We are passing through NY and visiting friends as part of our Grand Tour of the US. This park is nicely wooded with clear signage, everything in the site works, and there are a lot of daily activities for kids. About 300 total sites including big rigs,...moreWe are passing through NY and visiting friends as part of our Grand Tour of the US. This park is nicely wooded with clear signage, everything in the site works, and there are a lot of daily activities for kids. A quiet comfortable place to stay and relax away from the surrounding metropolis. About 300 total sites including big rigs, small rigs, cabins, and tents.The downsides- Not enough bathrooms. On the tent/cabin loop there are 150 sites served by 2 stalls ea M/W, and 5 showers. This often meant lines at both bathrooms throughout the day. If you are tent camping, in a teardrop, or one of the many cabins without your own facilities this could get very uncomfortable on a busy weekend here. They need to add another large bathroom on this loop with at least 5 stalls ea to accommodate campers there. The roads in camp are pretty rough and narrow but we had no problem getting in or out.

If you are avoiding I-95 NJ/NY/CT congestion and traveling thru central NY state this is a great stop. The campground is nicely shaded and well spaced out. Easy access off the Interstate. Easy access off the Interstate. We just spent one night but seems like you could spend several days in the area exploring the Hudson River valley. They also offer tour/transport into NYC which might be an option for sightseeing. Road network in the campground are adequate for larger rigs. We have 35 foot Class A.

Big park, but the sites are generously spaced apart with trees and bushes for privacy. The roads could use some new pavement, it was seriously bumpy to get around the backside in my rig; guess that helps keep people under the 5 mph speed limit!Good staff, keeps the place clean and well-managed. Little store with essentials, and wine store next door to it. I wanted to stay in the Hudson Valley, so location was good, although not really close to a big city. If you want NYC, be prepared to either take their tour bus or drive an hour or so to get to the Big Apple.

We were really surprised and blessed by this campground. Located about 30/40 minutes from Poughkeepsie/Hyde Park. The parks in this area are pricey, however there was a special on the KOA website for buy one night, get one free...so it made this doable for us. The parks in this area are pricey, however there was a special on the KOA website for buy one night, get one free...so it made this doable for us. We had two separate encounters with the front desk...both with different individuals and the customer service was phenomenal. We don't typically walk into a KOA without reservations, however it was midweek so we went for. Kudos to the team here....they were exceptional. The laundry was clean and convenient. The jumping pillow and pool are not open midweek after Labor Day...however the campground was fun for my kids. We really loved the private/woodsy feel of the individual site and ours was near the playground, which was great since we have kids. The campground is away from most things....but well worth it to be in a safe and clean place. We loved how well manicured the trees were...meaning no low branches to scrape our rig! Also, the park wifi was fabulous.
