They reduced the use hours of the pool and showers to 6:00 PM and didn't tell us at check in. The brochure we were handed said 9:00 PM. When we went at 7:30 we found everything closed including the showers, our main reason for this location. The "park" is basically a gravel parking lot with picnic tables and fire rings. Sites are super tight and stacked up on each other. The park has mobile cabins which they rent out monthly so you're basically staying in the middle of a very low end apartment complex. Would never ever go back.

Last minute booking for us as all of the surrounding parks were fully booked. We got site “W.” Stayed for one night. This spot seems to mostly cater to tent and cabin campers... had to use 4 blocks to level our tailer, the site was full of trash and dog poop too. One thing that is awesome is that there is a bike path (5 miles ish round trip) that leads to the beach. The path is along a creek, surrounded by trees, and goes through a golf course. It is relatively flat and our 7yr old had a blast.

There are a limited number of sites for motorhomes and trailers limited to 24’. They are all dry camping sites on dirt and in the midst of tent sites, cabins and car parking - all on dirt. In fact, as near as I could tell there is no paving on site. When busy, as it was for this trip, it gets pretty dusty. For tent campers, the bathrooms are portapots. They have a pool (open) and a hot spring (closed) but didn’t check them out. The attraction for me is that it is very close to the trailhead of the Bob Jones Bike Trail provides an easy ride to Avila Beach and the harbor area. As to the question about would I stay here again, I answered yes but would only if no other option.

Nice spot with no hookups. Some road noise but the pools were great after a long day.

  • $45 for no hookups!

We didn’t stay since there were no hookups. I guess the $45 was for use of the pool???
