Very basic sites, minimal grass, lots of dirt. It gets hot and the trees aren’t large enough for much shade. The dog park was a nice perk, but did not utilize the pool or bathrooms.

  • Decent park. Good location. Bit pricey. Stay away from Site 27

People are friendly. It felt pricey to me but it is close to Sequoia NP and this is 2021 so I understand how such a basic park can charge so much. HOWEVER, STAY AWAY FROM SITE 27. The RV gravel pad is level enough to get a motorhome level. But the rest of the site is a side hill. This is the first time I have ever paid for a site at which there wasn't enough levelness to use the RV rug or camp chairs, let alone a grill. The picnic table was tucked away from the pad, next to the next site because that's where it was most level. But it wasn't level there either! The table was sloping in two directions.Bottom line: decent park. Pricey for what you get. And Site 27 is way overpriced for what you get.

Most sites had a tree or two for shade. Not so good: overpriced (even for what you get), if there was availability closer to Sequoia, we wouldn't stay here again. We paid $78 a night while another couple we talked to was paying $40. We noted in our reservations that we have Good Sam's (which there is supposed to be a discount for). We got in late but I called ahead and it wasn't a problem and they didn't mention anything special we needed to do even after I asked. Then the next day we went to Sequoia early (before the office opened) and we didn't get back until after closing for the office. I went in the following day (early on Monday) and they said since they had already charged our card (for the full price) there was nothing they could do to give us our discount. I also asked if I could print one page out on their printer, they said no (which wasn't totally unexpected) but there was no help in where I could find a place. They were out of quarters when I needed to do laundry. 2 of the 3 washers you could only fill half way bc they didn't drain if you filled them all the way. Our site was very sloped and every one of us (5) fell down the rocks on the slope and scraped our legs. The water pressure is not good. The power turned off and on again every morning around 6am (which filled our GFI and turned off our fridge). From our spot (27) you could hear the highway.

The one star rating comes from the underhanded tactics used by management to bilk their customers of even more money. Yesterday we arrived back at the campground after a long day in the National Parks and headed right to the dump station. (We travel in a class B van so we have rather small tanks.) Imagine our surprise when we pulled up and started to get things out to dump that we found a lock on the dump receptacle! Now this was after office hours so there was nothing we could do. Today we learned that you must pay $15 per use for the privilege of using the dump station. That is on top of your site fee (not the cheapest). I inquired “you make registered campers pay a fee?”. Yes. Just to be sure I didn’t miss anything I check their website again and there is no mention of the fee, just advertised that they have a dump station. I also checked the email confirmation as well as the check in materials provided and again no mention of a fee. This strikes us as extremely odd, having stayed at several hundred campgrounds around the country this is the first time we’ve encountered a fee for registered campers to use the dump station. If you are going to charge an unusual fee it should be noted on the website. Other than being unexpectedly stuck with mostly full tanks the park is fine. Nothing to write home about. But buyer beware of the dump station. I wrote the owner an email first but the reply was simply that there is a fee to use the dump station.

Upon arrival we were very disappointed in a $25.00 charge because we arrived before 3:00! We stayed in Bakersfield, CA and had to check out at 11:00. We took our time but still arrived at 12:40. This campground also has a checkout at 11:00 with a &40.00 charge for late checkout. They said we could sit in the parking lot for 2 1/2 hours even though our site was checked and empty. We are full timers and have never been penalized for being early, we will not be back. They also did not ask if we were Good Sams members - obviously they are more concerned with making money then customer service.

Pleasant mornings and evenings with a breeze. The campsites are a decent distance apart. All have water, some have 110 and some have 30 amp. Nice store and common room. Good size swimming pool, nice and clean. There are single tent sites and large group tent sites. Most sites have trees for shade.

Most of our group took advantage of the hot showers and plenty of open space to toss the Frisbee. We drove into Kings Canyon NP during the day, a very windy road but only takes about an hour. We will definitely be back with our group but next time check out the Sequoia NP.

Stayed one night in order to visit Sequoia National Park. Nice with large dog park. Apparently they have had several ownership changes and current owner has made multiple improvements. Park is clean and has nice rec room. Site was flat with easy access once they trimmed a low branch for us. Quiet area and reasonable drive into Sequoia.

All gravel, but well maintained. Pool and dog park were really nice. Wish there was some kind of playground for the kids, but it was nice that balls and things were available to play with in the field. Also, a little expensive and they charge for everyone over 2 people, so even with Good Sam and tax we were paying over $180 for 3 nights, that was too bad.

The park says reservations are optional, I made reservations which I had hoped would afford us a shady spot, but that wasn't the case. The only thing that would have made our stay perfect would have been a shady spot as it hit about 100 degrees during our stay.

We work remotely from the road and need internet to work during the week, and Verizon coverage worked well here. The lady that works at the office was very friendly. The campground is very pretty and well kept and has a nice pool. My only complaint and the reason I can't give it a perfect rating is because of the "kid tax". That's what our community of Fulltime Families call the extra charge for kids. This campground charges $3/day per child! We stayed 8 nights and we have 2 kids so that added up to an extra $48 for our stay. Sometimes I can understand the kid tax at a campground that has lots of amenities specifically for children, but this campground has nothing for children, not even a playground. In fact, it is more dog-friendly than kid-friendly. They have a very nice dog park and they don't even charge extra for dogs! So all of you traveling with dogs and not kids are in luck. But for those of us traveling with kids, this place is overpriced for what you get. I really don't understand what the extra charge for kids was even for considering there are no extra amenities for kids. And our kids sleep in our RV that we bring with us in our bedding that we bring with us. Our 2 kids did not add any extra work for the campground like we would at a hotel, but even a hotel doesn't charge extra to bring them with us. It seems pretty senseless to me.
