This place is set up to deal with rigs of all sizes. Most sites seemed very level. We utilized the on-site laundry and picked up dinner one night from the on-site BBQ place (very good sticky wings and mac). We were on a row next to the covered sites. While the shade may have been a good idea in the heat, from our position it seemed like the AC units echoed off the shade structure and may have been loud underneath. The largest dog park was near the entry which was a walk from our site in the heat. The smaller dog parks had a nice grassy spot for our dog to enjoy. We chose this campground based on location to the Saguaro Parks and Mt Lemmon and it worked well for our activities while in Tucson. There is a Target and all sorts of suburbia just a few minutes away if needed.

This has to be the nicest KOA we've ever stayed at. The surrounding area is a little sketchy...there is barbed wire around the entire resort. Also the road noise was pretty loud so bring your earplugs. A little too expensive for us to stay here regularly, but you get what you pay for.

For a "Resort" I expect a less divisive atmosphere. I'm fine with the flags. Just not at something labeled a "Resort."

We made fresh squeezed orange juice in the mornings. The staff were very friendly. The amenities were very nice. We really enjoyed the heated pools and hot tubs. One of the best and cleanest parks we've stayed at. Things to note that are not the fault of the campground is that it is in a bad part of Tucson. The campground is gated and has security guards at night. We always felt safe inside the campground. Also, because you are staying in an industrial area, there is quite a bit of noise from the surrounding area. I would stay here again though.

It's almost impossible to find a blade of grass in the state. The poster was right about the trains, though. Wasn't loud enough to bother me, but it did my wife, some. Two heated pools, two big laundry rooms, fitness center, showers, clubhouse, putt putt golf, rental carts, turtle pond, horseshoes, pickle ball, scheduled events for all. Very active daily schedules for all ages, such as yoga, ice cream socials, pancake breakfasts, tie-dye t-shirts, especially during the busy season (Fall to Spring). On-site BBQ restaurant is very good and will deliver to site, but it has gotten very expensive (over $100 to feed our family of 5). This KOA is constantly improving. I saw a panning for gems area I had not seen before. Last time we were here, they were ripping up an entire section to convert every site to the more expensive firepit patio sites. This time, they were doing the same to a different area, which meant power outages every day for us as well as a water outage. Many types of sites to choose from that vary greatly in price - basic has just a concrete slab with metal table and chairs, upgrade from there to firepit patios, two-story patios, fenced in pet yards, grassy sites, or sites under the solar panels. Has gotten very expensive over the years. We used to stay for a month for under $900. I think it's almost double that now. The extensive gift shop is beautiful but expensive. I made the mistake of buying a tire chalk for $40 there that I later found at Walmart for $25. Good in a pinch, though. Lazydays and Camping World are very close by. Everything else is a drive because this area of town is really bad. The RV Park is fenced with a security gate, but you'll hear sirens every night and have helicopters flying low overhead. We don't mind the aircraft noise from the nearby airport or Air Force Base. Just be warned in case these noises may bother you. All said, we love this park and it is our go-to park when in Tucson.

They have tons of activities going on all the time (like tie dye and pancake breakfasts). People seemed to be enjoying the hot tubs, pickle ball courts and putting greens. We hoped to do laundry but both laundry rooms were always full with people waiting. One had about 12 machines and the other about 8, although both locations had 2-3 washers that were out of order, so we ended up going to a laundromat instead. The bathrooms/showers felt a little dingy and also had multiple stalls marked out of order. We had no issues with cell service. They did give us a code for WiFi but we never tried it.Overall this served its purpose for us and we could see people who are more into the resort style and amenities loving it.

Large sites with crushed stone landing pad, concrete patio with decorative metal table and chairs, and a paved parking area for the toad. Sites under shade structures are available. Our site was a pull-through and we had plenty of room for our car. Roads are paved, wide, and were easy to navigate in our 40ft motorhome. Utilities worked with no issues. WiFi and T-mobile were good. We had good barbecue from the on-site restaurant. There are a couple of fenced dog runs and several other leash-walk areas. If you want to use the fenced runs, I suggest you request a site near them since this park is so big it can be a long walk. They do offer some sites which include your own private fenced dog run. I recommend this park. We would stay here again if in the area.

This is a large park with lots of different kind of sites. Even the basic sites have a cement patio and fruit trees with lots of space in between spots. Most of the office staff seem very disorganized at times and have people moving several times during their stay, long term and short term. The staff changes every couple months though cause most are a part of the KOA work program and so they are temporary workers. We also had electrical issues during our stay with low voltage (less than 110) My best advice- do NOT take your surge protector off at any time during your stay. It’s nice gated park, but it’s in a bad part of town. Many nights we heard cops and sirens on the other side of the wall, too, so if you have the option, try to be in the middle part of the park and not against the back wall. Overall, we would stay here again. It has a lot of amenities and seems to be the best option for the area

We somehow got lucky enough to snag site #1513, which I'd say is probably the best in the park. It had a huge patio and fireplace with plenty of room for activities. That said, I'd happily stay in most of the other sites as well. The park itself was very clean and well maintained. Sometimes when putting my trash out for on-site pickup, it would be gone before I could get back in the door of our RV! They also offer recycling which was nice. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Deliveries of firewood to the site were quick. The on-site BBQ restaurant was pretty decent. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, but the convenience of the location made it a winner for a lazy dinner. The smoked meatloaf was pretty tasty. If I had to ding anything, I'd say the water pressure was mediocre at best and seemed to fluctuate during the busy periods. I'm sure it's not the KOA's fault, but it's something to be aware of. It was a minor inconvenience.

We were also in a quiet section without partyers and little kids. Entire park looked clean with staff working hard. Easy access to services and the Tucson Bike Loop. However, the two pools tended to be too chilly for us and were packed with resident children who do not 'social distance.' Hot tubs were small and packed with people who got in and stayed in, or climbed in exceeding recommendations without consideration or social distancing. We were auditioning this campground for the possibility of an extended stay next year which we might consider if the world returns to more normal. For now, there were too many unsupervised resident kids for us. AT&T & Verizon decent, cable TV was good.

We stayed for a couple of nights in December 2020, when COVID rates were skyrocketing everywhere & especially Arizona. We had just come from a KOA in New Mexico which had 100% mask compliance throughout the campground. Here, despite the high infection rates there was zero mask compliance amongst campers anywhere in the campground. The staff wore masks and we watched them diligently clean campsite furniture after campers checked out. But, nothing was done to encourage compliance from campers. In NM there were signs everywhere. Here, they were actively encouraging campers to gather at group (super spreader) activities. Seriously? Over 300,000 dead and they go on to host a full slate of weekly activities and pancake breakfast like nothing is happening? The pool area was full of unmasked people. No one wore a mask in the restroom or laundry. Lots of screaming children ran maskless through our site the entire time. Groups of entitled snowbirds tottered around everywhere in blissful, maskless denial. Four adult males on one site openly heckled and taunted my wife for wearing a mask while she walked our dog. They were so vile she became too scared to go out of our RV. It was callous, we were very disappointed.

By far, this has been our favorite RV park. It’s site types, sizes and cleanliness are second to none. 5hey are also arranged to be very private. It will forever be the RV park by which all others will be measured and which other parks should aspire to in terms of the layout and site selections. We chose this park because it has sites with private, grassy dog runs. Were traveling with two medium-sized fur babies so this was a great option. That said, ours was back in the corner. It’s a huge site but the fenced dog area was too far away from our site. Most of the others are right next to RV. They have too many site options to list but some have fireplaces or pits, private areas and swings, as well as a solar-panel covered section. This would be great if you’re there in the heat of the summer. The park also has some other nice amenities and a great bbq restaurant which will deliver to your door. There’s lots to do for families, but this is one of the negatives for us — too many kids. They should create an adult-only section with its own pool. The pool closest to us was right next to play yard and filled with kids the whole time. Therefore, we would never use it. The showers were also right next to pool, which I didn’t care for. But the main reason, I can’t give this park a 5 is because of noise and mediocre showers. The showers are nothing to write home about and they weren’t sparkling clean, which is important to us - and extra important during COVID. Our site being in the corner was next to a mobile home park, which was noisy and there’s quite a bit of freeway and airport traffic.I also had 5G on my phone. Compendium needs to add that as an option:)But overall, we enjoyed the park and our time there...and so did the dogs;)

Lots of camping options from tenting sites to cabins to enormous pull throughs with overhead shading from the sun. They have a great on premise bbq restaurant that will deliver to your campsite. We had a nice level gravel site with a fruit bearing orange tree. The campground is a block from miles and miles of fabulous biking and hiking trails. They are also adjacent to several RV service centers. They have numerous other amenities but we avoided them due to the virus. Internet was included but not always available. Some noise from nearby highways and airports. Seeing the fighter jets is cool but they can be loud. We would stay here again next time we are passing through. Very pleased.

We decided to find a campground with amenities and laundry. We couldn't have been happier with our site at Tucson Lazy Days/KOA. This campground is so pristine and has a wide range of site options from covered, private fenced in dog sites, two level deck sites, hammocks, or private patios with fireplaces. We originally booked a hammock site at $57 per night, but quickly upgraded on arrival after seeing the private fireplaces (Site 1325, avg $75 per night). They will even deliver firewood to your site, and so does the BBQ restaurant on site. This place also had the largest campground dog park we have seen yet. Other amenities include pickleball courts, two pools, hot tub, dog wash, large community fire bowls that were lit each night, laundry, free wifi, playground, and scheduled activities.

The staff was beyond wonderful with dealing with the uncertainty and CDC recommendations. There are lots of different sites. Some are basic. Some have fireplaces. Some have little fenced areas for your pets. Some have patios or hammocks. We picked a pull thru under the solar panels and really appreciated the extra shade as it was getting hot already. Also tons of citrus trees that are bursting with free fruit. When we first arrived the amenities were open but very quickly closed for to CDC recommendations but they have 2 pols. 2 hot tubs. Good laundry and goof areas to walk the dogs. Our very favorite thing about staying here is if you like to bike. You are right on the Loop a long paved bike/green way trail that curcles around Tucson. We rode a lot.Large, clean KOA wit great staff.

There are “covered” sites but it is solar panels so it is not complete coverage. There is a stretch of grass and a citrus tree between sites. The sites are close together but not right on top of each other. Our site was surprisingly very unlevel – mostly side to side but also different in the front and back. We were afraid of torquing the frame so we settled with mostly level. The gravel just needs to be graded which should be done after each RV leaves. Our site was long enough for the car and motorhome but there was also a paved spot next to the motorhome for the car. You are allowed to pick fruit which was in season when we were there so we helped ourselves to grapefruits, oranges and lemons. The WII FI, which was tengointernet, worked good for once. Directv satellite worked fine in our site but they also have cable. You will hear trains, planes and automobiles. The park is not in the best part of town but they have a gate and concertina wire. We were only there for one night so didn’t use any of the amenities.

There were multiple pools and hot tubs, putting greens, community fire pits, tennis/handball courts, horseshoe pits, a large dog park, community outdoor kitchens, and much more. There are normal RV sites as well as those that offer large outdoor fireplaces and seating areas. Some sites even have individual fenced in areas of grass for your dogs. There's a BBQ restaurant on site that we were impressed with, and we appreciated things like them picking up trash at curbside multiple times each day. We also took full advantage of the many fruit trees throughout the park. Guests are encouraged to take whatever they want, so we gorged ourselves on fresh oranges, grapefruit, and lemons all week. The park is well located if you're looking to take advantage of the various attractions in south Tucson. The Desert Museum, the Titan Missile Museum, and San Xavier del Bac Mission are all within about 30 minutes. While south Tucson is not particularly scenic, there is a lot to see and do close by. Sites are lined up right next to one another, but there is a reasonable amount of space between RVs and sites are at an angle to the road, so you're not looking right into your neighbors' windows. We had a nice little sitting area, but the views in all directions was of campers. Overall, unlike so many RV "resorts" that don't offer many services or amenities, this place stood out to us because they really do try to make it nice. The flip side is: $60 per night for a campground is pretty excessive. We stayed here because it was conveniently located near the airport and we had family visiting, but generally, we would have a hard time justifying the cost.

Mini store on site. You can get your own mail at just about any time of day. If you need service on your rig, there are lots of providers in the area and the KOA is happy to let them in to fix you up.I second what the other reviewer said about the dog run- if it rains (or whatever their doing with drainage), it's often super muddy in there. It's a large park and sites are close to each other, but well maintained and daily trash/recycling pickup is super nice! We stayed in Dec/Jan and the weather was great. I probably wouldn't stay here in the summer as no shade (unless you're under the solar panels). Pools are well kept and there are cabins and tent areas if your friends/family wanna come visit.I give it 3 stars for noise as you can hear the trains, planes and automobiles most any time of day. But overall the guests are quiet at night. Oh.. and they provide WiFi and it works great.

So when you take you dog there, it is at a minimum muddy and at worst is flooded in several areas and occasionally completely flooded. Now there is a pond near the dog park... why don’t they divert the pool water there or block the drainage into the dog area so the water has to continue down into the street all the way. Come on. This RV Park is so well thought out but this! It really really stinks and makes it hard in many ways for dog owners. It really ruins an RV’ers day to have a wet and muddy dog to take home into such a tiny space. They do have dog washes but I don’t want to wash my dog twice a day after I’ve taken him to the park. It’s ridiculous and easy to fix. Block the drainage area.

We did some research, and since it was a short trip and we had dogs, we decided we needed full hookups for the air conditioning since we would be leaving the dogs. This park had good reviews, was near the funeral and several people that stayed there recommended it. It was exactly as advertised: spotlessly clean, nice amenities, friendly staff.I didn't see the public bathrooms, so no comments on that. We paid extra to stay under the solar shade, which is quite high in the air, but very cool and provides great shade in the summer. Interesting trivia--it's more expensive in the summer, but if you stay under the solar in the winter it's discounted. The park had tengo WiFi which was actually pretty good for RV park wi-fi. Access is a little odd, through a couple of RV stores--there are two entrances actually to the park. Sites are paved, level and nice. Certainly not the closest sites I've seen in a commercial park. It's right next to the interstate, so it's an excellent stopover if you're just traveling through. I'm sure in the winter reservations are needed, but in the summer it's a ghost town.

We were here for the Tuscon Rock and Gem Show in early February and it worked out perfectly. This is city camping and most campgrounds in urban areas will really pack you in. We stayed in a basic pull-through site and found the sites here to be very spacious with plenty of parking at the site for guests. We had a lemon tree full of fruit for the taking and a nice concrete pad with a patio table and chairs. They have everything you need here including a restaurant and cantina, which was average. Pools, dog areas, dog wash facilities, laundry, store, mail room, etc, etc. I had to ship a package and was able to create the mail label online as USPS and print it out and mail it at the registration office. Easy peasy. Check in was easy and they were booked solid and turning folks away without reservations, so call ahead. The campground is a bit noisy with the freeway not to far away and the airport nearby, but it really wasn't that bad and the way I see it is it's just part of being right in town.We will stay here again next year During the Rock and Gem Show and suggest to our friends to do the same.

One thing that might bother people is there are ton of fighter jets taking off from DM Air Base, (i like) and next to a train, so if you're looking for a silent peaceful park you should try something else, but if you need a full featured KOA that's a bit noisy than this is your spot

  • Better than your typical KOA

This is a HUGE parking lot campground, not an oasis in the desert but rather an urban parking lot conveniently located next to multiple RV dealers. That being said, our one night there was fantastic. We didn't get to use the dog run but our site was extremely nice, worth paying a little extra for the spit of grass and the privacy it afforded. We had dinner and drinks in the on-site restaurant/longue. Not an extensive menu but it was VERY welcomed after a stressful week and a quick turn-around between trips. We would overnight here again if we had too without question. The huge solar array they've built is worth viewing for one night.

The dog park is HUGE and we used it every day. Lemon and grapefruit trees along each lot offer fresh fruit for campers. If you're looking for someplace clean, with lots of activities, a restaurant, and a high-end clientele (we spotted three Prevosts there) this might be the spot for you. The bad stuff: we found it a bit too "sterile" for our tastes. Apart from the dog park and a few premium sites, there's not a blade of grass to be seen: the park is entirely asphalt and gravel. There was also a lot of noise: every day loud fighter jets from the Air Force base next door were flying overhead. There were train whistles pretty often, one RVer liked to drive his gas-powered go-cart around the park, and our neighbors on both sides were working on their coaches during most of our stay, including one working on his ailing generator making noise and blowing gas fumes our way. It's the first RV park we've stayed in that had barbed wire all the way around--although we felt completely safe in the whole area even outside the park. We would consider returning again for a short stay. We stayed in January 2015.

This is a very quiet and clean KOA. The laundry facility, pool, playground and dog park are all awesome. My kids loved picking lemons from the trees between campsites. There's not much here in the way of nature or "real" camping, but we were visiting family for a week and it was an easy place to stay.

We find we enjoy the central location for hiking in the various locations in all directions and the convenience of having stores near by. We also enjoy the extra large sites that give us a lot of room for ourselves and ample space between us and our neighbors. The roads in the park are very wide with lots of room for easy backing in. The sites are gravel parking, cement patio with extended blacktop, and an extra gravel area. Each site has a table and four chairs and most sites have a citrus tree. There are two pools, a small playground, large grass dog park, pickleball courts inside, and restaurant. There are some planned activities but this is not your typical KOA meant for families. There are four different sites. We stayed part of out time in a deluxe site. These are the same size as all the sites but have a small lawn and a hedge for privacy. However, these sites are on the north side of the park and they have more train and highway noise. They also face the new solar roofs. Our other site was on the southwest side and was a double back in. This was a much quieter area. Be aware that if you should park under the new solar roof, there is a continuous hum from the solar mechanisms on the ends.

Its a nice, clean, beautiful smelling (due to the fruit trees) campground. I am kind of a more rustic camper and don't really use all of the other amenities. But I did like the sites in the #1538 area since they seemed quieter than the area around site #1625. I came here one year for a rally and then came for a few weeks the second year (2015) to visit some friends. The BIG PLUS for me, they have the biggest fenced-in dog park area that I have ever seen in a campground. It basically is a water retention area and since normally it is dry in Tucson, the park is dry with some grass. When it rains, you wouldn't take your dog there but I am assuming that it is fairly infrequent.

It's a good place to have your mail forwarded to -- the staff are very accommodating and helpful. If you want a break from cooking, there's a large restaurant on site, and within a mile there's a Fry's grocery. Everything else in Tucson is very accessible from this location. As a runner, I like that there are plenty of sidewalks and neighborhoods around the park for running, although they're not always the most scenic, and you can also run 1-mile laps around this giant place if you don't feel like venturing out. We hear that there's a new bike trail here that leads out to Tucson's fantastic system of trails.

The RV Park is part of the Lazydays RV Sales and Service center, so it is a giant facility. It's a first class facility, though it can be a little noisy at night with the helicopters and sirens blaring. There are citrus trees between most spots, so we enjoyed the grapefruit while we were there. The restaurant looked surprisingly good, the staff was very friendly and the laundry rooms are both big and clean. It's not our type of campground, we prefer more nature. But if you're in Tucson and want to be near the gem show or get your RV serviced it's a great location.**We paid a discounted rally rate while we were here.
