We come to this area for the bike trails and this RV park is right off the Rio Grande trail. Having full hookups is a luxury for us since we usually boondock in the National Forest campsites closer to Denver. The facilities were great - the only nitpick is the showers are almost TOO hot and the temperature is not adjustable. Cell connection is minimal but the great Wi-Fi makes up for it. There is constant low road noise on one side of the park but nice river noise on the other side. The view is great!

Main issue was road noise as it is right on hwy 82. But nicely kept small park on the edge of Carbondale, close to Glenwood Springs and Basalt, too.

The camp hosts helped me with a set of lost trailer keys (which we later found), the bathroom combination, and filling up the water tank. The bathrooms and showers are quite clean, the camp sites roomy enough as described on the reservation site. The highway noise was present but not obnoxious at night. There is a short path down to the boat launch on the river where the kids can throw stones into the water. There are fine views of Mt. Sopris to the south. The famous Glenwood Springs ten miles north has two different hot springs attractions and an adventure park with Fairy Cave and Kings Row Cave tours after a gondola ride up the mountain. Pricy but worth it.

Our first site was a full hookup, large back in site closer to the road. Site 1. $40 nightly. Second site was also back in, overlooking the river, with water and electric hookups only at $30. It was a smaller site but the sound of the river and view were superb. All sites have a fire pit and picnic table. All sites will have road noise but we didn’t find it bothersome. There is a bike/walking path starting at the RV park, easy access to launch a kayak, and about a mile walk to town from the park. The short walk to town is flat, paved, scenic, quiet and full of gorgeous wildflowers. Walking from the RV Park will put you right at the bus station for easy access to surrounding areas. Camp hosts were awesome. Bathrooms with showers were especially clean but a bit dated. Overall, the price for the RV Park was fantastic, as Colorado tends to be a bit on the expensive side. Carbondale is a great little town and a very central location for surrounding areas like Aspen, Glenwood Springs and several scenic drives. We would absolutely return and recommend the park to anyone with any size rig.

The sites have tables and fire pits. Showers have push buttons, but they are warm. Overall the park was clean. Camp host was friendly. Great spot for a quick overnight when we were leaving Aspen. There is a little bit of road noise, we were closer to the river so it wasn’t too bad, but the side closer to the road probably gets even more. Make sure to follow the signs, Apple Maps won’t take you to the right place. The park also offers WiFi, but it was so slow we couldn’t even load our bill pay app, so we had to use cell signal which luckily was great at our site for both Verizon and ATT.

Overall a very pleasant place. The bathrooms are clean and have soap provided. The sites are level. The camp hosts are very friendly and helpful. On the downside, they have Wi-Fi but it never seemed to connect. Our site overlooked the river, which was very pretty. The bike trail was very near the campground which was very handy.

This park offers great access not only to Aspen, but also the Crystal River Valley and Redstone. It is operated by the City. Getting the reservation was easy, and the on site hosts were very friendly.Bath house was closed due to the virus. Also, while located near the highway, the traffic noise was barley noticeable.

  • Sweet set up close to everything.

We went to the Carbondale Rec Center to work out and used showers there. Town is super cute. Lots of outdoor activities to enjoy! WiFi is not that great. Verizon signal came in and out. My Sprint phone worked best. We backed up to road and it was load during the day but night time was no problem.

  • Hands down, my favorite campground I've ever been to.

The people were very friendly and the campground was small but well laid out - it provided an intimate and cozy feel while giving you the sense of privacy. My site backed up to a drop which overlooked the river and onwards to Mt Sopris. My front view was Red Rock. I have never felt so safe and at so much peace in a campground as I felt here. My dogs loved it here, there were tons of trails to take them on. About 15 minutes from town. Everything was very clean. The bathrooms were in tip top shape. I used the shower in my airstream but my boyfriend preferred the camp showers. The showers are energy efficient while also providing you with a hot satisfactory shower. 10/10 would come here again and again. Someone else said something about road noise and I would say the road noise is extremely minimal. We were not bothered.

The campground itself is great. They have generous gravel, some trees, and some grass. They also have plenty of hookups if you want them. Spaces are generously wide. Despite the name, they also have a few tent sites.Because of proximity to the road, the traffic noise can be significant. The noise does quiet down late in the evening and remains subdued until early in the morning, but if you are tent camping here it will definitely be a factor.Stuff to do:* Ride or walk on the Rio Grande bike trail, in either direction.* If you'd like to walk into town, it's an easy two mile stroll along the bike path. We walked into town with our dog, ate at "Town" restaurant which was very good and allows dogs on the patio, hit the Colorado Creamery in town for gelato, and walked back. It was great!* Drag a couple of chairs over to the bluff above the river, and you'll find a very pleasant spot to relax and watch the water go by.* Fish in the river - we saw someone fly-casting there, and they seemed to be having a great time.* Visit Aspen and come back to Carbondale before you spend all your money in Aspen.* Continue on from Carbondale through Aspen and then over Independence pass, if your vehicle is small and strong enough. We had solid cell phone coverage here, though we also use directional LTE antenna and a Mi-Fi type device.
