We loved this place! Ended up here for one night when we could not get a site at Madera Canyon. It's a bit alternative. Don't come here if you're expecting a traditional paved RV park with an activity center. But if you like nature, especially birds and a laid back atmosphere -this place is for you.

  • Great place in Tubac.

We found this little gem and stayed for 3 nights. We dry camped. You can ride you bikes in to Tubac. We happened to be here during the Annual Arts festival. The owner is very accommodating we called the same day we arrived.

Depending on where you stay within the “park”, your experience may be enhanced. We were tucked in near in a tight spot near a pole barn that housed vintage stuff. We appreciated that they were able to accommodate our impulse stay and the staff was very friendly. Not a particularly scenic experience, but a rustic, quiet, treed, safe and friendly experience.

  • No frills, Great "once was a hippie farm gone to seed" atmosphere.

The office is in a geodesic dome from the 60's but you will check in at a picnic table out in front. Hummingbirds buzz around a half dozen feeders. Deer may wander by. Coyotes are nearby. Did not try the showers or restrooms. The laundry has an honor box and regular washers. There is still some farming going on and a open barn covers the equipment and repair shop. Nice folks run it. The area is dirt as are the sites which are slightly raised. The dirt is sandy so it does not get muddy and drains well. There is a third of a mile walking path. Tubac is an artists colony full of stores and things to see. There is a small national and a state park in town. Places to eat and shop. Access is by a road that turns to dirt at the end but it is in good condition. There is a rail crossing but you have plenty of room to negotiate it. Call when you get off of the highway so someone can be near the office when you get there. ATT good, T-Mobil data wretched but that's normal.

Jessie camp host told us to make sure we followed the directions and not our GPS. Made it with the good directions. Kind of crowded but we ended up with a spot without someone right next to us. Quiet evening. She gave us wifi but told us it probably wouldn’t work where we were at. No problem as we had a couple of ATT bars. One of the few places where we have been able to pick up clear RV stations. Woke up to a quiet morning. Walked around to try and find the laundry but was unsuccessful. We took off down the road. Nice place to stay.

These are the reasons I would not stay here again though. The grounds are entirely loose dirt, making this place, on windy days, or with any precipitation, a terrible place to be. WiFi seems nonexistent. The rate for dry camping is the same as for full hookups - $30. Since there were no fhu spaces available I had no choice but to pay the 30. for the dry camping space. The host’s reason for pricing the spaces the same is that “our insurance costs are the same.” There’s certainly much better value for the money elsewhere.

We really enjoyed our 3 nights here. It’s very quiet and peaceful. Jif is a wonderful and helpful host. The walk into Tubac is easy and scenic. We will be back.

She escorted us to our site and gave us the camp and wifi information. They let us use chairs from their patio for our large group of campers and we had a very pleasant stay. It is only 1 mile from the village of Tubac, which is very convenient. Our only complaint is that site 3 is actually in the road. She said it was just an emergency road but it is right on the main circular road of the park where everyone drives by. We had to put safety cones out to keep vehicles away from the trailer and our steps to give us as wide a berth as possible as they drove by. The recommended outdoor "yard space" that is usually outside your front door was in front of the neighbor's winter RV set up, which we didn't use because that's just weird. Any other site at this park is better so this is just fair warning for this one site. Our friends had two other sites that were really nice.

Such a fun eclectic place. Owner, Jiff and Danny were great as was host Skye.Met several awesome campers.Walking to Tubac or bike riding is a no brainer.Allergies were a problem for us with the grasses in full bloom. They are improving the sites, little by little. Next year prices will be $30 a night.Enjoyed our time ????

Friendly owner. Name has changed to Sunflower RV park. Definitely use directions to camp on her web site. Some areas very sandy so if it rains and your in a big rig be careful where you park. Great price for laundry one machine.

As you drive up it looks like something out of the 1960's. When I called for reservation the owner just asked for our name no credit card to hold the reservation. Our sewer hookup could be found in the tire laying on the ground. The electrical hookup was in a building which was full of "stuff" including a light weight airplane. We would recommend you have a surge protector. We noticed our voltage varied but not enough to cause issues. The owners were great and friendly. Fellow RVer's there were from all over the country and delightful to talk with. Yes it's not your normal RV park but well worth the experience.

No, but perfect for us. This is the first time we have ever stayed in an RV Park for more than a few nights but for those who want fancy - this is not it. No pool or hot tub, no cement pads, no rec room, but there is a wonderful 2/3 mile or so walking path. There is a variety of wildlife, especially birds. Easy walk to the town center or the Anza trail, shopping in Rio Rico or Nogales is closer and less crowded than going North.Everyone who we met here was friendly, many had dogs and they all got along. And every kind of RV there is from fancy to less so. Jiff and Danny are great hosts and we will recommend this place to anyone.

There are about a half dozen water/electric sites ($26/night) near the main building (a geodesic dome!) and a large mowed field for dry camping ($20/night.) Water and dump are available on premises as is a washer dryer ($1/load.) The owner is also a highly skilled massage therapist so you can even get a massage on premises. This is a good place from which to visit the artsy/tourist town of Tubac. The downtown is about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the “campground.” As you drive in to the campground for the first time, definitely follow the directions on the campground’s web site as your GPS will send you down some residential streets that have not been completed! There is a small market in Tubac where you can pick up essentials as well as having a good assortment of beer/wine and gourmet snacks. It’s not a Safeway so get your basics before arriving. The CG does offer wifi and Verizon was very fast. The only ding is the railroad track adjacent to the property. There are three or four trains per day/night that pass through and because of the nearby RR crossing they blow their horn for a long time. During the day it’s really no big deal as it’s over in less than five or ten minutes, but on one night there were four separate trains that passed by waking us up quite rudely each time. We were there three nights and only had one bad night. On the other two nights, there were no trains after about 9PM. This is a freight line between the US and Mexico so there isn’t a time schedule as there would be with oassenger trains. Despite this, we would stay here again when visiting Tubac as the only alternative RV Parks in the area are within a stone’s throw of the Interstate which pretty much guarantees noise 24 hours per day.Other than the occasional train, this place is very quiet and has lots of birds due to it’s proximity to the river which is about 100 yards away.

We were able to walk to Tubac, which was nice since we were there during the art festival. The ground was flat and we had no trouble getting our big rig in and situated. Pet friendly, but I had a hard time keeping the sharp bushes and dry grass out of my fluffy dog. There were not many people staying when we were there, but everyone was friendly with each other and that made it fun.
