I now understand why this still had sites available. Ill list the pros and cons.Pros:1) Price I posted was a monthly rate of 650 including power...not bad at all.2) Pool and hot tub area were adequate...not great, but ok.Cons:1) Sketchy residents. I never did feel unsafe here but the residents don't have any respect for the other rigs. More than a few times i had people cut between my RV and the neighbors (which the sites are close anyway).2) As stated by others, the management lacks customer service / people skills and the park is basically run by workkampers that don't show much pride in ownership.3) NOISE!!!!!!!! the road noise from hwy 86 is crazy bad. The worst I've experienced in any park. Couple that with the workers starting to run around in their carts at 7 am and you have a pretty bad nights sleep.4) A long way from everything. If your just wanting to sit and relax its ok, but the closest grocery store, etc is 20+ miles away.5) Cell service isn't great and the park wifi is useless.6) Bad water. Their water has trace arsenic levels, so you have to fill drinking water from a couple stations at the park. I could go on and on but you get the idea. This park makes my list of "never again" without question. One reviewer said it was refreshing to come to a park without a four page list of rules. Visit this park and you will appreciate the parks setting guidelines on what can and can't be done while visiting.

And there’s a gorgeous mountain just west of the park, marking a 24-hour backdrop over what would normally be a very boring and ugly desert park. A berm exists to mitigate road noise, and I’m hoping it was helping because it has never been louder in our home. In only one place in the RV, the Verizon connection was reasonable… in the afternoon to early evening. Think 5 Mbps down, 2.5 Mbps up. Our AT&T connection never showed up to the party. The Sprint connection was our lifesaver; if I dangled the device from a USB cable hanging out of the cabinet that we keep the printer in, we had “decent” service, meaning about 10 Mbps down and maybe 3 Mbps up. If you have dogs, the park fancies itself a free-range park. Not everyone’s animals are up for that kind of test. Be aware. There is a very generous dog run that most dogs will find some enjoyment out of stretching their legs in. Not all of the owners have been kind enough to pick up after their animals, however. It’s also worth noting that local water is toxic. Oasis Palms offers 3 spots to fill up your water by way of a reverse osmosis filter. If you have your own, this isn’t much of an issue for you, but for us, that meant buying a couple gallon jugs of water and refilling. This is also desert California. Not far from Death Valley. We were doing a gallon and a half to two gallons a day between drinking and cooking. They said it was fine to wash your dishes in, but I made sure to vinegar and a-salt my tea kettle. The bathrooms are serviceable. But they get everything wrong. On the men’s side, the room is HUGE but there are only 3 showers and 3 toilet stalls. The showers themselves aren’t anything to write home about, except the lack of a close curtain to the shower itself means that you’re spraying water everywhere. On the floor. On your clothes. On the curtain that you can see through when it’s bright enough. There are signs up in the bathroom/laundry area (and there aren’t enough machines, but there really never are) warning the residents/visitors that the water has not been adequately tested. It’s more than mildly disconcerting; I have a little leftover anxiety about being poisoned. Look up the Salton Sea if you’re interested. It’s only getting worse from here if no one does anything about it.Overall, I can’t give it better than a 2 out of 5. I think this place works great as a home base if you’re into the Coachella world. If you’re retired and looking for a place to get away from the world… this may still not be the best choice for you. When we spoke about it, Jakki was more generous with a 3 out of 5, citing unmetered electricity (which WAS nice, I’ll admit) and very fair booking prices.

When I called, the man on the phone was very rude and unhelpful (reading these other reviews says it all), and due to my negative experience at this point I no longer wanted to stay and wanted a refund. They refused saying it is against their policy but offered a rain check as If I'd want to stay here at all anymore. He said my spots may be available on a different day, even though they can just switch your spot on you again because oh yeah, that's their policy as well. So I don't recommend you waste your time here, your reservation means nothing and there's no refund on your deposit.

We found management and guests to be very nice and super relaxed. One of the few parks where we weren't met with 4 pages of rules when we arrived. We have a great site that overlooks the pond and not too far from the pool and spa. We are parked on level concrete and surrounded by grass. Nightly happy hour fires started and wood supplied by the owner is nice as well as organized games (poker and card) and movies in the clubhouse. We enjoyed hiking the Mecca area (tons of slot canyons, palm oasis, hidden springs, and caves) and day trips to Borrego Springs or Palm Springs. The closest major grocery and shopping area is Indio - about 25 minutes away. Mecca is closer (8 miles) and has gas, propane, ice cream, bakery and wonderful Mexican grocery stores (great supplies for Taco Tuesday grilling). The water situation is affected by the Salton Sea and site water is fine for bathing and dishes, but they suggest using reverse osmosis for drinking. Several stations are located around the park to get drinking water. We used a 5-gallon container to keep at our site for drinking water and turned off our ice maker. Losing the ice maker was our biggest hardship for the stay. There is highway noise, but we found it wasn't bad and we quickly got used to it. The price was very reflective of the location and we felt the value was good. As the wind was ripping through the valley we appreciated the grass lots (no dust storms in the park). The pool and spa are open 24/7 and we never found them crowded, which was great for and end of the day ritual. NOTE: If you are going hiking in the Mecca Valley check out blogs for hike suggestions. All Trails is very limited on mentioned hikes and the signage is poor. The ladder hike is great one!

No people skills and should not be in the service business. He got very combative when I politely asked for a written copy of their non-exsistent refund policy for early departure. I asked to talk to the owner and he laughed. He offered a refund as a gift card for use at my return. Really? I’ll never come back! The only positive that I can express is that we’re gone and will NEVER visit again. I encourage everyone else to do the same. Stay away. Please, please, please stay away.

The shower/laundry house was kept very clean and they were currently working on fixing a broken dryer. We stayed twice at this site: on a regular RV pull thru site and a campsite. Our rate reflects passport america discount. Both site were adequate. They have a dump station. The only downside about this park is their water. There is a warning sign at the office telling you not to drink the water for several reasons. While it is safe for your shower, do laundry and dishes, it should not be consumed as there are high levels of fluoride and arsenic. The RV park has 3 reverse osmosis filtering systems in place for people that need to fill up their water/drinking bottles. I took 1 star away simply because of their overflowing trash containers were overfilled both time we were there. Trash collection is on Mondays and it piles up and attracts flies in the meantime. The locations is good and by the Salton sea. The noise from the road did not bother us.If you're into fishing, they have a little lake with a water fountain. People seemed to be enjoying fishing there when we were there. They have a fire near the lake as a social event most nights. Did I say people here were friendly? I loved their dog run. It was large enough for my dog to run and actually get tired. Most RV parks build dog runs for tiny dogs which are typically useless for large breeds but not this one. They had a public grill and outdoor sink for people to use also. The cellular reception wasn't bad but Verizon tower was definitely busy but we were still able to get some work done. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and how dog (and people ha!) friendly they were. We will be back whenever we are in the area.

Only place in the desert with lush landscapes and fruit trees. Staff is super nice and welcoming. Att service weak, but Verizon is good. 2 Laundry areas and super clean, spacious showers. Our favorite part is the lemon, orange and grapefruit trees tour encouraged to pick from! The pool is heated and the hot tub feels great after long travel days. Is a bit far from nearby amenities, but the secluded, oasis vibe more than make up for that. A peaceful, relaxing and fun place to stay. We love it here! Also - enjoy fresh cookies every since morning in the lobby!!

I picked this because it has grass, sounded dog-friendly and didn't want to pay a high price just to be close to Palm Springs.Oasis Palms was a great choice. The Pro's: - Everyone is friendly - It feels like living in an orchard; grass and fruit trees. Need a lemon? Go pick one. - Dogs are really appreciated, there's a big dog run and if your dog is friendly and well behaved they don't mind them walking around with you off leash. One of mine can be a bit aggressive with certain dogs breeds sometimes, but he seemed to get the idea that this was a place to be cool - The monthly price is terrific and we also had a few days on Passport America. - They deliver mail to your door! As a full-timer parks that are picky about receiving mail are annoying, this one exceeds by being so helpful. - They work to create a community; common firepit, card games most days, Mexican food on-site at the weekend.- The trees, lake, and mountain views are pretty. This area has a microclimate that's warmer and less windy than Palm Springs, so nicer winter weather and a lot less dust.Cons: - It is about 15 miles from mainstream retailers in Indeo. There is basically no traffic or rush-hour, so not that big a deal. Local eating spots are a bit limited too. - There is a road on one side of the campground. We deliberately picked a spot at the other side and our RV is virtually soundproof, so no issues for us. Also, it's convenient to have the main road when going to places.Don't forget to go see Slab City (Salvation Mountain), look out for the travertine brown line 400 ft above the current water level from when the Colorado River flowed into the Salton Sea a few 100 years ago. If its spring, take a trip to see the wildflowers in Borrego Springs.Cell coverage was good. Used an external antenna for Verizon and had 30mps and a booster for Sprint to also get 30mbpsSo, very happy with the choice and will stay again.

Half of the washers didn't work and there are numerous "half done" tasks that really could use some attention. Little things like some simple patio furniture outside of the secondary shower / laundry facility would be nice. There's a huge outside kitchen that is plumbed and has a sink but nothing else. A grill or two and some furniture would make this an awesome gathering spot for everyone. When we arrived we were told that the site we reserved was unavailable due to some park power issues (they had just fixed it apparently). We chose site 39 which wasn't bad. The power was week but usable (115 volts on average). The sites are very close together, though. I would guess that half of the sites are occupied by long term or permanent residents. Overall, everyone was super nice, though. They say that this place is dog friendly and that is an understatement. Dogs almost run the show. Several run around full time off leash. While they're friendly, it's possible that they won't get along with all other dogs, though. Plus there's poop all over the place (watch your step).Noise really wasn't a problem from any of the park guests. On Friday night there was some noise but not enough to bother me any.. besides, most of these folks have worked hard all week and needed to blow off some steam. I totally get it.On Saturday night, however, we arrived back from the grocery store to some of the loudest music we've ever heard. Literally, you could feel and hear it in your RV and the TV wouldn't drown it out. Turns out that there is a "club" on private property behind the resort that gets loud occasionally. I couldn't get in touch with the park manager so I contacted the sheriff's department to complain. They were extremely nice about it and got someone out. The music turned down at about 10:00 PM but slowly crept back up until it was turned off at about midnight. The next day the park manager called me back and said that the sheriff will shut them down after 10 complaints. The loudness of this music alone was enough to make me question coming back, and probably the only thing that would keep me from returning. All employees are all super nice and the pool, hot tub, and bathrooms were all extremely clean. The laundry was so-so but very adequate if you can get one of the machines. The fruit trees scattered about are nice - you can pick fresh fruit to enjoy. We really enjoyed that. The grounds could use some attention but they seemed to be working on it some. There is a huge off leash dog run that our dog loved. It's all dirt but fenced and plenty of room for them to stretch their legs. This park borders highway 86 and the noise is apparent. There is a tall dirt noise barrier but it only blocks so much noise. Later in the evening the traffic tends to quiet down some, though. Lastly, the wifi was adequate. At times it was very fast but it got saturated quickly. We had fair AT&T service but it was slow. T-Mobile was strong enough to be usable for remote work and such.

FHUs with 30/50 amp in all pull-throughs and the back-in sites around the cute little fishing pond. The fastest WiFi we've had in a long time - consistently good throughout our stay. Pretty swimming pool and spa with clubhouse full of fun things to do. Planned activities for those who want to mingle. Community fire pit keeps smoke and noise away from the individual sites which we appreciate. The pond is clean with healthy palm trees surrounding. People were sitting outside, enjoying the warm winter temps, and visiting with each other. A nice, comfortable environment without feeling like you're at someone else's club. The folks running it are very friendly and helpful. Although their Passport America policy is 4 days in the winter and 6 in the summer, because they hadn't updated the website they automatically gave us the 6 days - super!! They were able to extend our time a few days although we would have liked to stay even longer :-) Easy access and check-in. Knock on manager's door if no one in the office - it's in the same room. The park itself is very quiet, and dark at night. It does sit on Hwy 86 so road noise is very noticeable outside or with the windows open. It didn't bother us, but it is a bit noisy.Unless you are planning to hang out and relax in the park you'll do some driving to get anywhere. Groceries and eateries are about 30 minutes away. Borrego Springs is an easy 45 mile drive. The Salton Sea is nearby but there isn't much there unless you're a birder - although the views are beautiful. We'll definitely be back when in the area.

The staff is so friendly and helpful, the pool area, laundry and restrooms/showers are very clean, but the grounds are completely neglected. The park overall has such great potential. Apparently new owners were, at one time, going to expand and make improvements...and there were signs of unfinished construction having taken place here and there, but this park is in immediate need of a serious maintenance and landscape overhaul. Grass and trees are overgrown, moles have a series of tunnels everywhere, garbage was left stacked up next to a building for five days of our stay. We weren't looking for a resort type atmosphere, just a place that is clean and well maintained. Oasis Palms falls short, but could really be something special. We would mostly likely return when traveling through, but only for a night or two. Road noise is a bit of a nuisance here. Nightly rate reflects Passport America discount. We stayed here in a fifth wheel.
