They had recommendations on places to go in town and resources for the national parks. We were planning on staying in the National Park but they were full. On the day of our trip, we called to see if this place had any sites available and they said absolutely just come on down since they are in the office until 10:00 pm. We arrived and were extremely happy we decided to stay there. They had free California Oranges right when you got there. It was only $8 more a night than the national park, but what you got for those $8 more was incredible. Not much cell service, so they have great FREE wifi. They also have FREE and CLEAN showers and bathrooms. It was nice and quiet, and right along the river. Additionally, it was nice and close to the National Park so we could go every day, while still being close to town at night. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

We stayed here after arriving too early for our stay at lemon cove. Only 30amp sites so we could only run one ac. Spots are tight. Only redeeming quality is the great swimming hole off the back is lined with rocks and only goes about 4 ft. You can wade along and see some little waterfalls. Nice safe swimming area for kiddos. You will not get any service within 14miles (which is at least a half hour or more with how twisty turvy the road is) so we only stayed one day to see general Sherman and the giant forest. Got stuck in the notorious site 20 next to the neighbors from hell (not the campgrounds fault). Like any campgrounds these days it was packed full on the weekend. Site 20 is t...moreGot stuck in the notorious site 20 next to the neighbors from hell (not the campgrounds fault). Like any campgrounds these days it was packed full on the weekend. That wouldn’t be so bad if the sites were a little larger. They are very small in the upper loop where there are hookups and you are right on top of each other. Site 20 is the worst and seems like it was added as an afterthought with us half in the road on one side and half on the site next to it. WiFi didn’t work (I have Verizon no service there) Owners are nice - great views from one side of our site. Didn’t use any other amenities since we are self contained. Not a pleasant couple of nights but left early and got back late so we had a good trip anyway

We could not find a cheaper stay than $30/night, but with shower access and a river view it was worth it. We stayed in March and it was cold but the stars were beautiful. Surprisingly private for an RV park.

Site 20 should not even be considered a camping spot, you are practically in the street, also it was very noisy at night with lots of partying going on. The only plus to this place is it’s proximity to Sequoia National Park.

Slow down to enter, it's not smooth and the entrance is very narrow.Nice staff, helpful and friendly. Private access to the river is a very nice feature! You can go rafting with the company that is on the grounds. Quiet and dark at night.Electric worked fine - we had 50 amp. The sewer hook up required two hoses to reach. We had a lot of issues with water pressure. Sometimes it disappeared completely. With our onboard water we were able to avoid any real problems, but it was every day.

It was mid- April and we found that all the campgrounds in the park were closed until May except one (Patwisha, which was totally booked until May 1). We found Three Rivers Hideaway, which is located very close to the entrance to the park. Since we were planning to arrive the very next day we called. To our surprise a person actually answered the phone! And that person was Deonna, who was just as kind and sweet as a person can be. How refreshing! She graciously apologized for being fully booked, but when I told her we didn’t need hookups, she said come on up and there would be plenty of room for us to dry camp. This camp was perfect for several reasons. It is close to the National Park, right next to a beautiful clear river, has showers, laundry room, dump station, water, large receptacles for trash, dvd movies and books to borrow, and an extremely friendly and competent staff of two – Deonna and Dave (the owner). In my world, it’s the people that make the difference, and these two made us feel welcome, and glad to have us. The added bonus was the white-water rafting business (Sequoia Adventures) that operates right from the campground. How convenient is that? So after our visit to the park to see big trees (amazing), we signed up for one of their trips and had a blast with our friendly and talented guide, Don, who did a great job teaching and guiding us down the river where Dave himself was waiting to bring us back to the campground. Now that’s some hands-on business owner!This campground is not a sparkly shiny corporate-run business, rather it is a local owner who has created a nice space for his guests to camp comfortably. And to our delight, there is a local brewery (Three Rivers Brewery) just a short ride from the campground with very tasty craft beers and a sticker for our camper ????.

I want to come back here in the winter time for at least 2 weeks. My favorite camp site in all of california, hands down. The most welcoming, kind, hospitable people. I loved my time here and cried when I had to leave. No service in the park for Verizon but if you drive just down to the coffee shops on the right hand side, boom, service. Minutes away from Sequoia's entrance. Seriously. Once you come here, you'll never want to leave. I also had my first rafting experience ever with these guys and it was the greatest; unforgettable, treasured memories were made here.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Sites are a little close but its very close to the park and the cheapest in the area. Very friendly rvers and staff. If i ever go back to Seqouia i will be going here or Potwisha inside the park.

But, it’s small and kinda cramped (hard after being used to boondocking out in the middle of nowhere!), we were lucky to get a spot just when we needed it as they were full up other times. Wifi did NOT work at all despite ‘seeing’ a bar or two, even in their office, nor in the morning when they claimed “it should work with fewer users”. Also we had no phone signal here. Electricity was actually on the high side – around 130V on our first evening. Note if you want free campgrounds for Sequoia National Park, they are high up at the north side (many were closed 20th May but maybe would open soon after?), and best approached from Fresno direction – rangers do NOT recommend any 5th wheel over 25ft be towed up the windy road through the park from the south.

He found it wonderfully close to Sequoia National Park, but with cell service to work. She saw a big pile of sticks littering up the lower campground. He gathered the free wood. She wished the bathrooms were nicer. So did he. She didn't love the grocery store in town. He saw an osprey. Neither were impressed with In and Out Burger, but she liked the sycamore lined river at the end of the campground. He preferred the long winding drive into the national park. She made friends with a German mother who was traveling on that crazy year and a half they get off, paid, when they have a kid. He partied with her husband. They both got new boots. Eventually, everyone was happy.Still, they both agree that figuring out how to stay in the park, cell service or not, would be a better choice next time.
