Access to the river right behind our site with a picnic table and fire pit. Staff was friendly and attentive to needs. Loved having a small playground on site for the kids. The owners raise sheep on the property across the river which my kids found intriguing. Quiet, relaxing and beautiful location. Also secure with key-coded gate. Close to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Only drawbacks were there was no cell service (T-mobile) and the sewer dump was a little above-grade. Not a showstopper, we would definitely go back!

This campground was absolutely beautiful. It was like camping at a nice park with a beautiful river running through it. The staff were courteous and helpful. We’re looking forward to coming back here in the future.

This means you need to adjust your expectations and just let the surrounding landscape do the work. The general store staff were friendly and helped us fill up with water. However, the inside of the store is very smoky, to the point of impacting the quality of the goods sold. The regular clientele here are anglers and hunters. However, the creek running behind the grounds and the flock of sheep add a ton of character that our family enjoyed. Cell phone service is non-existent so use it as an excuse to go off grid and leave the work inbox behind.

Wow, we loved our stay here! The RV spots are beautiful and back up to the Cimarron River. It’s on the road, but the river blocks out any road noise. The area is full of trees and birds and makes you feel secluded and peaceful. We especially loved that there was no cell service so we could truly disconnect. The area is full of trees and birds and makes you feel secluded and peaceful. We especially loved that there was no cell service so we could truly disconnect. The full hook-ups were great, didn’t have cable, but that’s the last thing we cared about. We’ve heard about the famous pies and had to try one. We bought a blackberry pie, and it was seriously the best pie we’ve ever had, so we went back the next day for another! We will definitely be back, it’s only a 20 minute drive to Black Canyon and also right next to Curecanti, there is so much to do in that area. Thanks Cydney and Tito for a amazing 5 year anniversary!
