However, Mother Nature decided to drop a lot of spring snow on Sequoia and basically shut it down. Time to figure out Plan B. Fortunately, the office rep was able to work it out so we could stay in our site for another night. Very much appreciate that effort. It is cold and rainy so did not want to hitch up and move. The campground is small and well laid out. All are pull-thru spots with a decent sized tree between each. Nice to have with the wind. Our site is slanted, but easy to level the trailer. The office has a book swap library and a small selection of DVDs. There is wi-fi, but is fee based from a third party. The laundry is clean and $1.75 a load using an app. Be sure to spend some time in the downtown area. It is vibrant with lots of character and murals. Would be fun to be here when the neighboring glider airport is up and running.

They were clean and there was a washer and dryer but I didn't use them. The staff was welcoming and friendly. It's right next to a little airstrip where I watched a glider land which was cool. Yeah the grounds aren't fancy, it's an RV park in the desert. But for a restful, quiet stopover it was perfect!

Park has seen better days, and better management. Worn out sites with little care to maintenance but the big problem is that restrooms are locked overnight! You can imagine what results from this policy. Office staff was very friendly and efficient. Stayed 1-21-22

Stayed overnight on 07 Jan 2022. This park is next to a small light aircraft airport away from town. Pet friendly, laundry facility, showers, dump station, 50A/water hookups. We were in space 7 in a 33' travel trailer, a little tight, tree branches, but doable. We will stay here again.

Site 12 would have been a better choice for us, our site had trees on both sides and no trimming of branches is allowed so we had branches on our slide toppers or windows our entire stay which is not great when there are strong winds.Downgraded our rating, dump station was out of order so we had to pay $10 at the Love's truck stop. Restrooms and laundry were also out of order when we left. Pretty expensive for a 4 night stay with so few amenities. Felt like they should pay the dump station fee but no one working in the office when we left.Overall this is a good stopover if you need a place in Tehachapi but next time I think we'll stay at a lower elevation, it was just too cold for us and with the wind it felt even colder.

The grounds are well maintained with some grass plots and mature trees throughout the campground. The roads were easy to navigate even in my 42' + tow'd and the sites themselves are easy to access. All in all, a very clean, small park perfect for a quick over-nighter. If you're just looking for some down time relaxing in your rig, this place would be a good choice for that as well since there's so little to do in the area and it's very quiet with decent views.A couple minor complaints: Our site was anything but level... our front wheels are off the ground at least 3 inches, and I still don't think I'm perfectly level. The 30' Class A two spots down is set up the same - front wheels dangling - but the 24' 5th wheel next door didn't even notice. Unlevel sites aren't at all unusual and that alone wouldn't stop me from coming back, but it's worth noting for others just in case leveling is difficult for your rig. Also, because I didn't want to unhook my tow'd just for a quick overnight stay, I had to pull the nose of my rig slightly into the lane in front of us, and the rear bumper of our tow'd is slightly hanging into the lane behind us, so I'm just about as packed in here as I can get. (We're just shy of 62' total, so that tells you how long the spots are.) The problem is that the power pole is set well to the rear of the site and way off to the side, and my power bay is in the middle of my rig... my 25' power cord just *barely* reached. If your power bay is toward the rear of your rig, you won't have any problem. Others might wanna plan on bringing an extension.

The manager placed us near the far end of the campground (pull-through site) where we enjoyed gorgeous mountain views and quiet nights serenaded by coyotes. If you enjoy airplanes and aviation, you'll like this campground originally built for sailplane enthusiasts. It's a basic campground (on par with your average State Park CG) with nice, scenic views. We walked over to the gliderport offices to pay, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Because of the cold weather (it snowed overnight), we used our own shower and bathroom, so no review on the CG's.The weather turned, 50 mph gusts on highway 58, so we stayed 2 nights to wait for calmer weather. This gave us time to explore! Our families had aviation backgrounds so although no sailplanes launched due to the weather, we enjoyed being near planes and the familiar environment of a small, general aviation airport. It brought back good memories. The access on paved then maintained gravel road is good, but for directions, call the office, first, as maps aren't as detailed as you'll need. The staff can guide you in.We didn't inquire about WiFi as we used our Verizon hotspot for our tablets and phones.Big rig and dog friendly. However tempting it might be, Fido isn't allowed to run free on the grass runway. A dirt area for long-term RV storage next to the campground gave our dog some off-leash time. For families, there's not much for kids to do if you're staying more than one night. The public library in Tehachapi seems to schedule lots of activities so give them a call. There are nice restaurants in town and some venues to visit, but it was apparent this rural town is still trying to recover from the 2008 economic downturn. We will stay here again, no question. The entire area is a gateway to the southern Sierra Nevada range, and it's a quiet, scenic place. Very green in early spring.Watch for wind advisories, as it can get quite gusty. That's why there's a glider airport and huge windmills on some mountain sides to generate power. :-)

There was a rally going on so site choices were limited. The row along the entrance road had a few sites left but they were very sloped and it was tough for us to get level. Some of the remaining sites had very low tree limbs which the woman in the office commented on that the tree trimmers didn't do such a good job. The regular rate is $30 but with the Escapees 15% discount we paid $25.50. Even that seemed a bit high considering all sites are water and electric only. There is a dump station by the office. The laundry room and bathrooms were very nice. Although it is adjacent to a small airport is it mostly glider planes so no real noise. No wifi but we had a good Verizon signal. It was fine for one night.
