We stayed for a few nights because we needed internet and full hook ups. It was a nice place to stay. Our ATT was useless. Verizon was around 8-10 down, maybe about 2 up. Loved that they have recycling available. The area we parked in had some nice trees around it which helped with privacy. And we got a military discount, which was nice.

I really enjoy this campground and the Durango area. One of things I like most is the lack of street lights all over the campground. I've stayed at many KOAs and other campgrounds that think camping includes being under a street light, which really bothers me because I enjoy the night sky. Well, here you get to see the night sky! There are a couple downsides, but not enough to downgrade my rating. The highway is right by the campground, so there is noise. But most sites are far enough away that it doesn't bother me. And the sites that are by the road have a nice view, so I probably wouldn't complain there either. The other downside is the cell phone signal, at least at site 209. I am getting 1 bar of verizon and 1-2 bars of ATT. But their wifi works great. I have cut out a few times on Zoom calls, but it doesn't last long and hasn't been an issue. Site 209 is at the very end down the hillside, so I can see why it would be mildly flaky at times. The other minor downside is pulling out of the park. You make a left to go toward downtown Durango and it can be real busy depending on the time of day. Nothing too bad, but sometimes can be annoying. My site is pretty level, but I've seen others that look a bit hilly. Nothing terrible here either, just something to keep in mind that some sites might need more leveling than others. Overall, it's a great campground and I love staying here!

The campsite is on a busy highway so there is a lot of noise on the adjacent sites. Interior is noticeably quieter. Many sites have trees as did mine. It's a 10 minute ride to Durango which is why I picked this location. My site did not have a sewer hook up but the dump station worked fine. I was there during a holiday weekend and it was very busy with kids and family activity. The campground hosts some activities. The front laundry room become unavailable after a busy weekend as they wash linens from the cabins. There was a second laundry room a short walk away which worked fine. In July I did notice mosquitoes at night.

We even liked the Pizza we ordered from their cook. The people were super friendly and super helpful. However, it was jam packed. We came in on a Holiday weekend so we expected higher rates, but I'm glad we were pulling a 15 footer and not anything bigger. The spots themselves are really narrow and tight. We were in between National Park Boondocking trips, so this may have compounded on the sensory overload of people and activities. And it was hot...very hot.. that day.

WIFI/ CELL SERVICE: Camp wifi and speed seemed to work really well! I could use email and stream videos with no delay; however we used a hot spot for work calls to be more clear, but their wifi probably could have been fine to do so. 2 of 4 bars AT&T but calls came in fine throughout the entire park. SITE: Pretty campground layout. Love the "S" curved pull thru sites. We had an "S" shaped site with nice privacy and ease of arriving and leaving because of design. The sites all seemed to be nicely spaced from one another and private even though you are nearby. There were some views and there were a few pretty fall trees and a vacant pasture to look at while sitting at the picnic table. A small creek flows along the edge of site 23. Full hookup; level site; heated water so didn't have to worry about pipes freezing during stay; fire pit; grill; full sun site; rock roads but well maintained and not too dusty; light road noise. I'm sure the sites closer to the highway are louder near the campground entrance; no bugs in October that we experienced. OTHER: Nearby Walmart and shopping center. About 20 min drive from Historic Downtown; about 5 minutes from Anytime Fitness gym. Laundry room was small and they didn't clean our clothes very well, but it was kept clean.

Sites range from back ins to pull thrus and the quality of the site varies greatly depending on what you have. We had a pull thru view site and our view was of the 5th wheel on the other side of the road and some mountains behind them. It was definitely not an unobstructed view but considering the other sites, I was glad we sprung for the upgraded sites. The other RVs were spread out through the park with no consistent organization. The sites are pretty tight for the most part in the non view sites. Some of the pull thrus are a little challenging getting out of as well. Clearly this is an older park where big rigs were not a thing during the design phase. It got really dusty and they should be watering down the gravel more frequently to keep the dust down.On the pros, the landscaping is nice and it's a very clean park. The laundry room looked very nice as well although I did not use it. Sites have good hookup layouts and lots of cable channels.Location was convenient to shopping and downtown Durango. Durango has a really cute and walkable shopping/dining area.Internet was typical for a private RV park...barely usable. ATT and Verizon were both very usable unboosted.

We were escorted to the site and they insured everything was to our satisfaction before leaving. Despite Covid, they provided breakfasts and pizza by appointment in an open air seating area. We reserved what was classified as a Premium Patio site with full hookups and also had a patio table and fire pit. The fire pit was propane and the campground will bring you a propane tank if needed and then you pay per pound used at the end of your stay. Site was very long and had plenty of room for our Class C and our car. This is a clean park with gravel driveways and RV spots. The laundry room and restrooms were very clean. Park also has a playground for children, mini-golf course, and an area for dogs. This was a great location for our several day trips to explore the area and SW Colorado.

We had spot 10, large and level. The sun sets were awesome. As other reviews have mentioned, this used to be a KOA (not a bad thing). It is a 15 minute drive to town and is on the more desert side of town. The west and north sites do have road noice from hwy 160, but it dies down after 10p. In all we would stay again.

We were also across from the bathrooms with noise that goes with that. The managers next to us were very rude to us multiple times. We do not plan to return.

It is a lovely park for being an RV park with a creek running thru which was great for the dog to cool off. The employees and hosts are nice and friendly. There are big rig spots that resemble the normal pack ‘em in style of most RV parks, but most of the sites are relatively spacious and have a few ash junipers separating one another. The entire place has a summer camp vibe, with kids running loose, the pool splashing away, the smell of pizza wafting through what–if all of La Plata County didn’t smell like a campgire–would have been the faint smell of those beautiful big arm, climbable junebabies, and additional fun stuff like ice cream, recycling, compost bins, and sometimes a kids movie in their pavilion. You can scoot to Durango, one of the best towns in these United States, in about ten minutes or less by car. The only particular issue I found was, one night as I sat up late inhaling wildfire smoke and contemplating the percentile loss of solar power based on the continuous haze of smoke in the air, a park host came wandering through our site. Now, this is the kind of maze of a campground where you can and should expect kids and other campers in general to wander through your site, but it was midnight or so and he definitely startled me. We locked eyes and, without a word, just walked on by. I assume he was either sleep walking or a zombie. My kids both voted we rate this 5 stars, something I’d rarely do for an RV Park, but I am really impressed with what they’ve got going on here so I went with it.

Beggers can't be choosers I guess. We had the pie/ice cream combo...yum. Breakfast was pancakes and waffles for a fee...wasn't cheaper than going to a McD's, but more convenient. There was a dog run, a 'gold mine' think for the kids, the pool was heavily used but not out of control. Lot's of tents which surprised me...I'm not a KOA frequenter but expected RV's. I'm in a tear drop.Showers were good...a little outdated by the standards I'm seeing at other RV parks. More showers than bathroom stalls, so there was a morning wait to do your business. All in all a nice place, nice people. Caters to families.
