Our site was mostly level however we did see other RV's using lots of blocks to level up as the sites are dirt and gravel (still, they all made it work! Our site was mostly level however we did see other RV's using lots of blocks to level up as the sites are dirt and gravel (still, they all made it work! The surrounding hillsides were blooming with wildflowers and even wild garlic! The food truck, "Docs" on site was terrific, and the cook and helper were fantastic! Our site was advertised as a pull through, however, upon check in it was a pull in, unhook, drive around a sharp corner, park behind the RV, then when we left, drive back around the front, hook up, then back out! I am still a rookie at backing out, however, with some patience and a good spotter, I did it. Please make sure you check with them if you use the "A" row. There are only 4 spots, advertised as premium pull through. Still, all in all not enough reason to lower my rating. We will stay here again.

The travel park is behind the main...moreWe booked at the last minute but the person on the phone was so helpful in answering our questions and taking our reservation. That continued to be the case every time I dealt with any member of the staff. The Hospitality House is the former county hospital, built in a beautiful victorian mansion. The travel park is behind the main building.The campground is on a slope with each site arranged like steps down the hill. The sites and the road around the campground are gravel and dirt and most are pretty unlevel though even the large rigs seemed to make it work, but there were a few with front wheels off the ground. The laundry is in the bath house at the bottom of the slope. At nearly 10,000 feet walking back uphill from the laundry can leave you out of breath. The largest store in town is a Family Dollar store which has a slim selection of groceries-- mostly packaged foods.The town is mostly casinos so during the week most shops are closed and it's quiet to the point of being a little creepy. On Thursday and Friday nights the crowds start to show up and the town comes to life. There is also a herd of wild donkeys that wander around town. We woke up to a loud HEEHAW! and looked out of the window to see them all eating grass around the campsite. You'll also see random piles of donkey droppings as you walk around town. We were looking for a quiet pace to work during the week so it worked out for us.

However they are a bit ...moreWe booked a months stay for $600.00 includes all utilities. We weren’t sure what day we would arrive but Rick was so helpful and had our site ready. The B row looks out over beautiful grasslands even though your on the side of the mountain at 10,000 feet. The sites are big enough for our 36’ 5th wheel and truck. However they are a bit narrow. They are also dirt and grass. The altitude takes a few days to get used to so eat blood building food to help your transition. The Hospitality House is an old hospital that is just beautiful. He took us on a tour a few days after our arrival. They are doing a beautiful job restoring it. They also give massages. There is a dog park being built that will have ample room for your pups to play. There are wild donkeys in the area that do meander into the campground on occasion. They are harmless and were left over from the gold miners. There is a laundry room that is clean with good running machines and a bathroom I haven’t been into. There is plenty to do in the area.

The town of Cripple Creek is pretty fun, with lots to do and see both in town and in the area. But the RV park surrounding the Hospitality House is only mediocre. But the RV park surrounding the Hospitality House is only mediocre. None of the sites appeared to be level, and most motor homes had their front tires in the air. The space between my gravel site and my neighbor's gravel was only big enough for a picnic table, and my other neighbor spent each morning reading the paper next to my sewer hookup.I never saw them clean a site, though plenty of people were not picking up after their dogs. It wasn't too trashy, though it was a bit messy with vehicles and other gear around. But the worst part was the city water that smelled like a swimming pool -- lots of chlorine. Of course, that may not have been the park's fault, but it was undrinkable.You're in town, so the cell service is decent. There is a grocery store and gas station close by. If I was staying in the area again I would go up the road to Mueller State Park.

Very historic area. Now about the park- the sites are dirt, gravel and some grass. Not to level, most people had blocks to get level. We traveled in a fifth wheel and the pull-through sites we plenty long enough to stay hooked up. The park has an area of full-timers and as is usually the case with these, it was fairly trashy, but they stayed to themselves. Bath houses were clean, but could have been cleaner. Needs updating, faucets were a bit tough to deal with. Pets are welcome and plenty of room to walk them. The park has strict pet rules, make you sign a waiver about leashes and clean up. But was not enforced much. A couple of rigs had yappers that barked a lot when owners gone. They offer wi-fi, but it was weak at the travel park. You could go to hotel for good service. This is just FYI, in case this matters to you. Was not a turn-off for us. People were great. Views breathtaking. And we were lucky to have the wild burros visit the park. They are friendly and adorable. Wildlife was abundant. We will return.
