We had looked for dispersed sites in the area but all of the National Park campsites are closed until May and we didn’t want to chance getting stuck in mud or snow. This RV park, as with several businesses in these parts cannot accept credit cards (why, I don’t know) and as we had the cash on hand (they take checks as well) opted to stay here. The hillside view of Mono Lake is beautiful, and although next to the highway there is practically no road noise. Our cell service was nonexistent here, but park Wi-Fi worked great! According to Barbara (the owner) it doesn’t reach very far from the office but our spot picked it up beautifully. The showers require a token (purchased at front desk) per 5 minutes, regardless we were glad for the cleanup. Laundry is very reasonably priced coin-op.We had meant for this to be just an overnight stop but high wind advisories and morning snow kept us an additional night. The winds at the foot of the Sierra Nevadas can be ferocious, and our neighbors with a pop-up camper left their rig to go sleep in a hotel for fear of being ripped to pieces. Barbara allowed us a very generous late checkout to allow for winds to abate before we dared hit the highway. We used the extra day here to drive 20 miles north and another 10 miles East to the ghost town of Bodie. Man alive (or not….), Bodie is the best ghost town we have ever seen, and we’ve been to a few! Tombstone? Not. This town has over 100 original buildings still intact in varying states of decay, many of the homes with scattered furnishings viewable through the windows. Okay, so here and there it looks to me like some of the artifacts have been staged, but overall it is worth the drive to spend two or three hours wandering it’s roads.Mono Lake is also very cool, if you drive to the southern lakeshore to check out the tufa formations. We very much enjoyed our stay here both for the area attractions and for the welcoming hospitality. We would definitely stay here again!

If I were going to pay a private campground I would definitely come here again.

Reservations are by phone. The lady we spoke with was nice. At check-in the woman was clearly not a people person. The laundry facilities are clean. They "have a bear" so all trash must be in your site's trashcan by 4:30pm. The dog walk area is the short walk way between parking spaces and the swings. With a dog station that includes doggie bags, a trash can and a water spigot/bowl. It does lead to a dusty trail through the shrubbery, which worked fine for our pups. The park is clearly older but not in disrepair. The grass was green. The sites were gravel but fairly level. The sites are relatively close together. There was good tree coverage. The sites were pretty small and the picnic tables were tiny too. The cell signal was great to work from, 2 bars verizon yeilded 105 mbps down and 15 mbps up. 2 bars t-mobile gave 30 down and 10 up. ATT was not great. No park wifi as far as we could tell. It was very full while we were there, and its location is nice for local exploring. It is within walking distance of town, mono lakes is practically across the street, Yosemite is a hop away and we loved the Mammoth Lakes area that is just a 30 minute drive away.A couple of days into our week long stay our power started to flicker, and our surge protector kept going red every few minutes which disconnected us from shore. After investigation our 50 to 30 converter had MELTED. So we replaced it, luckily there was a sports shop 3 minutes away that had a couple on hand. When we replaced it, the flicker and the surge protector going red mess continued. We contacted the office, and they sent out someone to take a look. We were told that the power was dipping due to the number of people using power in the park, likely for AC as it was 105 at the time. We were told that we should disconnect our surge protector because it was tripping due to the low voltages. We debated our choices and against better judgement removed the surge protector from the equation. I DID NOT like this solution and was NOT happy about it. While the power did continue to fluxuate, no damage was done to our rig... this time. They did not apologize, they had no other sites available to move us to and the rest of our stay went without incident.

I have reviewed this spot before, great location and fantastic staff. Grassy pitches with delightful shade. Open through October. The only downside is that they don't take credit cards (check or cash only.) One star off on noise because of Highway 395--not due to noise within the campground.

Kim was wonderful in figuring out how we could fit in what they had left when I called from the road after a long, hot day of driving. Because it was so late in the day, we could only camp in the group tent area - my camper van fit just fine and level, and my travel partner was able to set up his tent albeit a slopey grass area. You get one shower token to use (per person, per paid day) - shower fast because in literally 5 minutes, you'll get freezing cold water with no warning. The bathhouse was clean and everything worked. The center of the park is packed tight with trailers, Class Cs and As. If I were to stay there again, I'd use sites 39-44 as they have lots of breathing space with views to Mono Lake as well as hook ups it you need them. Pets allowed but DO keep your pooch leashed at all times or you'll get a stealthy visit from the owner who will sternly, but politely, remind you why they are strict about pets on leash (oops). There's a nice walking path through the sage with great views for you and your furbaby - please pick up your pet's poo - most people did so don't be that one... I found all the campers to be respectful, warm and friendly despite our need to stay socially distant and wear masks. The owner also walks the entire park frequently to make sure everything is kosher for all - including at 4:30am. I appreciated their diligence in keeping things safe and clean for their campers.

Their website is vague and missing a lot of information. When I emailed questions, even though they did answer them, it seemed as if I was a burden. Upon checking in the next morning, the man did not acknowledge me NOR look at me and the woman seemed annoyed at my presence. It was as if they were angry I was even there. They only take cash payments. I was so put off by their treatment of me, we found another site for two nights. They refused to refund us even though they were renting our already paid spot to additional guests - so, they were charging two guests for the site when only one was staying there. They put my reservation and night check-in envelope in the wrong name. It is not possible to get someone to communicate with outside of 8am-5pm. They require full payment up front or threaten to give your space away and refuse refunds. They demanded to have their shower tokens back even though they would not refund me for two nights I did not stay there and rented my already paid spot out to other guests. So, we stayed at another campground and went back to take our showers there and refill our water containers in the process. I threw the other remaining tokens in the trash. I have never been treated this way at any establishment. The office staff are just angry at life and want to make others miserable in the process.

We stayed 13 nights. It is in a great location, very clean, friendly staff, laundry on site, great cell service and a beautiful view of Mono Lake. It is walking distance to any of the stores and restaurants in Lee Vining, it's right on the north end of town. The bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities were very clean. The owners are constantly rolling around in their golf carts to pick up the trash from the cans, moving sprinklers around (very nice green, manicured grass) and one time they had to turn off the water for 15 min for a quick fix of an issue, and they notified everyone of their plans and the exact time they would do this. We really appreciated this. We will stay here again, for sure, if we are ever in the area.

We had a pull through site but with our slides out, we went from one side of our space to the other and the site is very unlevel, as are many sites. The front row of FHU sites are on gravel with grass between and are a little better spaced than our area. The best area is the few back-in side on the north side of the park. They have a beautiful mountain view our front and a partial lake view in the back, as well as a small grass area outside the door. You can also use a roof top satellite dish here. These sites are W/E only. While we didn't use the showers, we were offered tokens for five minutes of hot water. You are allowed one token a person each day of your stay. There is no WiFi and no cable. The park is heavily treed so roof top dishes usually don't work in most areas. However, we have a portable dish that we used from the front of our MH. If we were to return to the general area, we would stay in Mammoth Lakes area. The RV Parks are much nicer.

I'm in a great mood. It's a sunny day in Lee Vining and I'm looking forward to exploring the cute town and national park and forests nearby. I'm speaking to an older gentleman who's coming out of the RV park's office. "Is that your dog?" he replies, looking toward my 13 year old son walking our chocolate lab in the road near some tent sites. "Yeah.""The dog walk is over there," his reply is rude. My mood changes pretty quickly. "People sleep and walk in that grass."It was pavement but whatever. I continue into the office. A similar attitude of dismissal and unmannerly communication ensues. I check in, for the one night only. She charges me $35. I tell her we probably won't need shower tokens. She says they're free, the first four anyway. I say I'll check with my family if they want to shower in the public bathrooms instead of our Airstream. Suddenly the price changes to $39 and she asks for the difference. Later, my son returns to collect the tokens. "We don't give tokens out to children."I'm told the rules several times. No ground fires. No carpets on the grass. Like, five times each. I'm pretty annoyed at the entire experience with the staff.Otherwise, I spent as little time as possible at the typically packed up so they can rack the dollars up park. There are several permanent residents in trailers but the place is very well kept and neat. Cotton from the poplar trees is everywhere, which I rather enjoy. Did I mention there are no wood fires? Or carpets allowed on the ground? We filled up a ton of water, and paying for the full hookup spot is cheaper than it would have been to pay $12 at nearby dump stations, and a night of full hookups was nice. Walking to town was nice. The sounds of foreigners as they chose this (or simply weren't able to get into) over Yosemite was nice. So that's my review title.
