Sites are mostly level, a mixture of gravel and dirt, some shaded, some full sun, all with beautiful mountain vistas. There are RV spaces, tent spaces, cabins, or you can rent a vintage trailer to glamp in. The owners, Sylvia and Larry, are extremely welcoming, and the daily happy hour on the front porch is not to be missed; the conversation flows freely, BYOB. Larry restores vintage trailers and his handiwork shows throughout the park—you can even stay in “The Long, Long Trailer” (well, similar make & model). There’s also a pool and playground.Restrooms are spotless and well maintained, as is the laundry room (which even has working vintage arcade games). When we arrived there was a vintage trailer rally going on, which was an added delight. There are three restaurants within walking distance (though you have to walk on the shoulder of Hwy 50), we highly recommend the Whitewater Bar & Grill for both good food and friendly service. Cañon City is close by, with lots to see and do. The Starlite offers a “7 nights for the price of 5” deal, which definitely makes it worthwhile (the price stated reflects this).Cell service was good enough for me to work, but not great. They do have free WiFi in the park, which works well.Dogs’ perspective: While there aren’t any trails to walk outside the campground, there’s lots of open space to run and play inside, plus a big fenced dog park, complete with a kiddie (puppy?) pool for cooling off on hot days and plenty of room to chase the ball. Owners are super dog-friendly, and dogs are definitely made to feel at home. Well-behaved pups can even join in the daily happy hour and get lots of love and attention.

Walking around at night is a joy as all the old rental RV's are lit up with string lights and you can see a little of the fun decor inside each. Located right off the US50, this is an easy access and convenient overnight. With the Passport America discount, we have full hookups (30amp), a fire pit and picnic table. There is a putt putt golf course, pool and even old time pinball machines. They have fully embraced the retro here!We made use of the spotless laundry mat (and cheap too) to get all the laundry done and with full hookups, we can do a little cleaning (after countless nights boondocking) A great value that lets us catch up on all the chores. This laundry room is THE CLEANEST I have ever used while traveling!Bathrooms and showers are older, but also spotless. Whoever cleans this place -- will she/he please stop by and clean my RV as well? The staff is wonderful, super friendly and accommodating. We didn't have the cash for Passport pricing and they let me run to town and trusted us to pay before the end of the day. You gotta love that 'old time' trust!Note: All the 'no pictures' signs are specific to non-guests - they have issues with people coming on the property just to look. Guests are welcome to take as many pictures as they want. All the insides of the rental 'classics' can be seen on their website. We are thinking it would be fun to meet up with relatives who don't camp and have them stay in one of the retro's available for rent.
OK if you get the Passport America rate...
