Our solar charger failed and our battery died, Red the host helped us out with a free charge and snow cleaning tools to get us on our way! He was so great as was everyone else staying there. In terms of the space it was lovely, amazing view and meticulously maintained gravel sites. Thanks a lot!

Manager is extremely friendly and helpful, place is clean and fairly quiet in the evenings. Spaces are way too close together for our tastes. Bring DVDs since there was no over the air TV signal. Price was reflective of the "resort" in the name... not sure what qualifies as a resort... For ease of use and convenience it fit perfectly for what we wanted on our way to treasures of the rockies further west.. It was a good FHU break between the state park campgrounds in Missouri and Nebraska, and state park campgrounds further west. We found it a bit too expensive and will look elsewhere next time... but may end up here again if we cant find anything better.

Internet is good but we had to use our jet pack to stream the football game. Check out is 11 am, which seemed a little early but he was kind enough to give us some grace. This is an extremely CLEAN camp and you can tell the owner is hands on! We recommend this place.

This was disappointing on its own.To add insult to injury, the person I spoke with was horribly rude and (incorrectly) insisted that it is very clear on their website that arrivals after dark cannot be accommodated. Apparently the park is very difficult to navigate, so keep that in mind I guess. No refunds for any reason and I got shouted at when I asked about it.

All of the park employees are super friendly and willing to help. This place is spotless clean and I don’t think I have stayed in a cleaner park, they take great pride in keeping this place in top shape.

We had a dog food shipment delivered without issue. Site 8 was a lovey pad and picnic table with a nice westerly sunset views. Some of the less money site were close together. Verizon and att cell phones were marginal for phone calls and less helpful with FaceTime. Our t-mobile hotspot was “roaming” and useless. Canon City is a short drive with great food and all the necessary supplies. Next time through we would stay for sure.

We had planned to boondock but sites were full and Canon City s not friendly to RVs staying overnight (Walmart, sports stores, etc). We were just passing through on a cross country trip of mostly boondocking, and actually didn't mind one night of full hook-ups. The staff was super friendly and met us at the office even though they don't accept new reservations after dark. The park was neat and tidy with mostly big rigs, some permanent residents. They are only accepting fully contained RVs because their bathrooms are closed due to Covid (as of Sept 2020). There were some campers playing music later into the night than necessary, otherwise a nice setup and experience.

Yes, it's largely gravel with a few grassy areas and young trees, but this place is really special. There is a nice store at the front, and they have someone on a golf cart take you to your site. They do this at other campgrounds, but then they usually leave you. Not this place! I've never had someone stick around to help me find the perfect place in my site, basically spotting me in. The guy made sure I had everything I needed, and he even washed down the picnic table before he left. Then he brought us firewood later in the evening. Full service! The sites are all very level, with a nice cement pad next to you. We never had to wear shoes, as the place was spotless. There were nice fire rings at every site, and lots of space for everyone. This park even has spots you can own and design how you like. A few of the spots had big trees, permanent covers over patio tables, and other things to make them nice. It really made you think about staying longer in Canyon City. It's really close to the Royal Gorge Bridge and the town of Canon City, which is handy. There is a bit of noise from the highway as it's fairly close, but that is the only drawback. I really look forward to staying here again.

A couple things to make it 5 stars would be to have a fenced in dog park area and a playground, they have a swing set and that was it. Didn’t get to go fishing, but this spot is close to the river and other activities.

The girl in the office was new and didn't tell us we had to have help getting into our site, and then their workamper got a little nasty with us about pulling in without him. He went off about how the owner was "watching on video," that he "watched everything," and how we were going to get him in trouble. The rest of our stay I couldn't help but feel like we were being watched, which totally creeped me out. We'd drive on through and go to the state parks in Salida next time - cheaper, prettier, and friendlier.
