The bathrooms were clean and shower was hot (although more of a fine mist - little pressure). The problem is that there are GOATHEAD THORNS thtoughout the campground (loop 3)! DO NOT STAY HERE, or you will be cleaning THORNS out of your shoes, carpet. feel, pets, camper for the rest of your trip.

It was either $20 or $30 per vehicle for up to one week, but we have a pass, so I didn't really pay attention. As far as I can tell, this was not included in the campground rate, but I'm not sure, I forgot to ask. We were placed in the C loop and told them we have a 45' toy hauler. I didn't check out the other loops, so I can't speak for them. In the C loop, there are "pull-thru" sites along the outer perimeter and back-ins on the interior of the loop. The "pull-thrus" are the U shaped lay-bys, not straight-through pull-thrus. I say this because this can create obstacles for larger rigs like ours. For example, site C18 would NOT have been accessible for us because there is a very tall pole on the right side of the entrance and the site sign on the left side of the entrance, and there's no way we could've maneuvered our big-ass setup through those two obstacles without causing damage. Also, had there been anyone in C18 when we got there, we would've had issues, because due to trees, we had to drive across part of site C18 to enter C20 as straight as possible to avoid hitting trees. The other pull-thrus didn't have trees like C20 did and there was a moment when we thought we may have to request another site, but we managed to place the RV just perfectly where our slide didn't hit the tree on the side, but we had to trim a few branches on the tree in front in order to unhitch without scratching up the roof of our truck. When we left, we had to back up a bit to be able to clear the trees and make the curve necessary to get out, and we ended up hitting the tree in the back. So, yes, a big rig will fit, but it can be very stressful. Our hotspots worked well. The view of the lake was beautiful. Close to Page. We rented a pontoon boat at the marina (Stateline does rentals, not Wahweap), and the time zone is Arizona. The phones kept bouncing between Arizona and Utah, but the marina is on Arizona time even though it's technically in Utah. We would recommend hiring a boat tour instead of renting a boat because it took an hour to do all the paperwork/inspections, then with all the no-wake-zones, we were only able to explore Navajo Canyon before returning after 4 hours on the water, you have to fuel up the boat and half a tank cost us $117 (and the guy at the fuel station said prices were going up), we were clock-watching the entire time because the marina closes at 4pm sharp and if you're one minute late, they'll charge you for an additional day (another $500 or so plus a $50 fee). We got back early and our rental ended up costing around $800 after rental fee, taxes, $50 insurance, and $117 gas. Pretty sure a stress-free boat tour for all 5 of us would've been less than that.

We were in A loop and had a nice view of the lake. I walked around the campground and all of the RV sites had a view of the lake. As with most campgrounds, a lot depends on your site. There are some pull-through sites here that are awful. You are only two feet away from your neighbor. I think you could pass the salt through your slide windows. If I had one of those sites, I would not have been happy. You can not choose your site when making a reservation, so you get what you get. The bathrooms were clean, although only one of the three sinks was working. We had a dead animal laying in our site when we pulled in and the picnic table was filthy, so I don't know that they clean the sites between guests. The camp store/office has everything you could need if you forget something. There are showers ($$) and bathrooms at the camp store. They were remodeling some of them while we were there. The free WIFI was hit or miss during the day, mostly miss. There were full hook ups, but the water pressure was low and the sewer is set at a strange angle and it was a little sketchy to dump. I think we were here during a slow time as one of the boat ramps was closed as well as a swim beach on the north end. The lake is extremely low so that could also be why they are closed. The nearest swim beach is about a 3/4 - 1 mile hike from the campground, depending where you are. I would consider staying here again, however the rate is a little steep, $68 a night and you have to pay for the showers. It seemed like most of the RVers staying here were in large Class A motorhomes and large 5th wheels. In the end, we had a nice time because we had a good site and the campground was very quiet.

This is a huge park with marinas, picnic areas, store, hotel, group camp area, as well as 2 distinct camping options (old and tired vs fancy FHU areas). We came here without a reservation on a Sunday in mid October. It looks like even if you have a reservation, you have to stop at the entrance and get your site assignment? I can't imagine how they would do this on a busy long weekend. We camped in the tent/self contained RV section (not sure why you have to be "self contained" when you are camping with tenters, anyway . . .). My guess is that these 4 loops were the original NP campground. They are tired and need some improvements, although the restrooms were nice. Most sites are not level and the pavement is eroding away. Their website says that they can accommodate a few RV's with a max length of 30' in these dry camping loops. We knew that going in, I told the employee that we were 30ish' (actually 42' overall), she hesitated and said they have very few sites that length. Well, in my walkaround observations, there were over 50 sites that could accommodate us, most being pullout style sites. Our site was pretty large, mostly sandy with a fire pit and an old picnic table. Be aware that the dump station was a bit tight on the inside entrance.Others have described the RV FHU sections, they were very nice. Flat, landscaped, resort like. Loop C was the best laid out and had concrete pads. All these sites were reserved on a Sunday night. We enjoyed our stay, lots of things to see, lots of places to walk.

There's also a great dark sky at night which we've enjoyed every night. The bathrooms are clean and the store staff is helpful (although not overly friendly). The sites are paved and level in the full hookup loops. This park mainly gets "weekender" traffic, so expect more noise Thrs-Mon.The Bad: I do not recommend this park if you are trying to work! The wifi is unreliable unless you are sitting up at the camp store, but the tables up there are pretty full during the day which then drags down the bandwidth. At our site and with a WeBoost, we had 3 bars of Verizon 4G but only had decent bandwidth/throughput from ~6am-10am. Luckily we work east coast hours so got in at least a half day of work without frustration, but the afternoons were iffy. By Thursday afternoon - TERRIBLE. By Friday - DON'T PLAN ON WORKING! On another note - don't have packages/mail sent here as it's very challenging (if possible at all; I'm short one package upon our departure even tho the USPS had delivered it...) to get them to you. Next, the park is expensive, plus you also have to purchase a pass just to get in & out of the Glen Canyon National Rec Area during your visit (or have a National Park Pass). Even though we've enjoyed relaxing outside in the evenings, I would not return to this park. Partly due to COVID summer, there is VERY LITTLE TO DO in this area even though it is beautiful. We did rent a boat one day to explore the lake but that's all there is to do right now. Working conditions are bad, people in this park and even in Page are not friendly, packages are lost, restaurants are closed, etc, etc. I really hate negative reviews and rarely leave them; I prefer to share positive things with my Campendium brethren! However, after a week here I'm soured on this place regardless of the beautiful sight outside of my window :(

Place is awesome large spaces. Clean, close to water and bathrooms are clean. The WiFi is terrible so don’t think you can stream or work from here. The staff are nice and friendly. Only 30 minutes from horse shoe bend. AT&T full LTE, not full 5 G so nothing streamed, you can receive text and calls that’s it.

Granted, the view was wonderful and the campgrounds were neat, modern, and clean. But no hot water in the bathrooms. Shades of old national parks. Showers available only next to the campstore. Another fee. $2 for 8 minutes. That is if you have the special tokens. Our luck? The token machine was out of order. GRRR. And the campstore closes at 4:00 pm. Altogether, it felt like a big rip-off. For $92, a whole lot more is expected. Go get a hotel room.

The registration area had good parking for check in. They had a small store with a few camping items. I would recommend you get groceries before you get here. There was a laundromat. I used my own detergent. Very close by is a parking lot to get down to a Long Beach on the lake. It’s also close to the resort if you go on a boat tour which we did. Would definitely come back here even though it’s a little pricey.

We had an easy pull through site in Loop D. The check in was easy with nice parking lot for big rigs and trailers. But they ask for license number of trailer, so be prepared. There is a small store with a few supplies. Buy groceries before you come in the park. Page is not too far with large grocery stores. This campground is in a national park so you have to pay, unless you have a senior pass. There is a nice large beach just 1/4 mi away, with parking and a pathway. There is also a large boat launch right next to the campground. We took a boat tour to Antelope Canyon and really enjoyed it. The campground is expensive but I think it’s worth the cost.

If you're camping with a self-contained rig and want access to boating on Lake Powell, this is probably a good place, but the rest of us it's not that great. It was a stop over for us on the way to Utah and frankly I wish we'd found another more modest place that was better maintained.

This is probably one of the worst sites in the park and we found several that are similar. Seems if you book online and use the 55+ discount, you are put in the lower loop. The lower loops “F” and “D” have these awful side by side sites. Oh, and you don’t get to pick a site - the park simply assigns you a site. Saving $5 a night with the discount was NOT a deal. If you have any say when checking in, we would recommend Loop C (site 25 and 26 look great), then Loop B or A and last and least Loops D and F. Note Loops D & F have a couple of decent back-in sites!Water, Electric and sewer all worked fine. WiFi is slow. AT&T was nonexistent and Verizon came and went even with a booster. The lake and several sunsets were magnificent. For the price, I just expected a better site.

There’s a grocery store in town and a laundromat in the campground (we didn’t use it so I can’t comment on it other than it being available). We also went on the Canyon Adventures Boat Tour which was fantastic and available through the same company that runs the campground. The weather was rainy during our stay, the boat tour gave us the ability to explore Antelope Canyon, Navajo Canyon, and the Glen Canyon Damn without hiking into a slot canyon with the risky forecast. We also hiked out to Horseshoe Bend which is a must see if you head to Page!

This year we finally brought the camper out. The campground is huge and the sites are very nice large concrete pads. So big, I could fit the 32TT, boat and truck on the concrete pad. The bathrooms were clean, but not the cleanest we have seen. The shower house weren't used because they were not conveniently placed for us. Plenty of space between you and your neighbors for a campground like this, however I thought the views should have been better. Our view of the lake was lacking in my opinion. A little more than I like to pay. But, with that being said... it's right there at the lake, a very nice grocery store and the site was large. I don't think you could do better in the area!

Additionally, you're just down the road from the Glen Canyon visitor's center, the Glen Canyon Dam, Horseshoe Bend, and all the awesome hiking opportunities in the area. If you're traveling through Southern Utah, chances are, you are going to route through Page, and this is a great place to stop when you do.As long as you land a spot in loops A, B, or C, you will have fantastic spacing and privacy. The other loops aren't terrible, but the rigs tend to be much closer together. There's lot of vegetation growing and the loops are terraced into a hill overlooking Lake Powell. Lovely views, huge sites, lots of space between RVs... Just wonderful.I was able to request a site online and request one of the loops we wanted, but you don't book your exact site. Luckily they gave us what we asked for though. Customer service was friendly enough and we appreciated that we could receive our mail at the campground.Internet access was the one big downside of this campground. Verizon and AT&T were crap and the campground's wifi quickly became overloaded in the evenings. It was workable during the day, but useless at night. This got real frustrating after a while since we use the internet for just about everything we do. If they would upgrade their wifi, this would be an absolutely perfect campground. This is a true standout campground offering large private sites with lots of vegetation, great views, and nice sitting areas, all in a highly sought after location. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to others traveling through Page. The only thing that wasn't great was their wifi. When you're in a dead zone like Wahweap, having decent wifi is very important and should be a priority. If they would invest in this one area, the campground would be perfect. It's definitely not cheap, but at least you get what you pay for.

There were no full hook up spots available when we made reservations about 1 week in advance. The hook up spots look super nice with level concrete driveways and depending on the loop are closer to the water and the general store. But our spot on loop 4 still had fabulous views- we could see the water, the rock formations and Navajo mountain in the distance during the day and had great star viewing at night. It was however not level- in fact it was our first time using our leveling blocks in a month and pretty much everyone in our loop was on someThere is a camp store that has most of what you would need but at prices higher than the grocery store- we mostly used it to buy popsicles as we were dying from the heat. The showers are near the store and registration and are air conditioned which is nice. The laundry is also in this area- but with only 6 machines and 1 broken and hundreds of campers there was always a line so we ended up using the laundromat in town instead. The majority of campers were in rental rigs and only staying 1 night and a good portion of them were foreign. We usually like to make friends with the neighbors or talk to people who are more local about what to do- there was none of that (we got all our intel from the boat rental guys and they guy at the boat launch ramp instead)Cell service was weird- with our AT&T phones sometimes we would have 4 bars fast LTE, sometimes a few bars of perfectly functional 3G and sometimes no service or 1-2 bars of edge. There was no pattern and it could change at any moment. Our Verizon hotspot regularly read with 4G signal but functionally was sometimes fast and sometimes slow. There is also WiFi across the resort that we were able to access from our campsite but once again sometimes it worked great, sometimes it worked slow and sometimes it didn’t work at all. Most times one of the three was working but you had to constantly switch back in forth. Also I highly recommend you plan some kind of activity that gets you on the water and into the lake!

The campground was full for a few days and still it didn't feel like it was packed or crowded. Could be due to the heat too, everyone was at the water or inside during the hottest times. The spaces are large and have a nice landscaping around the site and throughout the campground. There are paved sidewalks that meander through the many loops and down around the marina and beach. We stayed in the full hookups loop A due to the heat being in the triple digits and ran the AC constantly. We never experienced an interruption in electricity. The bathrooms were clean as was the campground. The wifi can be accessed from the campground store/laundry. We rented a speed boat for the day at the Wahweap marina and enjoyed exploring the lake. We also used the laundry facilities. The visitor center for the dam is just a few miles down the road as is the Antelope Canyon Tours and Horeshoe Bend. Powell Lake is amazing and right in front. We had a nice side view from our site. The campground is managed from an outside contractor for the NPS. The website was easy to manage, quick confirmation via email, site # distributed upon arrival. Jr ranger programs offered over the weekend in the campground. Would definitely come again when the temps are lower.

The views from our site, the swimming beach, the store, the laundry, all exceeded expectations! I could have stayed a month! It does blow a little that you have to pay a $25 entry fee to what does not feel like a National Park but it's worth it. Worth it more if you stay longer.

A,B,C are much larger sites and none of the parking lot feel.FHU, no cable, no OTA but park wifi was excellent compared to typical park wifi. Cell service was weird for me. ATT data = 1mbps d/lATT voice = 4 bars but unable to use toll free numbers (which shot work conf calls)Verizon data = mostly 4g (6+ mbps d/l) but the last 3 days of my stay it would toggle into 3g (1mbps d/l) on both phone and jetpack. So again, not very reliable for work screenshares etc.T mobile = 2g (too slow to stream)There are great hiking trails nearby. Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon is a must. The hanging garden trail up the road is also awesome. Dogs are allowed pretty much everywhere except for Antelope Canyon. This is a doggie heaven.Site accessibility (Very easy to navigate, wide roads) - 5Campground location (Directly on Lake Powell) - 5Nearby amenities (Onsite small camp store. Our first time here was in the summer of 2015 and it was about 105 degrees. We cut our time short to find cooler temperatures because it's just too hard to keep the RV cool enough in that kind of heat. The resort was kind enough to refund the remainder of our stay. We knew we would want to come back again at a cooler time of year and March turned out to be a great time. It was definitely cooler and also much less crowded because it's still the off season. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our site A3 was a large pull-through with beautiful views of the lake. We work remotely and need internet access where ever we are. Our Verizon 4G worked okay; it was pretty slow but still usable. We enjoyed visiting the Glen Canyon dam, Horseshoe Bend and Lower Antelope Canyon. As a fulltime RVer it can be hard to find a place to get my hair cut and colored on the road. I went to Ava Bella in Page and would highly recommend it.

We loved the views and the ability to go for morning walks to the Laken Powell. You can also rent kayaks/boats pretty easily if you want to explore the lake by water. Enjoy!

It's about 5 minutes from Glen Canyon Dam, 10 minutes from Page, 20 minutes from Horseshoe Bend, 30 minutes from Antelope Canyon, and 45 minutes from Lee's Ferry. Staying here made our daily outings manageable. Though right along Lake Powell, it's about a half-mile walk to the lake's beach. Terrific lake views are found in some sites, but ours was mostly blocked by other, larger RVs. You can't reserve the exact site you want, but they do take requests. You pretty much get what you get when you arrive, though. Most driveways are very long, so bigger rigs would have no problem fitting here. The hook-ups are nice, and the restrooms are bright and clean and have running water and flush toilets. They were cleaned daily while we were there. There's a camp store with essentials and souvenirs if you need or want anything. Though full, it was a very calm and quiet campground during our stay.We had no cell service (T-Mobile) and their Wi-Fi is spotty and pretty slow. Not a big deal to us, but if you have work to do it could be difficult or frustrating.

The sites are really nice (pull thru, full hookup, 50 amp, clean). Great view of the lake. We stayed here because we wanted to see some of the things around Page and knew that we would not be disappointed and we were not.

  • Great location, a bit pricey, and full hookup sites vary in quality.

The Wahweap Campground is very large, with around ten separate camping loops. We enjoyed our stay in B19 in the full hookup section, which includes A, B, C, D, and F loops (there is no E). We enjoyed our stay in B19 in the full hookup section, which includes A, B, C, D, and F loops (there is no E). Loops A, B, and C are older have more of a "campground" feel, with large sites and good spacing with some privacy between them. There are back-ins and C-shaped pull-throughs in this section. They are terraced, with A being closest to the lake and lowest in elevation, and C being farthest but highest. Loops D and F appear to be newer sections and are laid out more like a commercial RV park, with straight rows of RVs, smaller sites, and little privacy. The pull-throughs in D and F share utilities between adjacent rigs, so that your driver's side is right up against your neighbor's driver's side (they're facing the opposite direction). We don't like that layout at all and are glad we were not in one of these loops! I'll upload photos of B and E for comparison. The entire place is very clean and well maintained. They offer free WiFi but it was very slow. Verizon LTE worked well, and while AT&T was limited to 3G, it was still very fast. The campground store has the basics, but it's only a few miles to the Safeway and Walmart in Page. If you don't have a National Parks pass you'll need to pay a 7-day park entry fee since the campground is inside the National Recreation Area. If you do have a parks pass, remember to take it with you when you go into town! We asked at the store if we could receive mail and packages and while they said yes and gave us the address to use, we had some issues. We received UPS packages just fine, but our US Mail delivery made it to Page and was immediately "returned to sender" due to "invalid address". Our dog loved swimming in the lake every day, and since the campground is so large we found plenty of places to walk him. Unfortunately every walk included a few stops to pull thorns / cactus spines out of his paws. Overall we were very happy with the campground, though we did find it to be a little expensive. If we visit the area again we'll definitely stay here, IF we can get a site in A, B, or C loops.

I watched as the old timers in their retiree mobiles gazed jealously as we clunked on in, our old and then quite beat up Airstream leaking freshwater about the park. I got us setup, began working on getting the old girl boondocking worthy...and they surrounded us. "What year is that?" "Boy they last forever," and "That's an Airstream, right?"I've heard the questions a million times. I don't tire of it. But it was in a mad rush here, and though I realize the momentary nature of any park's population, I will forever recall this one as having the nicest fellow campers. A mildly long walk to the water, which seemed very low, was incredibly rewarding. Big red rock cliffs and tan rocky beaches. Save for the price tag, we'd've stayed longer.
