Stumbled on this resort when our planned boondocking spot couldn’t accommodate our rig. We loved the beauty and charm here and enjoyed our brief stay immensely. The only downside was that they charge extra for kids and for dogs, which felt silly to me. Nonetheless, I would stay again.

KOA style campgrounds are not my favorite way to camp, but I was pleased with this KOA. They work hard to keep it clean. It was a short drive to either Victor, CO or Cripple Creek, CO from here. It was a short drive to either Victor, CO or Cripple Creek, CO from here. My only complaint is that the sites are close together and not very long. We have a 35’ 5th wheel and we could not fit our truck in the spot with the camper. This seemed to be problem for a lot of other campers there too. No road noise from the campground.

Probably the first KOA we've stayed at where we felt the rate paid was worth it. At 10,000 feet in elevation, this campground is situated on a hillside in the mountains at the base of Pike's Peak, resulting in beautiful surroundings and views. Interior roads are a bit narrow and RV site spacing is pretty typical for a KOA, but everything else gets an A+ from us. Owners and staff were consistently helpful and friendly. Grounds are clean and well cared for. Bathrooms, showers, coin laundry, gift shop/store, corn hole, pedal cart rental, dog run, dump station, $4 weekend pancake breakfast, cabins and tent spaces all available.Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, historic mining towns of Cripple Creek & Victor, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods/Colorado Springs, all great day trips from here. 30 min drive to town of Woodland Park for major grocery markets, gas, dining, shopping. We had plenty of Verizon signal to stream video, but no AT&T or T-Mobile.It's a bit out of the way, and the effects of the high elevation aren't to be laughed at, but it's worth the effort!

Great campground. Clean and very well run. Everyone is very nice. We loved checking out Cripple Creek, Victor, and Royal Gorge. The internet works great. If you have an AT&T iPhone, you can only FaceTime or text with other iPhones. If they don’t have an iPhone, you’ll only be able to email. We will definitely be back.

This is one of our very favorite places in Colorado. We stayed 5 nights at the Cripple Creek KOA with two couples who are traveling with us for a few weeks. The weather in this area is picture perfect for us and the views are stunning. The park is managed/owned by just the best couple, Deric & Teri Gunter, who have become our friends. They care about their park and their campers. The gravel and road base roads are well maintained as are the sites. This park is built on the side of a mountain, so each site is a bit higher in elevation than the next. Several have beautiful rock patios complete with lovely outdoor furniture. The little store is well stocked and all public areas are sparkling clean. We used the laundry room and appreciated their attention to CoVid precautions, giving out appointments so that only one person is using the laundry at a time with cleaning and disinfecting between uses. Washers are $2 and dryers $1.50. We love the sunsets from this park and plan on going back there again before we head to Texas for the winter. In general, I am not a commercial park kind of gal, much preferring state parks; but this KOA is an exception that I will make over and over again. While in that area be sure to visit both Cripple Creek and Victor - both mining towns with some great history. We recommend taking the Molly Kathleen Mine and Newmont Mine tours, giving you a great view of mining past and present. And if you are up for an adventure, take a trip down Phantom Canyon (without a trailer) from Victor to Canon City gives you some great views and the pullouts give you a history lesson as you will be following what use to be the cog-train track - now made into an unpaved and somewhat narrow road.

Due to fire ban, couldn't use grills or fire ring. Nice and quiet. You have to drive up in the mountains to get to, but breathtaking views. Way up. Please pay heed to speed limits! Wifi spotty due to mountains. No cable tv or antenna reception-again because of mountains. Primitively tent camping available as well as cabins. Beautiful views!
