Confirmed jobs in the area for next month. Arrival - Office is run out of house.. no signs on house indicating where to go. I found a man outside. Without being welcomed or even address I figured I’d be the friendly one and say hi… “Hi. My husband and I are here for our month long reservation.” “You can’t stay here. Your rig is too old.” the man said. I explained how we are here for work, we don’t have any other options, and how I was never told of a 20 yr old rig rule or policy during my TWO conversations with the park. The man just kept saying “your not going to be allowed to stay here”. The one “I’m sorry” I was told certainly cannot cover the consequences of their last minute decision to not except our Skoolie (school bus tiny home). My last request “please, before your reservations arrive, inform them that there is a 20 year or newer policy” to which I was shrugged off. I wasn’t even asked how old our bus was until I was told we were allowed to stay there 3 times. Sounds like this was a skoolie issue not an age issue. But, just sharing what happened ????
I been here for 4 months

As others noted, the people are friendly and the sites are spacious. They have a set of 70-80' pull-throughs near the front of the campground for shorter-term visitors. They have a set of 70-80' pull-throughs near the front of the campground for shorter-term visitors. We stayed for 10 days as part of a slow move up the west side of the Sierras. I honestly thought Porterville was going to be a bit of a run-down farming town, but it is a growing city with most stores and amenities and is about 6-7 miles from the campground. We spend a day up in the Sequoia National Forest. Head up the 190 from Porterville, we did the Trail of 100 Giants walk but there are many options, then complete the loop driving back through California Hot Springs. It is about 2 hours to the walk and 1.5 hours back. A must-see and being NF dogs are allowed. We and our dogs enjoyed the stay as there is plenty of space for their walks. Our T-Mobile coverage was on band 71 - so it needs a fairly recent phone or cell modem that works on the low band, which gave good speed. Other T-Mobile bands were not much use. For us, AT&T was by far the best signal and throughput.
Friendly, country feel, lots of trees

There is some road noise depending on what part of the park you are in. I did not use the laundromat nor bathrooms. I enjoyed my stay here.
