounding us kept it cool and shady all day long. The grounds themselves were pretty easy to navigate, but the host at the Ranger Station did warn us that we may not want to take our 30ft fifth wheel into some of the areas while we were picking out our campsite. The amenities were great! There was a pool and spa, saunas, volleyball court, dog park, horseshoe pit, and an adults-only Lodge and an all-ages Activity Center. I think my favorite part was discovering the book trade area in the Activity Center! Such a great idea! My fiance and I went to work in the activity center during the day since there wasn't any wifi at our site and it was very quiet. Practically deserted, really. We also used the dog park a lot, as we have two very high energy pups. We seriously want to come back and stay longer. We loved the park, the staff, and the community. I can't attest to reception throughout the park just at our site. Also, did not use the WiFi.We really enjoyed downtown Florence with its quaint little shops and restaurants. Its a great place to walk the dog and enjoy the local vibe for an afternoon. We had great fish and chips for lunch at ICM Restaurant in old town, along the river. The dump station was backed up and closed. Again, due to the holiday it didn't open on the day we left, which was a Tuesday. Some sites do have sewer hook ups. Ours did not. The local area was nice but in all honesty we didn't discover or explore much, we mainly just hung out at the RV. We had enough space to set up a really nice outdoor area where we could decompress, read, and work (required unfortunately). The first loop in the park has mostly full hook up spaces but they have torn down a ton of trees up there and it felt really open. The loops in the back are much more private, but only a few have sewer. We were super lucky that we were able to snag a spot that was both private and secluded and had sewer. There were a few spots I liked slightly better, but being as we planned to be there 10 - 14 days I didn't want to take them without sewer. If all the spots in that more secluded loop had sewer this park would get a 5 star from me.Like all Thousand Trails (that we have been to anyways) wifi was only at the lodge / office. I didn't even bother testing it.We had great Verizon. Can't remember how the AT&T was and we didn't write that down. Was very quiet at night.[Actual stay was 09/23/15]
