No service here and very poor wifi signal, but that really wasn’t a problem for us. We loved the lake in the middle of the park, everyone was very friendly, and people were quiet. Check in experience was just fine, but they have awful hours, 11-3, so we had to wait to start our first day until 11 when we were able to check in. Sites were gravel with very little grass, mostly dirt, between. Trees and shade were abundant.

I'm guessing it's empty because it's the off season and Covid. Nice campground, well kept and clean. We didn't use the bath house so we're not sure if it's open or not. Nice campground, well kept and clean. We didn't use the bath house so we're not sure if it's open or not. Per office answering machine, no reservations necessary. There's a self check in deposit box outside the office, your name, phone number, address the site number you choose and $45 cash. Your good to go. It's right on the highway. If the store is closed there is a gas and store 6 miles south. No Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile signal. Cell service about halfway to the gas station.

They would not give me a refund after I called and cancelled due to being trapped in Northern California because of the Fires. Emailed and called for refund multiple times. No response.

Rhonda, the owner, gave us a refund for the 3rd day ???????????? ... when in the area, we WILL stay here again ... good restaurant on-site, also

I called the day before I arrived to see if I needed to make a reservation (for a Monday) and was told no, but the store would be closed (closed Monday and Tuesdays) and to self-register when I arrived. I pulled in around 1:30 and stopped at the store. The self-registration slips are in a box but…no envelopes that I saw. When I returned with my check ($40 – which they say includes the Good Sam and military discount) I just folded the form around it and dropped it in the box. I did not see a credit card option.Finding a site…I wanted a pull-through since I planned on only spending one night and leaving early the next morning. I did not see any kind of map showing how the park was laid out so I started walking around. Lucky for me a woman was riding a bicycle around and gave me instructions on how to access the pull-through sites – I appreciate that she was so helpful because it wasn’t intuitive. Hook ups seem standard although there is a sprinkler head attached to the water spigot – it didn't come on while I was there. Be wary of overhanging vegetation, the rig that pulled in next to me did some trimming. The dumpsters were full. Some of them, to the point of overflowing. You need a code to use the bathrooms – not sure how you get that. The laundry room was open. $1.50 for each, washer and dryer. There is no Verizon service here. Internet is, theoretically, available and I paid the $2 to have it. It barely worked and when the big rig pulled in next to me (why – when the park is empty???) I lost the signal entirely. I suggest not wasting your money on that option. Glad I previewed my route before I got there. They look to have propane available for sale but again, the store would have to be open.I saw a White-headed woodpecker which made me forget about the negative aspects.

I can't be certain about the price, but I think it was in the 35-40 range. Given the location, amenities, and alternatives, it's reasonable. The place is just off highway 89, but highway noise at night was drowned out by the frogs in the pond. The pond itself is quite lovely: ducks, frogs, reflections of trees. I can imagine some bugs in the early summer, but we were there in April and it was bug free. The place is very woodsy. Some of the back-in sites are not paved, but ours was gravel and fairly level. The bath house was nice. The restaurant closes early (2 p.m.) so we missed any exploration of it or the the store, which I think closes at 4 or 5. All the hookups were well maintained, cable was welcome (this is a fairly remote area), and check-in after hours was easy enough. We will definitely return.

  • A very nice park, and looking forward to going back.

Also, at that time, fishing was not allowed in their pond, but Hat Creek is a short distance away. Great fly fishing.
