We chose it as our base to visit our daughter in Rancho Cucamonga and it was perfect. The park is located on the northeast bluffs of the Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park and is operated by LA County. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We opted to pay a premium for a site on the bluff above Puddingstone Lake and the views did not disappoint. It was tight when all the spots filled up, but the sites were staggered so everyone had some green space and view, although the neighbor’s sewer hookup was literally two feet from our doorstep. Amenities include full hook-ups w/50amp, cable TV, restroom/shower facilities, laundry, playground and pool, fishing beach, sand volleyball, a camp store, meeting and business center, dump station, RV storage and propane delivery. It was obvious that many of the folks were staying here long-term, although I didn’t ask about discounts for extended stays. The park was very clean and well-maintained. We did not get a chance to use any of the amenities since we were focused on family time, but we wouldn’t hesitate to come back again. There were several walking trails to explore and Bonelli Park has a large swim beach, paved lakeshore path, a water park, boat rentals, mountain bike trails, and a nearby golf course. The National Hot Rod Association Museum is just a few miles away and is also worth a visit. All those amenities however come with a steep price tag. The daily rate was $77/night, but when the pet fee ($2/day), taxes, and other fees were added it came out to $88.64/night. We were thrilled to have morning visits from the resident coyotes. We saw them three times and on our last morning there were two of them playing around our picnic table. We had 1 bar of 4G, but it worked fairly well for surfing the internet.

We paid for a more expensive site overlooking the city and it was definitely worth it in our opinion. It’s a very quiet and clean park. We easily backed our 41ft fifth wheel into our site and had no issues getting in or out. The laundry room is impeccable, takes card, and there are so many machines - the best laundry room I’ve seen! Pool was closed either due to Covid or due to it being winter. We also loved that they have so many playground in the park that are a short drive down the road. Security at the entrance as well. While we were there, the Santa Ana winds picked up to 80mph gusts and we left our RV for the night because a tree fell next to our site and branches dented our slide and we felt unsafe. Another couple had an entire tree go through their wall. Although it was unfortunate, the park had their staff and landscaping out in droves to clean up immediately after the winds stopped. They handled it really well and were very on top of the damage! Beware of the wind forecast if you plan on camping here!

There were so many political flags I was shocked! I thought I was at a rally! The campsite really need to ban them because it’s such a polarizing subject and I see no reason to have them at the campground. The site was okay, and the view was nice. I am not sure if we would return due to the flags and signs.

We camped here two weekends in a month while we sold our house. There are crews of RV detailers that go around with what must be harbor freight gas powered pressure washers. This was not the case with the old campground consigned. We have camped here for about 35 years. We will not be back.

We are Southern California natives and have traveled all over the So Cal area and I cannot believe we never knew about this place before! It was just lovely. It's hard to believe this is really in the middle of a pretty urban area and close to a small airport! The sites are reasonably well-spaced and fairly level, there is lots of grass and huge trees everywhere. Each site has a relatively new picnic table and there are fire pits. The restrooms appeared clean and well-maintained, although we did not use them. There is a small market, but it isn't well-stocked. The laundry room is huge, with at least 15 washers & dryers and would rival any laundromat in town! During the summer in non-COVID times, there appears to be plenty to do here for families, although most things were closed in March during COVID. The views of the lake at sunset are spectacular and it's a great place if you have dogs because there are grassy areas for them to walk on; not just paved roads. We will definitely be back here next time we're back in California!

The Bluffs were nice and you could see the lake and airfield, but otherwise, it felt pretty private (well except for the fact that you have a lot of RVs next to each other - there are lots of open spaces around the RV park). The place is huge and got completely full in the B section during the weekend. Spots are close together, but there is grass between the sites which is nice for your kids or dogs. My kids loved the hills that they could roll down, and although the playground only consists of 8 swings and a slide, my kids loved playing there and at least it was open during COVID! The market is really nice, and the place is kept up really well. Lots of more permanent residents, but they seem to keep their stuff clean. You can ride your bikes around the various sections although the lower section is quite the elevation change. It’s right next to the Bonelli park, so for a $12 day use fee, you can enter with your car and go fishing, rent a paddle boat (which is super tiring to paddle) and hike/bike around. Really nice location and except for the distant train, you don’t feel like you’re in a big city! Oh, but on the weekends, if there is drag racing going on at the Fairplex, you can hear that all day. Not every site had a fire pit - we asked someone across the way if we could use theirs that night. Bathrooms with showers are reasonably close to sites, and dumpsters are throughout (although we noticed some areas had trash cans and some didn’t. The pool was close to our site but was closed due to COVID. Check in was a breeze and contactless. Sites can be small so make sure you look at the length when you book online. We had a picnic table at our site, and I think most sites had them. Also, close to Mt Baldy. We were able to go up for the morning to let the kids play in the snow after a big snowstorm came through. Took about 30 minutes to get up there, and the roads were clear. You can tell that the people who work here care about the place, and everyone was really friendly.

Several times we sat and waiting for groups to get out of the middle of the roads. Our site was nice, but it was near an airport and when planes took off they sounded like they were going to fly through the rig. They were loud, but they stopped taking off around 10pm. Getting out was a lot easier than getting in and if we were going to stay again, I'd stay in a different part.

There aren't too many places to pull a 22' trailer into and camp. So we were thankful for Bonelli and we'll probably camp there again when we come down to visit (if Covid is still around). It's a very crowded campground, at least in mid-October, with people blasting music as if you are not 20 feet away from them. There is no privacy in most spots down in the lower loops (Area E & F). If we come back we'll try to get a spot up on the bluff a bit more but those are stacked up too. It just seemed quieter up there. There is no wifi unless you sit outside the registration office door on a little cement bench. That was a bummer! Also, they do not let you in until exactly 1 pm!But it served it's purpose and the staff who we dealt with were very friendly and helpful.

This CG is built on a hill so it has different levels and areas with a variety of site types and sizes. Sites are well placed at 45 degree angles. Laundry room was large and sufficient. We did not check out the restrooms/showers. We would stay here again if we could get the same or similar site.

It made a huuuuuuuuge difference, it turns out. Around 10PM every night, the skunks came out in full force. It didn't matter how many people were out and about, how many camp fires were going, or cars going by - they didn't care. We were in a spot pretty close to a dumpster so we constantly had skunks underneath our trailer or at least within a stone's throw. They were pretty bold. Our dog got sprayed by a young one before we had discovered skunks were a thing here, unfortunately. That was a late night. The lower loop wasn't as spacious as the ones higher up (near the entrance of the park) but it was fine for the week of July 4th and we spent most of our time visiting family nearby, anyways. So, yeah, I'd stay here again but maybe in skunk off-season or if I could guarantee a spot on one of the upper loops.

There are amazing views if you can get one of the spots on the edges of the hill. You'll probably be on a slope of some sort so be sure to bring your chocks/blocks/stabilizers. This is definitely an RV park where I'd invite friends and family over to hang out because there's so much open space - you won't feel like you're infringing on other peoples' property.

Good thing as they were booked that weekend. This is kind of an odd situation. It is a private RV park but it is within a Los Angeles County Park. Therefore it is patrolled by LA County Sheriff's. There is easy access from I10 but it seems to take a while to get to it in the park. However this makes it quieter. It is also close to Fairplex (LA County Fair). The spots that were in our loop (A on top of the hill) were basically level from side to side but very off front to back. I had to crank my tongue down all the way to the limit of the jack and we were still about 1/2 a bubble too high in the front. The major detraction from this park is the large amount of permanent RV's. It actually made it hard to exit the loop with all the extra vehicles parking very close to the street. Maybe the other loops are better, or worse! The grounds are well maintained but you can feel the age of the park. It was surprisingly green given the drought we are going through. Perhaps they pump it from the lake below. We would visit again as it is only 30 miles (1 1/2 hours) from downtown LA.

  • Accessible to LA, decent view

When you drive past them, you get to a more open area, where there is space between spots. We had a nice view of the lake below us.

  • Sites on the hill make all the difference.

We've stayed in sites both down by the lake and on the hill. Lake sites are packed in tight and very much a party seen on the weekends can be very noisy. Sites on the hill are great with fantastic views, quiet and lots of room, especially the outer circle.Have never seen any skunks anytime we've been there.
