However, we only booked 2 nights. When we decided (site unseen) that we should stay 3 nights - we called because the online reservation wouldn't let us make changes. They graciously offered to switch our site to 3 - which was closer to the laundry/bath house. We were disappointed but decided to make the best of it. OH HOW WE LOVED SITE 3!! It sat a little higher up than the latter sites.. and it offered (we felt) a most spectacular view over looking the Ozark Mtns! Their bathhouse was AMAZINGINGLY clean and SPA like and we took advantage of it a couple of nights, even though we had full hookups. The sites were spacious enough - where we could pull in and position ourselves enough away from others to take advantage of the privacy and the views. MOST DEFINITELY will make it a routine visit. Plenty of hiking trails that were offered on check-in. We also drove over to the buffalo bison camp and rented a ATV 4 wheel vehicle and rode the trails - and THAT was worth any thrill seeking riders dream!! A MUST DO. Plenty of fishing and kayaking opportunities and even rafting/swimming or whatever water activity you seek.

It was really hot (90’s) and there was no shade at all. However since the park is on a hill we did get a nice breeze constantly. we didn’t use restrooms or showers. Their wifi worked great. I was able to use it for emails, browsing and some light video watching). Internet speed varies from 3 to 20 mpbs so good enough for average internet use. Cell reception for Verizon was good (2-3 bars)

  • Windy, windy, windy but great overlook spot!

I stayed here in November, 2020. Don't put your awning out but pull out a chair and check out the world around you. Can’t beat the views sites are set so everyone has a view sun rise to sun set beautiful. Just park your rig before driving down the steep hills and then pulling it right back up the same hill

QUIET! Fantastic RV Park. Checkin was super easy. All sites are pull thru. On top of the mountain. Slight breeze the entire time we stayed. Plenty of TV Channels on antenna.

The showers are nice, but we did not use them because we had a full hookup site. This place is like a sun island. You will just bake all day long in the summer. This place desperately needs some fast growing trees (silver maple, sycamore, tulip poplar....). The price is the main factor that prevents us from coming back here often. This is double what we pay at other area campgrounds for a water/electric site. We stay here to use the new downhill trail.

There are mountain bike trails and a zip line canopy tour within 2 miles, and Canoe/Kayak rentals close by in Ponca. The park has great views down into the valley as well as great stargazing at night. They have a very clean bathhouse and onsite laundry facilities. Twice daily trash pickup. We had cell signal with AT&T and free park wifi was also consistently fast. All sites are pull thru and have full hookups. We stayed in site number 10. Sites 9 and 10 offer the best unobstructed views in our opinion.

They have a shuttle service if you bring your own kayak/canoe or you can rent from them. Short drive to Branson if you want to spend a day shopping or enjoying Table Rock, Bull Shoals or Taneycomo.

All sites are full hook-ups with level concrete pads and there is also a dump station on-site. Each site has a picnic table and grill. The RV park is conveniently located near some of the best hiking in the area. One of the best hikes in the area is just ½ mile away. The RV Park’s office is not on-site, but the Buffalo Outdoor Center staff was very diligent in periodically checking the RV park and bathrooms/shower area. They also pick-up trash right from your site.In this area, there are little to no cell towers so we were only planning to be in the area on the weekend and then move to an area with coverage during the week to work remotely. We were pleasantly surprised that this RV park is at a high point, so we were able to get decent AT&T cell service (we could not get any Verizon). We were able to get 20-40Mbps DL / 4-5Mbps UL speeds on our mobile router using AT&T! You do have to make sure you are connected to the cell tower to the northeast. The cell tower to the southeast had terrible uplink speeds. The Buffalo Outdoor Center is about 4 miles south of the RV Park in Ponca. They are a great outfitters to rent a canoe/kayak to float the Buffalo river and their website has lots of information about great hikes in the area.
