Really enjoyed our night at InnTown. The site was large enough that we didn’t have to detach the trailer. Jenny was friendly and helpful. Be sure to walk around the property. It’s really lovely. We will be back for a longer stay.

I think this campground deserves all the praise it’s received. As a camper that prefers as much space as I can get between my spot and the next, I appreciate the park architects (parkitechts?) opting for a well forested, undulating landscape with fewer spots instead of a flatter, pack ’em-in strategy. Not to knock the efficiency of higher-volume grounds, getting more campers out to the great outdoors. It was just great to feel like we were camping in a calm and peaceful forest, while only a mile from the historic Nevada City downtown. I appreciate the ability to reserve our particular spot ahead of time and to just know what to expect when we arrived; where the site location was, the utilities available at our site and where we’d be in relation to the rest of the campground’s amenities. Speaking of amenities, the restrooms and showers were consistently very clean. At this location, we decided that the use of the spotless restroom/shower facilities made more sense than using our camper’s wet bath (which would’ve required additional clean up at the end of our stay anyway). Also appreciated was the 9 pm courtesy text from the campground management as to the evening’s quiet hours. I’ve spent my share of time at campgrounds with little to no oversight of the nighttime noise levels. From our area of the grounds, campers seemed to be very respectful of the quiet hours each night. For the $65 per night fee at our site, it seemed like a reasonable price for what was offered (the fee included water and electricity minus sewer at our specific spot). One possible glitch in the registration process is that the reservation form didn’t make it clear as to how to register a second vehicle. I somehow missed that detail when booking, anticipating a friend driving up separately to stay with us. There was an extra charge on our arrival that amounted to about $11 per night for the second vehicle pass.

The week prior to our arrival, the camp sent us an informative email including a link to the camp site map, and check-in procedures, what to do in the area. The check-in was well organized and brief, including a map showing how to get to our camp site. The roads and are nicely graded dirt/gravel, and our back-in site was easy to get in to. Hook ups were nicely done, with a night light for the electrical utility box. The overall campgrounds were nicely kept, trash and recycle receptacles conveniently placed. Bathrooms were kept immaculate. There is a strict 9pm noise curfew, and friendly camp hosts were out and about kindly reminding those who needed it about the curfew. A train museum borders the park as you drive in. Historic Nevada City is a mile walk (or drive) with lots of fun shops, eats and drinks. Overall a wonderful stay for us, I would highly recommend.

The tent areas were beautiful, wooded and shaded. It would be great if they had more RV spots with full hook-ups. Site RV-13, is a ADA site, very well done. The view from this site is of the train museum parking lot. Most sites on that side of the park had views of the train museum (storage area too). I thought the nightly price was high at $68. The internet was not great and there was no cable TV. Just saying for the price, no hot tub, no outdoor fires allowed, no usable internet for streaming videos or YouTube. We brought our bikes but did not find that Nevada City to be bike friendly. I would return with a group, but otherwise it wouldn't be a place I would go running back to. Maybe a great "getaway" if they offered a discount, such as Passport America, Good Sam, etc.

The campground is a little bit challenging to find, as it is behind a cemetery and the signage is a little overgrown. Look for the Railroad Museum, and it is right next door. The campground is beautiful. It is very wooded with lots of tall pine trees throughout the property providing shade and scenery. There are only about 18 or so RV camping spots, and the rest are either tent camping locations, or “glamping” sites. The glamping sites are tent-cabins that are available for rent for those that want to not deal with setting up a campsite. The bathrooms and showers are immaculate. I heard several campers comment on the very clean conditions of the facilities. We found three bathroom complexes around the property, so none were too far.We were in our 35’ fifth wheel. The RV sites were 30amp and 20amp only, no 50amp connections. Also, only a couple of the sites had sewer available, ours did not. There is a dump station on-site.Propane fire pits are allowed, but no wood burning fire pits. Also, no smoking is allowed on the property. There is a pool on-site, and weekend activities are available as well. We paid $60/night during the week and $67/night on the weekend. It was a beautiful campground, and quiet as well. It is good for families or couples. We would definitely stay there again.

Everything is done right. Great community gathering place in the Club House, with lounge area and kitchen. They even have cast iron cookware, very cool. Ping Pong table... & a swimming pool going in too, ready for next season, 2017.This isn't just any old RV campground, the emphasis is on community, with shared outdoor cooking and campfire facilities, tent camping, their own glamping tents and several spots for larger trailers too. Hook-ups available too. (& a dump station) Toilets, showers and dish clean up area all spotless, my 14yr old son said, "the restroom was like being at a restaurant" !Wifi was very strong, even worked in the Airstream, which can be tough. Site 1 was 90% shady, but there are other RV sites in full sun for most of the day. The owner and staff were all super friendly and helpful, we've all read those horror stories about campsite managers being rude, these folks bent over backwards to make our stay pleasant. We loved our experience and will return for next Labor Day weekend.

With its close proximity to San Francisco and no mountains to traverse, I was really looking forward to my long-weekend get-away. Upon arrival, I was greeted by one of the friendly campground staff. My site, 15, was directly to the right upon entering the campground; a large pull-through spot. I think one of the only spots with full sun and no shade. It was perhaps not the best spot in Summer, but could be great in Winter. It is also situated next to the wonderful Narrow Gauge Railroad and Transportation Museum. Even though the proximity to the museum is very close, there was very little noise, and I think the train only ran occasionally on Saturday. Looking out at the museum made for a fun view while sitting under my awning enjoying a cold beverage. My site was electric and water, only. There is a dumping station on the way out of the campground. A very clean and well maintained dumping station, at that. All sites are fairly large and spread out. I had plenty of privacy, even though I was close to the museum and the campground office/store central hub. However, it looks like there is a pool in the future of the campground, across from this site, so not sure of that will change the dynamics and the noise levels once installed. One of the things I had read about prior to arriving at the campground was the historic Chinese miner’s cemetery. To be honest, I wasn’t sure I wanted to camp around a cemetery! Turns out that it’s a very serene and wooded location within the center of the campground, and not spooky, more spiritual, a neat place to walk around. The road around the campground is dirt, but if going the posted speed limit of 5mph, there wasn’t much dust kicked up.As other’s have mentioned, there is a lot to see and do around charming Nevada City; shopping and great eats, a Saturday’s farmer’s market, and all within walking, or a short hike, from the campground. It is also a short drive to the Yuba River, a fly fisherman’s paradise. I would say my only ding is the extra $$ per pet policy, two dogs over a long weekend added up. Speaking of pets, I highly recommend Empire Kennels in Grass Valley, where I boarded my dogs for the day while I went fly fishing on the magical Yuba River. And, for a great fly fishing experience, Reel Anglers Fly Shop in Grass Valley is just awesome. They are within 5 minutes of each other and 5 miles from the campground. It can’t get much better than that. Oh, and wifi was pretty good too!

We watched with interest over the last 2 years on Facebook as the Inn Town Campground was sculpted from a forest into a forested, modern, multi-use campground! When the reservation books opened, we called right away to get on the schedule and check it out! This campground offers services for tent campers, travel trailers and RV's, as well as cute "glamping" tents. We camped in our Airstream in a spot with hookups, so we didn't utilize the restroom facilities much, but we did take a look. The restrooms were spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout the day by the camp staff. Our spot had a beautiful redwood picnic table, which we used for each meal. A short walk up a gravel path above our site was the closest restroom, with indoor and outdoor shower features. Near the restroom was a large outdoor common area with gas fire pits, chairs and tables. Further along the path is the amphitheater, where we enjoyed a family friendly movie on Saturday night. The camp store has a great selection of drinks and some snacks, as well as cute Inn Town Campground logo items. I can't say enough about how friendly and knowledgeable the staff are. It is obviously a very well run place, with a rare attention to detail. We loved camping in the trees, and know that the campground has only been open for 1 month. It was a tad dusty, as cars drove by us on the campground roads. We are in the middle of summer, so that's to be expected. I think that additional gravel would help keep the dust down a bit. There are tons of things to do in the Nevada City area and we look forward to doing some new things with each future visit!

You can actually see the railroad turnaround from some of the campsites. The campground hosts RV sites, tent sites, and glamping tents on a 15 acre site, rich in local mining history and lots of forested area. Besides being brand new and spacious, the facilities were a very welcomed surprise. The large common room served as a gathering place for the kids in camp, who all became fast friends. The communal kitchen is well stocked and was also a great community space to get to know other campers. Lastly, the staff at the campground were a huge part of what made our visit so great. Owners Dan and Erin bring a great, down-to-earth family atmosphere, and their entire staff is equally warm and welcoming. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
