I was a little surprised that this place wasn't yet reviewed...it's big and most likely very crowded during the peak seasons. The sites IMO are very nice...even their dry sites near the water (although those are all right next to each other). Most sites are dry, some have a basic 15 amp 110V plugs. I had one of these sites and the one outlet served my needs. Almost every site has a water spigot. Reservations are via phone only, I don't think they own a computer there. No computer means no online reservations. There are two 18 hole frisbee golf courses on site...if you play this may be heaven for you. There's trout, bass catfish, etc in the lake, but as of 11/21 the water is extremely low and murky...but you can still pull out some good fish. There's a cafe that I think is open Friday through Sunday. There's also big swimming pond and kids play area. 2022 update. I've learned that there really isn't enforcement of any rules at Amador. Day users will be parked in campsites all day long. Dogs are allowed to roam off leash everywhere. The day use people bring dogs, too. The lake water is the color of sewage, to be honest (which is not the fault of the CG). Also...I talked to a guy who said he camps there all the time - and he pays for a day and stays for a few days because they don't come around and check the camp tickets. ALSO - during the off season (when I like to camp) they have some of their disc golf holes and tees - in campsites. Yep, you can have a party of golfers right in your site. I'm all for having fun, but having strange people romp through your site is unbelievable. One other thing...twice I stayed for six days and got the seventh free. In between a different person told me that that special does not apply. Say what? Without published fees, they can switch them on the spot. No bueno.
