We arrived at 11am and the host allowed us to check in early since the spot was vacant. The spots are good sized, though there isn’t much privacy since the campground is out on a field with no tree cover. But the lack of tree cover is what made the fishing amazing - if you are fly fishing you can cast all day long without having to worry about getting your line caught on something. We caught 9 fish. Even the kids caught fish with their little poles using power bait. Overall, a great day of fishing. We saw many other campers get on the mellow river with tubes and paddle boards, so there is a lot more to do than just fish.

  • Possible the most beautiful campsite we've visited (mountains & stars were incredible)

We were at site 26, but almost all sites along the river have similar (and amazing) views. The temperatures were comfortable during the day, but in the evenings there were very strong winds, and eventually it got pretty chilly. My wife and I enjoyed laying outside at night (under some covers to stay warm) and look at the milky-way. It was so clear on the days were we there. During the day the views of the mountains are breathtaking. The river nearby is very pleasant, and we didn't see many bugs. Although we were told you could swim, we didn't.The downside of their being no hookups are the generators, but everyone turned these off at 10pm.You did need to pay extra for showers which is a shame, but they were pleasant enough. There wasn't a dump station on site, so I drove to Convict Lake and dumped there.

  • A great place to unwind with family

There is a barbed wire fence that separates the campsites from the river area so that was a plus since we had a 5 year old with us.The sites are large and spacious, mostly grassy, and afforded breathtaking 360 degree views of Mammoth Mountain and the Sierra Nevada range. There are picnic tables and fire rings at each site. There are no hook-ups but there was a hand pump for water right across the road from us. There was also a port-a-potty a few feet from the water pump that was well maintained. There are clean restrooms with flush toilets, sinks and electrical outlets and showers that use tokens up by the little store. You could buy ice and other necessities in the store. Each dawn and evening coyotes could be heard "singing" across the river. The Owens River is a fisherman's paradise and lots of folks took advantage of that. Our camp hosts, Del and Colleen Andrés, couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. They made sure our every need was met. We will definitely return to this campground. It was quiet, other campers were friendly and courteous, no loud music or noises at any time day or night could be heard.....just us and the beautiful sights and sounds of nature. Definitely recommend this campground.

We stayed here two nights during the week in late May and almost had the place to ourselves. The friendly host put us in a huge space that we could park sideways in to enjoy the view. The campground has no hookups but you can fill your water tank when you get here. Generators are allowed 8am-10pm. They have a bathhouse but charge $2 for showers. Our site had a great firepit and table. Satellite was easy to get and we had great AT&T coverage on our phones. Very quite park but I'm sure it gets busy during the peak fishing season. The campground is right on the Owens River which is know for great fishing. The campground has a well stocked store and has ice and firewood.
