Quiet and cozy campground near the river with full hookups. We had a spot with river view for a small extra charge. There was no Verizon service, but Wi-Fi worked fine. Friendly host.

  • Will absolutely return!

Make sure you note the correct address, there are various campgrounds within a few miles named Klamath something-or-other.What a lovely spot! Right on the Klamath River, woods on the back. Hairpin turn getting in but quite manageable. Gary is very personable and helpful, you get a guide into your spot although its not really necessary. The campground is a wide open field, full hookups. Also plenty of tent spaces separate from the RV section. Laundry, bathrooms and showers. Play area for the kids. There is a clubhouse and coffee shop. Open in the mornings, although while we were there Gary hadn’t been able to find anyone to staff it yet so it was only open on weekend mornings where he could tended to it. The park is well cared for and clean. Awesomely fast wifi! Cable too, although we didn't use it, not enough useful channels. Cell signal quite spotty, though. Phone calls wouldn't hold, had to do wifi phone calls, which worked quite well once we figured out how to do it.Prairie Creek Redwood state park is just a few minutes down the road offering many hiking opportunities. Do be prepared to be pretty self-sustaining. The tiny little town across the bridge offers only a small mini-mart with mostly beer and wine, there are maybe four dining options. The Country Club Grill and Bar makes the best hamburgers I’ve ever had. Nearest town for any kind of groceries or entertainment is either Trinidad, about 40 minutes south, and Crescent City, about 45 minutes north.

Beautiful spot, nice hosts, not crowded, clean, well kept, full hookups, drivethrough sites right on the river, wifi, showers, laundry, small playground. Did I say not crowded? Not in April when we just drove in at 6pm without reservations.

You could not want a better place to park you house while you explore the area. The owner is one of the nicest people I've met in my travels and runs a very clean park. He seems to care very much about his little slice of heaven. We've stayed at a lot of RV parks around the US, there's nothing better than an everyday active owner who genuinely cares how the place is ran. Will definitely be back.

We chose a back-in and since the park was not full while we were staying there, both sites on either side were left empty for our stay which was nice. If the park were full this would feel really cramped. Sites were all on grass, no rugs are allowed other than a small entry rug, it rained while we were there so it seemed like we were bringing a lot of grass and debris into the RV with every trip.

Very friendly way to arrive. This campground is right on the Klamath River although the river is too swift here for swimming. Tent sites are just up the bank from the water. Some RV sites overlook the river. Mine was against some woods. What makes this campground special, in addition to the friendly and helpful staff, is the beautiful flower beds everywhere. There are also nice chairs and benches to sit and watch the river which is really beautiful here. Bathroom was super clean and the shower was luxuriously hot. There’s also a sweet coffee shop and a nice laundry. Wifi was good enough to work remotely all day. The only downside was the sites being right next to each other in a grassy field. But it wasn’t gravel and the sites were wider than many places where I’ve camped, with pretty picnic tables and a fire ring.

Park is stunning and quiet. You'd never know you were less than a mile from the 101 highway. Laundry room and bathrooms were clean and worked well. You are out there (this whole area is) so come with groceries and supplies, then enjoy your time! Very close to lots of hiking in various Redwood parks. Note that the sites are narrow, not sure if they added sites at some point but had we had rigs with pop outs next to us it would have been tight...however we lucked out and didn't have neighbors or when we did, they were short rigs. To compensate the sites are LONG so you have plenty of parking area and room at the back of your site to relax and enjoy the fire pit or eat at the tables that are at each site. Do not let this deter you from staying at KRRV!! The pros way outweigh this downfall. Will definitely return!

What a beautiful setting right along the Klamath River! Site was grass and mostly level although we had to move a bit to hit that level spot. There are few to no shade trees in the park although the high ridge behind the park creates shade fairly early in the afternoon. Our hookup was 30 amp, which was OK since the weather was nice and cool. Cable TV was decent and site was open so satellite worked well. Picnic table available at each site. Sites are fairly narrow but long so we had no trouble parking our tow vehicle. Our motorhome is 35 ft long. Because of the closeness to the river and the geography, the ground was always damp/wet and that was a minor annoyance. Management/staff/camp host were friendly and helpful. The cell phone (Verizon) reception was bad (mostly 1 bar) and the park Wifi useless. What is it with RV parks and Wifi access? Never seen a good one yet! Park had laundry and bathroom facilities, which we did not use. There is no pool but there is a small play area for children. A small restaurant is on site but was closed when we were there, I assume due to Covid concerns. This park is close to the many beautiful state/national parks in the area. We would definitely stay here again!

Campground is right on the Klamath river, a beautiful place to camp. However there is no access to the river because it's a 10' cliff down to the water. Unfortunately this makes it impossible to launch or retrieve a canoe or kayak. The management was great, very nice and helpful. They take you to your site by golf cart. Passport America is good for half price at $24/night. Everything was fine except their internet connection was very also and unreliable. I think they use satellite for internet, and their satellite antennas are getting covered by the trees, hindering the quality of signal. The internet went out about 10 times during my one day stay, not to mention is was very slow when it worked. Since Verizon and ATT cellular signals are non existent at this location, we had to leave. We need the Internet to work, so we couldn't stay another night, even though we wanted to.

The site was about 20-25 feet from the river with a view of the bridge located upstream. When the campground was already nearly full, Gary, the owner, expended some effort to get us into a site that is adjacent to some friends that we were meeting there and delivered a couple of UPS packages to our site during our stay. Great service all around! The grassy sites are green and lush. The internet was reasonably consistent, but weak; good for emails, but not for moving large files or looking at complex websites. Sites are close together, but there is lots of room in front of the sites to spread out around the picnic table that is provided and view the river and other scenery. There is free coffee at the coffee house, and premium mixed coffee drinks are reasonably priced. Each pedestal features double 30-amp plugs, so if you have a double 30-amp to single 50-amp adapter (the owner has one you can borrow), you can pull 50 amps into your rig.Only two downsides. First, detergent and bleach destroys the helpful bacteria in the septic system, so dumping of gray water from your washing machine is allowed. The laundry room is clean and comfortable; $2/wash and $2/dry.Second downside: No AT&T service in the campground or town of Klamath; nearest service is in Crescent City, a 30 minute drive. Verizon users reported having service. The location is a short drive to Crescent City to the north and the Redwood National & State Parks segments to the north and south. We look forward to staying at this campground (one of our favorites) again!

Why you may ask…well, RIVER VIEW, RIVER VIEW, RIVER VIEW!!! Spectacular nature … I truly felt like we had stepped back in time, to a pristine area, unspoiled by humans. The park doesn’t have big amenities like a pool or a hot tub but they do have a very nice little cafe that serves espresso drink and pizza once the season is fully in swing. They also have big communal fire pits, horseshoes, a ping pong table and a great pet friendly walking trail. Want to fish the river…you can do that from there as well or launch a kayak or canoe or float down the river. I will say the river was high and moving very fast when we were there in late April so launching a kayak or canoe would have been an adventure! There is so much to do in this area and Gary, the owner is a wealth of information. Just know there aren’t many restaurant or grocery stores nearby, so stock up the frig before you come....Crescent City is 23 miles away and is worth exploring and going to for lunch one day.The hiking in the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park is awesome...we liked it much better than the Del Norte Area. Fabulous stopover on our 7 week Hwy 101 Road Trip.

We paid 10 bucks extra a night to look at the river from the camper. We loved driving down the road to the shore at night to beach comb and watch the sunset.

The river sites have beautiful views. The sites are very close together if the park is full, but thankfully they space out the RVs if they're not full. So the sites on either side of us were empty giving us a little bit of breathing room. The check-in process was easy and the hosts are very friendly. I didn't expect to have any cell coverage there, but Verizon actually worked with 3G and with a booster we had 1 or 2 bars of 4G. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because of the "kid tax". That is what our community of fulltime RV families call it when a park charges extra for kids. This park charges $4 per day per child. We have 2 kids so we had to pay $8 extra per day. For a family that has more than 2 kids this could get very expensive. It seems unfair to charge extra for our kids that stay in our RV. There are certain parks that we don't mind paying extra for kids if the park has kid-friendly amenities like a bounce pad, playground, mini-golf, etc. However, this park has no amenities for kids so I don't think they should be charging extra for kids.

  • Passport America price, BEAUTIFUL river view, close to the Redwoods, but not good wifi signal

The river view is spectacular and its beauty seems to change based on the time of day. Sites are spacious, well-kept, have fire pits, and the amenities are great. The park is also 9 miles from the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park Visitor Center and 30 miles to Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, two of the best parks for hiking and enjoying the redwood trees! Not the mention, the drive from Klamath to Jedediah Smith was one of the most scenic drives we’ve ever taken because you go from views of the coast one minute to tunnels of towering redwood trees the next. Also nearby the RV park are some awesome beaches. Klamath Beach, Wilson Creek Beach, and Crescent Beach. Klamath Beach is best for sunset and very close to the RV park. You can watch the sea lions fishing near the rocks right off the beach. Another great spot in the area is the Klamath Overlook. From this spot, you’ll be able to see where the Klamath River meets the Pacific Ocean and you may get lucky like us and spot some whales and bald eagles too! Surprisingly enough, this was also one of the best spots to get good cell service in the whole area! We spent an entire day up there working because it was tricky to find good wifi in Klamath.Read more about what to do in our blog post!
