We love the Canyon Lake area, so we naturally enjoyed our stay at this park. The RV sites back right up to the lake, with each site having a fire pit and table setup. We used a water/electric hookup and had no issues with either. The RV sites were a bit close together, which I understand they are trying to make the most of their waterfront property but would have been nice to have a bit more space. Was a pretty big area, I'd say they can easily fit 50+ RVs here, if not more. Seemed like mostly travel trailers, but we did see a few Class A's as well for folks with bigger rigs. They stock the lake fairly frequently for any anglers out there. Their is a little bar/restaurant area. You can take a steamboat Ride, which we took a pass on, but folks were lined up for them so seemed potentially worth doing. All & all we paid just under $100 for two nights, with our Good Sam discount. Bathrooms were clean, everything seemed to work fine. Felt jammed in to our space, and surround by other campers, but you are right next to the lake, which was pretty awesome.

Back into your space and if you have rear windows the view is great. A couple of spaces are parallel to the lake for side viewing. All spaces have a barbecue, fire ring, picnic table, 30 amp, 15 amp and water hookups. A row of trees runs the length of the gravel spaces for good shade and there are a number of trees in the green area as well. The spaces are just wide enough for slide outs and awnings but the (mostly) green space between you and the lake is very deep. Plenty of room for games and for the kids to run around. There is a nice marina with boat and kayak rentals. Small store and a restaurant that has limited hours.Negatives, for us, the price is very high unless your into boating as you can park your boat behind your camp site on the shoreline (75 - 90 feet away). The spaces are narrower than we like and though the gravel is pretty level it's not paved. Our electric pillar needed some work. The 30 amp plug was loose and the 15 amp plug was broken. The bottom of our barbecue was rusted through in several places.Lots of flies to the point that we spent more time than normal inside our RV. Also be aware that there are a couple of skunks that scavenge after dark. A couple of dogs down the way from us that were not on leashes got sprayed one night.Though it's not the RV parks fault the road to the Canyon Lake, Apache Trail, has needed to be resurfaced for several years. It is a very bumpy ride when you get into the mountains.Because of the location and proximity to where we live we will be back to this campground.
