It was close to Saguaro National Park West, but an hour away from eveything else we wanted to do. The sites are close together back to back, but a reasonable distance side to side. The strangest thing about this park is the lack of modern technology to book it. I got no confirmation email after I called in September to book it. In December I got a call checking to make sure that I was still coming and then I heard nothing until I called them 2 days before we arrived in late February. Luckily we still had the spot. They only take cash or checks and I had to go three times to the office before someone was there to take our payment. (5pm, 10am and 1pm on two different days!). I guess some might like the laid back atmosphere of it, but I found that a bit stressful. My AT&T reception only had 1 bar, but my husband's Verizon had 3 bars.

  • Perfect for what we wanted!

Has a laundry but hasn’t been cleaned for awhile, dirty with overflowing garbage cans. No bathrooms or showers. Lots of things could be updated to make a nice park. The park is quiet except for the neighborhood dogs that bark constantly. On the plus side: the streets and landscaping are nice and easy access to the desert. The sites are roomy. My opinion. Don’t advertise and charge for amenities you don’t have.

Then when we got there no one was in the office so I called for wifi password, but no answer again. The only reason we hadn't booked somewhere else was because it was Labor Day Weekend and all other parks in the area were booked. There are a lot of full timers, but the park is clean and well kept. The sites are very spacious! We would stay here again if in the area. We were close to the road and did not hear any road noise, it's about 10 miles out of town, so not a lot of traffic.

The laundry was clean with a lot of machines. The hostess was kind to lend us a 50-30A adapter for a small deposit. There are a few snowbirds staying here for long time .. I would recommend this place to friends. The concrete in road next to RV park caused unnecessary concern from bumpy sounds that it made.. otherwise no concerns.

We were here in late June for just 1 night, but the main business of the park is during snowbird season. In fact we are considering spending some time here next winter. We paid the $25 Passport America rate which is good for up to 3 nights. The manager quoted us $709/month for a deluxe site during snowbird season, but January is always sold out. That's a good rate for snowbird parks here. The deluxe back-in sites are nice and spacious with screening desert vegetation.

WIFI good; for work used a booster as well - download speeds fast above 5 most time 7. Premium Lots in the upper portion of the park are relatively void of the San Joaquin Rd noise. I am in a pull thru - due to late arrival/booking. Pull thrus at the entrance to the park on the San Joaquin Road side. Pull through has road and other noises during the day. Noise settles in the evening but starts again in the early AM. The site is gravel, large rocks. The spots are large in comparison to Desert RV next door. No complaints, I have full sun for solar. Dry camp lots are right next to the main road. People are very friendly here. Laundry: $2 per load wash or dry; 24/7 laundry time available. The park is well kept. Trails in the back of the park. Clubhouse has library and activities for people.

We ended up here because of availability. We were in one of the pull through sites close to the entrance. The traffic noise at night was really loud. I had to wear ear plugs to sleep. Unless you get a site at the back of the park it’s really not a great place to stay IMO. A couple of long term residents with a little junk around their trailers. Lots of snowbirds (which we are also but we move around more ) They do have a nice trail area behind the park they leads to the stare park so that was a plus. We are mostly the people who want to boondock so take that into consideration when reading this review.

Nice being able to walk right out the back of the park to Tucson Mountain Park, trails were a big plus. We were in a pull through spot towards the front and heard road noise during the day, quieted down at night. Bonus was we got to see some beautiful sunsets out our front window! Friendly neighbors, lots of transient travel in the section we were in. Most of the spaces are pretty close together. Verizon cell and mifi worked great, 2 bars unboosted, 5 boosted. We liked the remote location, that's not for everyone. Nearest Walmart/Walgreens/grocery is 15-20 minutes away, but we saw people riding horseback several times right in front of our site, which we enjoyed very much.Note - this is NOT a 55+ park.Get out and enjoy Saguaro National Park east and west!

We used the laundry facilities and they were fine. There was a decent amount of road noise up front.

The rate was reasonable for a weekly stay and it was a good home base to explore Tucson (30 minuets to Downtown) and Saguaro NP (15-20 minuets). There were great hiking trails that led to Tucson Mountain Park connected to the RV park too. Laundry was sufficient, but nothing to write home about. No bathrooms or showers so if that’s something you’d need this isn’t the spot for you. Best part- fast Verizon around 20mbps download, 12mbps upload. ATT worked great too, but I don’t remember the speeds. We also have a cell booster, but even before we set it up we didn’t have trouble. Also, we saw that others reviewed this as a 55+ park, but we’re in our 30s and stayed with no questions asked. There was also a family with three kids a few sites down from us for a couple days. Most campers were 55+, but it didn’t seem like a strict rule.

This park is close to the west saguaro national park. Although the park is nice, it would have been much better with a pool and maybe a nicer clubhouse. Didn’t seem like they had bathrooms or showers? Anyways, it fit our needs for the few nights we were there.

Sites are clean and no frills (they do offer upgraded sites but we chose not to spend the money), facilities are clean (nice laundry room and ok rec center), owners are friendly, and the sky is beautiful. Cons: They do not have a community restroom or shower facility, Dog park is small (like an afterthought), they have other recreation areas (bocce, lawn bowling) but it is not used very often (by the looks of it), the desert cactus are abundant in the park (care must be taken if you walk your pet), and there are a few barking dogs at night (easily heard if your site is at the front of the park).Cell signal: Good ATT coverage, WIFI was "open" and not password protected (even though they gave you a password to use).

This park has easy access to mountain biking and walking with the dogs - literally walk/ride out the back of the park and you'll come to the Tucson Mountain park. I listed it as no frills since there's no cable TV, no bath house, no picnic tables and no pool. But those things didn't matter for us. They did have laundry at $1.75 a wash and $1.50 a dry and the machines worked well. There is WiFi but since it's fed by DSL service - keep your expectations of speed to a minimum. This is an adult park - not a 55+ as indicated on the listing. That made for quiet park neighbors. The premium spots are large and even the non premium spots are spacious.Picking the right spot in this park is key. Stay too close to the front and you get road noise or on the West side of the map (MV17-MV20) and you'll hear large dogs barking at night. On the east side of this park (DV1-DV9) you'll neighbor other RVers from the park next door. Don't stay in spots GV5 or GV6 as they are very close to a septic/sewer system and there are times where the breeze calms down and you get a good whiff. If you don't mind paying cash or check, this is a pretty great spot to stay. Rates are reasonable and despite that feeling that we weren't confident that we had a reservation - the wife of the operation takes good care of you.

Justin’s Diamond J RV Park fit the bill, but the real draw was the extensive network of hiking/mountain biking trails that we could access right from the campground. The RV park has several sections, the best spots are in the back – especially the “desert view” sites that back to up open land. Sites are gravel, roads are paved. In the back, there is vegetation between sites and the spaces are very large – 2000 sq. feet. The sites in the front are closer to the road (more noise), have little/no vegetation and are closer together. Most sites are back-in, although there is a row of pull-through sites in the front. The park is immaculate and the owners/staff are very friendly and helpful. This park is designed for self-contained rigs. There are no public restrooms/showers. All sites are full hook-up, so no separate dump station. Rental units are available.Amenities include mini-golf, club house with library and BBQ patio, pickleball court, bocce ball, horseshoes, and laundry facility. There is a dog run, but the park brochure mentions breed restrictions. And, of course, the miles of trails! There are several well-marked loops or you can connect with trails in the adjacent Gilbert-Ray municipal park. Note: Only cash or checks are accepted – no credit cards. Discounts include GS and PA as well as weekly, monthly, annual rates. We were given a preferred site with a daily rate of $34 which was discounted to $20 for two nights with our PA. We had 3 bars of Verizon 4G unboosted. Park’s Wifi is open and worked ok most of the time.
