Was able to book the day of online while having a difficult time reaching anyone by phone at nearby rv parks on the weekend. Set up more like a State Park with lots of trees, nature trail, pool, cabins, etc. close access to I-55, but far enough away so that noise wasn’t an issue. Only negative was that roads into the park need some repair. Just passing through for one night, but would return for longer period of time.

Beautiful campground that is very shaded with large trees. A little challenging for big rigs to get in with many large trees and some rather rough roads. Nice pull thru sites and very quiet surroundings.

  • A Bit Pricey for an Overnight Stop, but Full Hookups Year Round

Sites were a nice size. They slope a bit, but nothing a couple levelers couldn’t fix. Right off the highway, but very quiet. Looked like their pool would be nice in the summer. Good size with a huge deck.

This campground is on KOA lane, so I'm guessing maybe it was a KOA in the past. The sites were close together, like at a KOA. We typically camp at a COE campground or a state park, and while Perryville Campground was not the same nature experience, it was very enjoyable. The staff were very friendly. Check-in was easy. There is a nice store on the grounds. The restrooms were excellent. Stylish, and most importantly - spotlessly clean! At our site, it was easy to get our camper level. We arrived on Friday late afternoon, and there were 3 food trucks in the lot by the service road. An ice cream truck drove through Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening there was a rock/country music band in the pavilion. Most enjoyable is a walking trail connection to the Perry County Community Lake which is a Missouri Department of Conservation area. There is a 4.4 mile trail around the lake which we did walk. Folks were fishing there as well. While we didn't use these features, there was a small fishing lake at the campground. There was a very nice pool, bounce pad and playgrounds for the kiddos. The campground also offers some camping cabins which looked very charming. A Super Walmart is 5 minutes down the road. While we could hear the highway noise, it was not disruptive to us. The town of Perryville is close by, but we did not visit anything there. The campground does offer wifi, but we did find it to be slow; however, it was the weekend, so I kind of expect that.We very much enjoyed our stay here, and we would stay here again.
