We had no interaction with the staff since we arrived late, but there was a paper with instructions to our site at the main office bulletin board. We found a clean site on gravel and good separation between other campers. Lots of trails and nice beach areas around the Courtright reservoir. The place is very isolated and closest store and gas stations is almost an hour away at shaker lake area, so best to stick up well and fill the gas tank before starting the climb.

Pros: Beautiful place, well maintained and with access to various lakes and hiking trails. Cons: 1) absolutely no reception for Verizon and super spotty wifi. This campground is a great place to fish, hike, ride dirt bikes, mountain bikes or 4x4. Wishon Reservoir at 6600 feet is just down the road from the resort. The resort rents small fishing and pontoon boats for those who don't have their own. Rainbow and Native German Brown are the trout caught in this lake and Courtright Reservoir at 8200 feet also close by. Both reservoirs are surrounded by large outcropping of granite, however the beauty of Courtright is a must see!.Sites at Wishon are very large. Many can hold a large RV car and boat. The upper campground has less sites and as such has less traffic. Plus the smoke from the many campfires disperses better than in the lower campground. The drive from Fresno is 75 miles. With about 8 miles or so of a good pull to Shaver Lake. The last 15 miles will take some time with any RV because of the winding road and low speeds required. But it is well worth the trip. This remains our most favorite private campground of all time.I give it three stars for access just for the drive.

Have stayed her numerous times over the last 5 years. Always had a great experience. Sites are fairly big and no one listening to my wife and I's conversation. Chris will even help you park your rig..... Can't say enough about the location........drboog

They directed us to our site which we found super clean, freshly raked (dirt pad), spacious, and surrounded by huge pine trees. The showers slash bathrooms were clean and in good order. Not heated so quite brisk at 3 am. Haha Only down side was low water pressure, but solved it by just filling my tank and using the water pump. Absolutely love this place and will return with the family as it appears they have alot of activities during the main tourist season.
