Really enjoyed this campground. We had a spot just across from the river. Very quiet, very clean. 1/2 mile from three barrel brewery… which was a good location for lunch aster a mtn bike ride.

Turned out they had a farmers market and music until 9PM on Thursdays (June-Sept), so lots of cars and no clear way to park our 34 ft classA. Decided to give this place a try after seeing online that they had spots available. Drove in and they did. Linda was very nice to check us in and give us a spot near the Rio Grande River (R19) one row away from river. Sites R1-18 are on the river. Sites are very spacious and lots of shade from the tall cottonwood trees. Sites in “the meadow” have less to no shade and are closer together (and more long-termers). We have reservations elsewhere for tomorrow, otherwise we’d stay longer. And we could still enjoy listing to the music in the park from our camping spot. Cell service is good and free wifi at campground. Water and electric hookup, dumpstation near office. Also laundry on site, but did not use.

Recommend staying in river spots if possible, the spots away from the water are pretty tight and there are some longer term residents there as well. Showers are pretty minimal, but they held hot water and provided ample space for dressing. Women's has two stalls and men has only one stall. There are two dump locations and one trash area. I had to work in the afternoon and was able to use their WiFi for video calls.

Would definitely stay here again. Quiet and clean with great staff! Also loved that it was just a little off the main roads no road noise.

We have birds everywhere along the park along the river. This summer I saw 50 different species in the area. The staff is amazing. We plan to go back again this summer.

Instead, we stay at Woods and River CG in Del Norte CO. It is what it name says: a great W/E site embraced by trees and overlooking the Rio Grande River. While the $45 fee is more than we normally are willing to pay, it was just a couple of dollars more than San Luis which requires that you have a $43 fishing license to camp.

We were on the river and there was plenty of shade. Many of the trees had some damage due to a recent storm so there was a lot of branches on the ground during our stay. The only big complaint I have is the shortage of restrooms. In the shower building each sex had two showers and one toilet. Only grief was the toilet was tied to one of the showers. So if someone was in the shower, no toilet. My camper has a small black tank so using facilities is important. The staff were very nice and they were making improvements to the play area that will make it nice for the kids.

About 60% of the sites are located in an open field with some smaller trees/shrubbery, pretty normal commercial CG spacing, and FHU. The remaining sites are split between two rows nearer the river, offering more mature trees, a more natural feel and a bit more privacy, and are W/E only. While RV ‘scenery’ isn’t normally a big deal to us when considering commercial parks, it’s worth noting there is a significant difference between the front ‘Meadow’ sites and those in the ‘River’ area. The undeniable park highlight is it’s direct access to the river, a short walk allows you to enjoy the scenery or go for a swim. There is also plenty of room for walking a dog, and while there were a lot of RVs during our stay, the park was serene. Our ‘River Woods’ site was just big enough for our truck and trailer, and our utilities were easy to reach and worked perfectly during our stay. We were far enough away that we didn’t even bother to try the Wifi, but Verizon worked perfectly without a booster. The park manager is very nice and while we made our reservation over the phone (their site was down), they do have online booking along with a very clear and helpful website. In some ways this is a very normal commercial style park (particularly the front field/meadow sites), but it is well kept and offers some very nice scenery (river area). It’s easy to access, close to town, and nearby to various other spots of interest. We might stay here again, but based on our camping experience/preferences, the daily and weekly rates are quite a bit higher than we’d normally pay.

There are plentiful Cotton Wood trees that provide ample shade, and the location is so quiet, we slept with the windows open each night, the lapping of water and sound of frogs in the background. The restroom and showers are clean and well appointed, and there are numerous gazebos, a large group shelter, paved sidewalk loop, and even a zip line for the kids. The location of this campground is ideal for anyone wanting to enjoy the Great Sand Dunes, as well as the activities in Pagosa Springs without having to move. Both are a 1-hour drive. The only drawbacks to this place are: no sewer hookup on the river sites (totally worth it though), and the greenery areas could use a little TLC, such as mowing and weed-eating. There are many RV parks between this one and Pagosa Springs, but they’re all very close to the highway. If you are wanting peace and tranquility, I don’t think you can beat Woods and River

We planned to stay one night and changed our plans to stay over a week. We are set up in a site by the river, nestled amongst tall trees providing lots of shade. The sounds of the Rio Grande flowing nearby soothes the soul. Our site is very roomy, with an abundance of space for our truck and camper and a large screen shelter. It has a great fire pit and a picnic table. There is plenty of space between campsites. We have enjoyed the walking along the banks of the river, which has two new gazebos to sit in. There is nothing but nature to view on the other side. The sites by the river don't offer sewer hookup but the campground offers honey pot service for a small fee. The host is wonderful. Be aware that when you turn off the paved road, you will drive down a dirt road about 1/4 of a mile directly into the campground. Along the road, you'll see private, old mobile homes which don't represent the quality of the campground. Just keep on driving to experience a little slice of heaven.
