If that is your type of weather, then you can't go wrong here. It is a very nice community, with tiny houses and RV's scattered around a neighborhood setting. Great pool and numerous hot springs hot tubs. I saw an exercise room, but we are walkers / hikers so we never used it. We were able to walk 4 miles zigzagging through the neighborhoods, but there is also hiking all around within a short drive. Great laundry facility, and the biggest library I have seen in my (limited) camping time. Lots of organized activities, including water aerobics, poker, volleyball, etc. Keep in mind for our rate, we had the monthly rate with the early bird discount and the "prior years" rate so the current rate is likely more in the 45-50 range. Palm Springs is only about 20 minutes away, an easy drive. And Desert Hot Springs is much quieter and affordable than Palm Springs. We'll be back!

Customarily we shy away from the 55+ parks that are a mixture of RV travelers and permanent manufactured homes; however, after staying here we may have to rethink that. Staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. The facility has a very large pool where they had plenty of space for swimmers, water aerobics and pool volley ball going on at the same time. There were three or four large hot tubs. Pool and hot tubs are hot spring water. There was a large exercise room that was closed due to COVID. There were shuffle boards, golf, tennis and pickle ball. Most of the spaces were dirt with a concrete pad, unless you upgrade to the nicer spaces of which there are only a few. The nicer spaces were closer to the main road that had plenty of road noise. Laundry room was large and clean. Desert Hot Springs is know for being not as safe as other areas in Palm Springs; however, this facility was gated and we felt safe. Sirens could be heard about two-three times a day. Faciliy provided internet was 18 Mbps tested on Ookla.

  • Nice quiet 55+ park with all the amenities

Excellant in every way except some won't like the 12 mile drive to the nearest full service super market. People are friendly, good golf, excellant wifi, nice sites for the most part level. good pools for relaxing in.

We arrived at night in December. The Christmas lights scattered throughout the community were so magical. Our site had a spectacular view of the mountains.I could not get over the golf course, clubhouse and pools. Every night we would take a deep soak and fall into a deep sleep.it was really hard to leave. Can’t wait to go back.

(If staying longer would upgrade to a better, i.e. more expensive site.) No one in office mid-day for check-in but our paperwork was available outside. Most folks here are seasonals and live in park models scattered throughout, with only a few feet, if that, between them. We headed straight for the mineral pools: swimming pool is very large with different depths ranging from 3-5', good for distancing but we didn't see that happen, especially during a rousing waterball game. There are 4 spas/hot tubs, also large in shapes to offer some distancing. These were very warm and offered 'bubbles' and jets that were fairly weak. There are lots of scheduled activities for the pool as well as other interests. They offer an extensive cable TV lineup that we couldn't get to work for us. Dog park(s) are outside of front gate and were padlocked during our stay, and trash dropoff was also outside of front gate. Wi-fi was excellent, best we've ever used anywhere and Verizon had good coverage, too. Mixed feelings about this place. Would probably stay again in a better site. Lots of units for sale...don't know what that means.

Bikes, furniture, grills, propane tanks, even golf carts get stolen on a regular basis—even when they are locked up, chained up, and keys removed. Theft happens at night, during the day, even when guests are simply down at the clubhouse & pools. The management refuses to do anything about it, even going so far as to refuse to consider any mitigation, from a guard at the gate to a simple camera on the front gate (which is rarely locked, and even when it is, it’s easy to simply follow someone in). So come for pools, but keep everything locked *inside* your rig.

The sites are fairly typical - packed desert sand with a concrete pad, FHU-50amp service, although more spacious than many we’ve stayed at. But it’s the amenities that make this place special. The pool system is fantastic and fed by natural hot springs. We made our daily pilgrimage to use the huge swimming pool and several hot tub/jacuzzis.The clubhouse complex hits all the right notes – with a variety of classes and activities offered daily. We participated in yoga classes and just felt a little guilty about skipping the well-equipped gym. There are sports courts (pickleball and tennis) and a large, grassy off-leash dog park. There is a huge pay laundry, free lending library, mailroom, locker room/showers/sauna, a billiards room, chapel, horseshoes and shuffleboard, and a driving range/pro shop. The activities office organizes hikes, potlucks, and other events. Whew! I’m sure I’m missing something. The park is very clean and well maintained. Next to the garbage dumpster is a full range of recycle bins. We called to inquire about reservations and were informed they were running a ½ off manager’s special. Whoohoo! We signed up for a week, which made the daily rate very reasonable.Among the 600+ spaces you’ll find permanent residences – tiny houses and park models, rentals and lots of RV sites. All the sites were kept up and nothing was trashy or sketchy. The gates all close at dusk and you need a code to enter. The park is convenient to shopping, restaurants, Palm Springs and surrounding communities, and Joshua Tree National Park. We would not hesitate to stay here again.Note: Caliente Springs is billed as a 55+ park, although I wasn’t asked my age when I called to make reservations (maybe I sounded old, Lol). Another advantage of Caliente Springs is that you can also access all of the amenities at their even larger, all-ages, sister park Sky Valley Resort just a few miles away.We had 4 bars of Verizon 4G, but the park also has free wifi which worked very well!

Office staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. The clubhouse was very nice with lots of activities. The really big plus here is the mineral springs pools, you could spend all of your time right here. The only cons is the wind. anything north of the I-10 corridor gets lots of wind, and the Wi-Fi was very weak at best. The Verizon Mi-Fi worked very well (if you have unlimited data).Hopefully they will improve the Wi-Fi.We would defiantly return to this park.
