We Thought it was far too overpriced for this place (and if you go , don’t waste your money on the KC baby back rib place they give you a menu for when you check in . It was so overpriced and underwhelming as to make me want to complain to the KOA for supporting such a poor business to travelers !)

The only negative was the lack of wifi. My site (#17) was on one of the property borders which might be why I was never able to maintain a connection. Did have decent service on T-Mobile and AT&T.

  • Shouldn’t be called KOA

This even says KOA holiday and it must be the poorest KOA I ever experienced. I could not get my Motorhomes level in the original site 32, despite using blocks under the wheels and everything. Ended up upgrading to their premium aote since it was the only one left. On this one, with the use of blocks I could finally level out the RV. This is subpar. Add to this that the sites are very small, making it even harder to position the RV since you do want to open your slides, it is not a place I ever want to come back to. Oh, and did I mention it actually backs up to to I70? Road noise is ever ongoing.

We stopped here as a 1 night travel stop. Not far from I-70. It actually backs up to it which creates an awful lot of road noise. This is billed as a Holiday KOA and they do have those amenities which appeared to be in OK shape. As for the sites themselves, not thrilled. Our pull thru site was short, a bit un-level with poor outdoor space and a long pull for the sewer hose. Most of the campground is not paved so when it rains, you have a sloppy mess. Sites on the back side are right on I-70 which is a continual roar. Other sites we observed were not much better. We witnessed several large rigs unable to full get into their site. They had to unhitch and go park their tow vehicle some place else. For $60 a night, I expected more. Would I stay again? Maybe, but sure isn’t my first choice.

  • Okay for an overnight stay if you don't mind the price.

Stayed one night, paying around $60 even with our KOA membership (a bit much, in my opinion). The spaces were tight: the power pole for the site to the right of us was pretty much in our site. The spaces were tight: the power pole for the site to the right of us was pretty much in our site. We were also lucky they weren't completely full, as we would have had a lot of trouble leaving with our 37-foot fifth-wheel if we hadn't been able to drive through an empty site 10. The exit road between the sites and the office was one-way and very narrow.Cell service was decent: my Verizon hotspot device with MIMO antenna got between 40-60Mbps down and 10Mbps up (enough for streaming TV), and my AT&T smartphone had 4 bars. The campground backs up to I-70, so there is a fair amount of road noise. They have two large fenced-in dog parks with 5-foot tall fences and no dog agility equipment, which we saw as a plus. Decent little playground for kids (we have none).

  • This is how all KOAs should be!

This KOA should give lessons to all other KOAs as to how to provide a fun, family-friendly environment at a reasonable cost. We were only passing through so we only spent 1 night, but we would definitely return if we're ever in the area again. It was a convenient stop over for the night on our way to St. Louis. Check in was friendly and quick. Our site was easy in and out. They have fantastic amenities like a pool, bounce pad and mini-golf. We were pleasantly surprised that they did not charge extra for mini-golf like most KOAs do. I'm telling you, this place is not greedy like most other KOAs; they do not live up to the "Keep On Adding" reputation that KOA has established. We very much appreciated that they did not charge extra for kids. Thank you Kansas City KOA for doing it better than other KOAs; now I just wish the others would learn from you how to do it right. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile all worked great.
