We stayed a couple of days traveling from Oregon to Lassen National Park. Found it by accident but enjoyed it so much. Great hookups. Very relaxed owners. Do pay for electricity with a meter but ours was about $1 or so for the night. Good wifi. Grassy spots without trees but a great view out over the meadow and good for spotting wildlife. Very quiet. You have to drive past an RV park on the right as you come down the road but keep on going. It is worth it. Discounts for military or police. Not the most scenic but one of the most relaxing places we've stayed. Going back next week for three more days to explore Klamath Basin Wildlife Preserve.

A cool place to stay: feel like to be in ranch with plenty space. The host is very friendly and there is no check out time required. The surface is a little bit uneven and it required to level the RV a little bit.

Craig let us stay in a fifth wheel belonging to his son's family, who were expected shortly. Craig helped us as we tried to get lockout help 50 miles from the nearest city on Christmas Eve. What a disaster it would have been without their help. The resort is very isolated and we watched a herd of deer pass by every day. And I mean a herd (11) deer. We'll be back.

It was such a peaceful, lovely experience and we really enjoyed the management style of the owners. All the sites are on grass and are fairly level - I believe we used blocks one side for minimal leveling. This little town of Tionesta is definitely in the middle of nowhere so come prepared with groceries.Right behind the campground is a tall hill with a fire lookout tower on it which is fun to explore. And in addition, all the cell phone towers are up there. We had amazing, blazing fast 4G service here which was very unexpected! If you're visiting Lava Beds National Monument I hope you'll plan to stay here and say hi to Barbara for us!
