You can tell as soon as you pull up in front of the office that this is a “destination” KOA: there were crowds of kids at the pool, on the jump pillow, and at the small petting zoo. Other campground amenities include a small rock wall (for climbing, I assume, I didn’t see it myself), a large playground, a bocce ball court, the typical enclosed KOA dog park, a convenience store, and a recreation hall with a large tented patio that served as a movie theater at night. And we were given a sheet of daily activities at check-in along with paper wristbands to wear if we wanted to participate. So if you have kids or simply want some entertainment out of your campground, this place fits the bill.We like to pick KOAs for overnight stops when we can because usually KOAs, even the fancier ones, are easy to get into and out of. That wasn’t the case for us at this park. We picked our site (P211) online knowing only that it was long enough and had full hookups. But the interior roads we needed to take to get into our site were a bit narrow, and we had to be careful with maneuvering our 37-foot fifth wheel around the turns so we didn’t swipe any parked vehicles. Our site was in the “Vineyard Terrace” section, where (true to its name) the sites are terraced and our driver’s side neighbor site was four feet higher than ours on the other side of the fence. We had no trouble pulling into the site, but we made sure we positioned ourselves so we had enough room to open our slides. The site exited onto a single lane road, and right across the road was a deluxe cabin with a parking spot facing the road. The truck in that parking spot was out of the road, but its position would have made it hard to get out: fortunately we met the owner and he moved the truck out of the way before we left. Even so, we came close to hitting the fence of our down-slope neighbor with the RV on the way out.Our second challenge getting out was avoiding the dump station, which sits in-between the two exit lanes. The designated exit road would have forced us to make a right turn into those exit lanes, and there was a real question about whether we could make that turn, so we went the wrong way down a (two lane wide) one way road that allowed for a straight approach to the exit. It seems like a bad design: anyone using that dump station ends up blocking one of those exit lanes, and I can’t imagine what happens when there’s a line to use that station. All that said, we managed to get out without a scratch, and there were other large rigs in neighboring sites, so it’s just a matter of deciding if you’re up for the challenge or if you’d rather pick a different spot.In terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna during our stay was about18Mbps down and 15Mbps up, and we had no problem surfing the web or watching streaming video the next morning. The best speed I got with my AT&T phone showed 13Mbps down and 4 up.

The reviews are kind of a mixed yet they are all relatively accurate. Your view of this KOA will depend on the your purpose for being there. Yes, you can hear the freeway traffic from a distance but it was not distracting and was expected for the convenience of being an easy In-N-Out trip. My purpose was to get out for a short trip close to home with a pool and stuff for the kids to do. This is the first time I allowed myself to book a campsite without trees. Super nervous about that decision, but ended up being a very pleasant. Our spot as H99. It was very nice. Honey wagon very morning. Staff nice. Property clean.

Everybody is packed in EXCEPT the vacant few fancy, expensive patio sites no one can afford. The droning of the highway 101 traffic is relentless. This is understandably "dairy country", and it rained a little while we were there. It smelled terrible of a barnyard with bugs and flies galore. It's a huge place with a friendly staff. By far the most expensive campground on our month long trip.

Family liked the petting zoo. Good location to head to the beach and downtown Petaluma. There are a lot of spots at this campground with a lot of people. The campground did a good job enforcing the quiet time. Our spot was right near the gated entrance, which on Friday evening was real busy! Would definitely look for a site away from the front gate, which there are plenty.

All the facilities were cleaned multiple times per day. And the staff was really terrific. The ONLY detractor was the smell of the surrounding fields. At the end of the season they dump manure on the fields. The resulting smell and accompanying flies were annoying. We were told this is typically only the month of September. It didn't deter the campers tho. The place was packed every weekend!

It's a great place for families with kids and my daughter has loved this place since she was young. however, on my last visit over the July 4th weekend 2019, I was placed in a site with "VIP Septic Service." The premise is that they come every morning and empty your tanks for you between 8AM and 10AM. It sounds good in theory, but in practice it's pretty terrible. First, the noise the truck makes is bad and if you want to sleep on past 8AM, forget about it. Secondly, the truck stinks driving around all through the park toting a load of human waste. Thirdly, they advertised it as "full hookups" when in fact it is not. Fourth, for some unknown reason, they turned my sewer valve to the side from the downwards position it was in. Now the septic compartment door has to remain open when connected, it used to empty downwards through a hole in the bottom. No one told them to reconfigure my septic system. Lastly, and the biggest problem is that you are still limited by the size of your tanks. When you have hookups you want to indulge with longer showers and washing dishes and not have to worry about filling your grey tank too quickly. If you have a few people taking showers, you can fill it very fast and you have no way to empty it until they come in the morning, so, even though you paid for full hookups, you have to worry about your tanks and that's not cool. It's advertised like this - "Back In, 50/30/20 Amps, Full Hookups Backin Valley View VIP Pump Daily" - It says Full hookups but there is no sewer. I originally though it was optional to have them do it for you, I didn't realize until I got there that there were actually no sewer hookups and it's just a way for them to charge full hookup prices on sites without actually having full hookups. Moving to a different site on July 4th wasn't an option so it wasn't a very enjoyable 3 days. It's a shame too because this KOA is very nice. Don't fall for the VIP septic service trick, there is no sewer and you will be awakened early morning by the sounds and smells of a waste pumping truck and still have to monitor your tank usage. NOTE: this only applies to the sites that offer VIP Septic, the other full hookup sites are fine and actually quite nice.

We didn't see one spot that we wouldn't want to stay in. You can opt to be close to kid activities or away in a quieter area of the camp.Activities include a pool, a petting farm, a giant playground complete with climbing ropes; slides and jungle gyms, a giant bouncy pillow (the safe version of a trampoline). This campground is huge and there are plenty of places to rides bikes and take walks. The grounds are surrounded by farm fields with cows, donkeys and horses. The WiFi is amazingly strong!!!We would definitely stay here again!! It was clean, quiet and beautiful!!!

This visit we found they have converted a lower area dedicated to tent camping to a very nice RV section. We had space 99, with a nice concrete patio with furniture, beautiful landscaping, gravel site. These sites had W/E (50A) and a honey wagon comes around every day from 0800-1000 hrs. and empties your tanks, whether you are there or not. This has always been a nice family vacation getaway type park with tons of activities for the kids, central location to wine country or San Francisco, and at $65 per night the value beats all those east coast snow-birding "RV resorts" at $100+ per night, hands down. We stayed here to entertain our grandchildren, a 6 y.o. and a 2 y.o. and it was a great time. Woody (the owner) has taken good care of this KOA park.

This park caters to families and there are tons of activities for kids. I don't have kids but it was fine for me off season as the kids were in school but it was still full of kids on the weekend. I would not personally stay here during the summer because I can imagine the kid situation is going to be insane. Interior roads were in good condition and easy to navigate for big rigs. There's a newer section towards the back that's much more quiet. If I were to stay here again I would request that section. The staff was very nice and all of the facilities were top notch and very clean.

Rates went up to $82 on weekend. We wanted to be close to Fairfield as we were dropping our rig off at the Airstream dealership after our stay here. We were here after Labor Day so the summer events at the KOA had ended but the kids were back in school. They offer full hookup 50/30 and no hookup RV sites. Also tent areas and cabins. As with any campground like this your neighbors are close. There some trees between sites. Our site was sloped a little so a lot of leveling was needed in the front. They have a pool, hot tub, petting zoo, playground, you name it. Nice family campground. One night we were having a couple drinks outside and all of a sudden we heard "Thunderstruck" AC/DC start playing. A golf cart with about 10 little carts attached going around the campground filled with kids and some adults. It was actually pretty comical. They have a little camp store. Prices are higher but it is convenient. We walked down and bought some beer and a bottle of wine. Also they fill your propane. You just have to drop it off and they will deliver to your site. The laundry facilities were nice. $3 a wash. There was an arcade. We checked it out one night. The next day they took all the equipment out. Looked like they were redoing the game room as they started painting shortly after. There are many amenities nearby. A Cattlemens restaurant is close by. Overall it was pretty quite at our site but we can imagine it probably is busier and louder during the summer months.

Ugh, it has a petting zoo and a playground. Who in their right mind thought 'gee, we should add the noise and awful smell of a petting zoo at this place where people sleep outside'? Set up as our home base for 4 months. We are monthly so i don't know the daily rates, but you can assume standard full service/facility rates here. We've been really happy here, great neighbors, and the staff has been fantastic. Our stay has been fall and winter, which has been really peaceful considering how large this facility is. I think around 300 sites total. In the summer this will be packed with families, with kids so keep that in mind. There are many options for kids to play, and they do set up activities to keep them busy. The only thing we see that could use a major improvement is the store, which is quite small and has a limited selection of food, but they do have the basics in case you run out. Groceries are nearby 10 minute drive. Some sites are pavement, others gravel. some more level than others so bring plenty of blocks. South side lower area (near playground) is busier with kids, on the hill not so busy, North side is more wooded, feels more like camping. Cabins of different sizes are everywhere, and look to be in great condition. Overall the owners here do a great job, this is a huge facility and it's run about as good as anyone could expect. Bathrooms are clean, pool and hot tub are well maintained as well. We watch the workers do daily tasks here, they are really on top of it.

There were RVs backed up down the driveway, and an employee was directing traffic. There were 6 people checking in campers and they were all busy. There were kids everywhere riding bikes, skateboards, scooters and everything else. A look at the very large pool showed it was packed with kids too. There were tons of family activities if you like that sort of thing and this is a very child-oriented park so if you don't like kids, stay away. The staff were extremely pleasant and they located us in a quiet area of the campground, and our site, though very expensive, was quite nice and included log seating furniture. Some of the sites are very close together though. They have a gate with a key code you use to enter the park. They also give you wristbands to wear while in the park, mostly for use with the pool and other things. We never put ours on since we spent very little time anywhere besides our campsite. The on-site store is very nice and had all the necessities and some fun gifts too.I would use this place as a stopover again, but not a destination.

  • Great Campsite... Expensive but great.

Very much enjoyed our stay here. Very nice campground, definitely catered towards families with kids. We were here during the off season so there it wasn't too busy. But I can imagine during peak season this place would be chock full.
