Verizon cell service is non-existent at the lower campground loops (the ones near the lake). Only reception is at the top of the campground before you drop to the lake. Although, my wife was able to receive and send text messages (not immediately). We did enjoy the grounds. Was able to get a full hookup site in the Members Only loop (X). Water, power and sewer were fine. Bathrooms and showers were clean and maintained. Just too bad the pool wasn't open. However, my wife is still complaining about her mosquito bites (days later). There weren't swarms of mosquitos, but the few around were "deadly". Marysville and Yuba City are only 30 or so minutes away from the campground. Able to go to a grocery store and many nice restaurants.

Super weary coming after seeing reviews but this is a great family getaway location. No need for the pool - the lake water is warm and lots of shade (still recommend a pop up). It was triple digits and a weekend but didnt feel too nuts - and we like our space! Ha. Low on full hook ups but plenty with power. Kayak, float, eat an ice cream - and chill. Facilities are circa 70s and 80s but it is clean and lotsOf fun for our teens.

Avoiding a Friday arrival will also help. Somehow we lucked into finding FHU back-in shaded site #X16. The trees were most appreciated as it was above 100 degrees for several days! Our site also had incredibly strong water pressure (major bonus!) The nearby Trading Post store has a small grocery selection along with a deli that sells hot foods. An employee named Eva works in the deli and she is incredibly nice. She always had a smile on her face and her positive energy was just wonderful. Their manager is also fantastic. Campground lodge is now open. We loved the downstairs air conditioning and TV, but sadly the free wifi was abysmal. There is no cell reception in Section X but it is close to the pool, store and lodge. Pool closes at 3:00pm and we couldn't figure out why. That is bizarrely early folks! TIP: Go to Section I if you need cell service. My AT&T phone and my wife's Verizon phone had 3 bars there. My phone also had 1 bar & wife's phone had 2 bars near the boat launch dock. Honeywagon service is available for water & electric only sites. The cost is $40.00 for up to 3 pulls. Service is on Thursdays and Sundays. Section G bathrooms were old and very dirty, whereas the section B bathrooms were much better. This campground does not offer optional paid wifi. Recycling is available near the dumpsters.

Great mini Golf course!BE AWARE! When we got here the lady that checked us in told us that their WIFI was down and had been down for 2 months and they had no idea when it was going to get fixed. If you rely on the internet (like we do), then park at the top of Section "D". We use Verizon and got a pretty good signal there. This is my biggest complaint about the park.Lots to do here for families in the Summer and more so when Covid is over.

Let me start with the PROS: we stayed in the G section which was more elevated with lovely hillside views, lots of greenery, and fairly quiet, which we like. The public restrooms were very clean, to be honest I was impressed with the cleanliness! Plenty of toilet paper, clean floors, toilets, showers and sinks! CONS: we selected this TT location because we were told sites had full hook ups, this is not true. Only a FEW sites had full hooks-ups ( water, electric & sewer). Most sites have electric and water hook ups only. Several sites were “down” throughout the resort. Seemed like a lot of service needed to be done on the resort sites. Again, several needed to have the electric repaired, some sites had water only.... it took us awhile as members to find a site!! Seemed most sites were retail option, disappointing that as members we had issues finding a suitable site quickly. The members only section was completely filled and the sites were packed closely like sardines. Once we found a site we were pleased during our stay. We found the other campers friendly and helpful. Cell phone and internet service was terrible and we couldn’t get any signals, even with boosters! Despite that, all in all we’ll be back.

It might be a more difficult spot to get a larger rv or 5th wheel in (we have a 32' class A). We had a great view and 4G Verizon with 3 bars. No issues with service in this spot. The service in other areas of the park is definitely spotty to non-existent. We had to scout sites. Service was also good in section H. There both sections up out of the valley and are further from the lodge and lake. You are sure to see deer here chomping on a bush or a fox scurrying by. Down the hill, by the lodge, you have Lake Mildred with plenty of rental options from kayaks to pontoons at reasonable rates. I hear things get pretty busy around here when the kids aren't in school. Everyone we've run into when we venture out of our site have been incredibly friendly. There seem to be quite a few regulars here. From permanent sites to monthly sites. All around a good experience and I definitely want to come back again. Plan ahead on your food though. You won't be near much in the way of normal grocery stores. They do have a little store on site with the essentials if you get desperate enough to pay those prices.

If you work from the road you may want to reconsider staying here during the work week. Sections H and I will get you 1-2 bars of 4G with Verizon which is generally not enough to work unless you have a cell booster. After speaking to Verizon they explained that the campground is located far from a cell tower and the lake in the campground actually kills the reception plus you're in a valley for the most part. The upload and download speeds were <1 MBS. With our booster is was just enough to work. We originally parked in section B but it was a total deadzone. After driving around with our phones looking for service we moved to section H which was very peaceful and had decent 4G. I don't think many people even knew it was up there because we were basically alone up there in the summertime the whole two weeks we stayed there. Section I doesn't have working electricity (except for about three of the spots) so its used only for tent camping according to the staff. We would stay here again on vacation but wouldn't risk it during a work week. Also note civilization (groceries) is about 45 min away in Grass Valley so make sure you stock up beforehand.
