The hotel looked like it had a few guests, but the casino was closed due to COVID. I imagine if it was open it may be busier/noisier next door. The campsite is right on the water and has a lovely little walking trail that goes down to a little cove and beach. We really enjoyed the close proximity to Bayfield - cutest little town. At our site on the back row (26), we had 50amp and water, and there is a dump station on the way out in the casino parking lot.
Great view

The site map is very confusing, the person that true it must have been spatially challenged! We were in site 14, which is literally on top of site 16 (a tent site) and tight up against 15 and 13. We were originally in site 45, but that is just a bump-out on the driveway and not really a site. We were in site 14, which is literally on top of site 16 (a tent site) and tight up against 15 and 13. We were originally in site 45, but that is just a bump-out on the driveway and not really a site. This is our third time here over the years and we keep coming back because it is right on the bay and it pretty easy to access compared to some of the other local options.
Convenient but can do better

Check-in was easy yet none of the staff had any intentions of saying more than necessary to get me out of their lobby. Didn’t get a receipt, campground map, WiFi info, or anything other than 2 slips of paper with my site number (1 for the vehicle & 1 to put on their post at the site). Since I saw the map online I had a general idea of where to go and parking was simple, however the site isn’t close to level. Most sites are crammed in and the “lakefront” sites are extremely packed aside from maybe numbers 11 & 12. I didn’t use the showers but the casino, lobby, and virtually any shared space reeked (sp?) of smoke. The casino was all slots and 4 tables for cards but no dealers when I went in at 9pm. They have a small store for souvenirs and sundries plus a snack bar and what I assume is a restaurant in the back. The dump station is, well, a dump. It’s on the wrong side of the road so you have to do a u-turn to use it when leaving then do another u-turn to exit the parking lot. I didn’t have any issues with quiet hours so maybe I just got lucky with neighbors. In the end it isn’t a bad place to stay but when I was driving around to see the lakeshore, there were several other options for public campgrounds with electric and dump stations that I wish I had know about before. If you stay, I recommend site 34, 11, or 12 as they have the most space with a view.

When we checked in, we had to ask the questions. luckily we did our research online and knew what to expect and what to ask for. If you are traveling with kids, ask for wristbands for the pool. The lady help us was not going to give any information you didn't ask for. It was almost comical, like a game of 20 questions :-) I will get the complaints out of the way on why I only gave it 3.5 stars. we were near the outhouse which was great, but there was no toilet paper in there after the 1st night. No one stocks them, so bring TP. There is not much for kids to do there, they can use the hotel pool but that is about it. It would be nice if they had a lilly pad or dock for swimmers. All entertainment happens in the casino, where kids are not allowed. They had karaoke, in the casino. Wish they would have had it in the entertainment center where you can bring kids... thought that was weird, they could definitely make it more family friendly. When we booked the weekend we booked 2 sites, sites 20 & 21. Site 21 was a small site and would not hold 2 tents, not big tents anyways. It would be perfect for a couple, but not for a family. The front desk let us cancel that site. We all stayed on 20, it is a big site and has a good view of the lake. There is lots of trees for shade. It is a clean campground, and we enjoyed our neighbors. A guy that worked at the casino delivered wood to our campsite, the sites have electricity boxes and running water. It is one road into Bayfield, and a lot of hiking trails nearby. We would definitely recommend to friends and stay here again... just bring lots of activities with you.

Along the shore there are a handful of sites that are very tight- which isn't a problem unless the people next to you drink and talk loud until after midnight, even after being spoken to.The casino hosts weddings which fills up the campground, and brings the partying. The office staff gave us NO information. Nothing about bathrooms, the pool, the dumpstation, or even a map of the campground. NO rules- such as quiet hours. Just didn't get the "warm and fuzzy" here.

This was a nice campground (Part of the Casino) yet it's off to the side & has 8 to 10 spots on the water. The third day an Airstream convoy came in it was cool, this group was doing a trip around Lake Superior. We had water & electric, the site was level and nice sized. The restrooms are in the Building the Casino is in it's a little walk or you can drive right up to it. Had big showers and they were clean. Took the boat tour to the Apostle Islands which is beautiful. Lots of Ice Caves, several lighthouses, the water was beautiful. The town of Bayfield is a little town and has many places to eat, shops and a nice Liquor store with good choices of wines.
