  • Kind of reminds me of a trailer park I met at a dive bar in Michigan this one time...

The more I write reviews from years past, the more I think I have spent most of my time in crappy places. Overnighting long drives and picking random stays, searching for full hookups, a lack of planning. I would not date me. But enough about me, let's talk about Island RV Park for a minute...We had a waterfront site. On the little canal system they've got going. It was quite beautiful actually. Town was a short bike ride away. There's a nice hole in the wall to climb into there, and I do not mean that sarcastically. Can't recall the name of the place but it had the most futuristic jukebox I'd ever seen. And the park's staff was lovely. There's no turn around, I think it's a scheme to sway you over to the full-time residency life here in Clearlake Oaks. It almost worked, but luckily my van comes with a reverse mode. The nearby lake, at sunset, does not disappoint. So I can't recall why I disliked it, and no doubt that it was sandwiched between a stay in the redwoods and Yosemite that really put a sheen to the lackluster memories I now have. Perhaps I will return when I am older, have less ambition, and a boat.
