The roads are broken down, uneven and poorly patched. I actually had a bad fall there. If you have walking issues rule this place out immediately. The trees are overgrown and the bathrooms are clean but nastily dated - poor shower heads and bad drains...We boon-dock a lot and have a basic level of expectation when we pay. This definitely fell short. We were doing a pull through one night park and drive. The site was uneven and we had to level. Beware we did not feel completely comfortable with questionable long term residences. There are many places to stay in Flag - do yourself a favor and find someplace else, we will. Staff was very nice - that was the only positive.

Grocery store and liquor store across the street. Lot of in-and-out traffic, looks like most other campers used the campground as an overnighter. WiFi did not work; either there was no internet connection at all, or the speed was less than 2 Mbps. All but one of the washing machines was working (~5 were broken) so we went to a laundromat in town. There were some great trails accessible directly from the campground.

Stayed in site 155 was pretty level, FHU, but did not have cable. Power to the site was very good (123/124 volts). Did not see much of a drop in the power while running electric heaters. Campground was busier than I thought it would be. Decent Verizon signal. Able to talk, text, search the internet, and stream videos. It did slow a bit in the evenings. Did not use their wifi and did not check out their bathrooms. I wouldn’t mind returning to this campground in the summer when the weather is better. Staff were out plowing the streets in the campground and removing snow from in front/behind campsites.

She had me go down a road to my site marked one way. It made it difficult to back in as the site was meant to come from the other way. Other guests were so inconsiderate of me backing in. I had to stop several times to allow them to walk behind me. Who does that? Young adults everywhere. They were the majority. Restrooms and showers were packed with people getting ready. Restrooms were unkept and long hair all over in the shower. I like to think this was not a normal time and maybe like everywhere else they are short staffed. I would stay again to give it another chance.

Here on Campendium it was quoted $30 but it’s $50. But compared to other prices and facilities around town it was the cheapest. Nice trees considering the surrounding desert has none that was a big plus, as well as it being quiet which was welcomed since I-40 is busy and noisy.

Amazing hiking trails just steps from your site. There was a really nice brick patio outside with a picnic table and patio furniture. They also provided a gas grill, propane tank, propane fire ring, full hook-ups : sewer, water, cable, 50 amp electric. If you have dogs this place is VERY pet friendly.

And this one while very conveniently located off of I40, and with lovely very professional staff at the front desk, falls very short on maintenance and upkeep. The sites were gravel/dirt and quite unlevel. We paid for a “premium” spot with “patio and picnic area” and it was unusable, due to the upheaval of the pavement and bad condition of the older table and chairs. The sewer hookup had no cap with only a rock propped inside it to block the debris falling in. The campground was pretty full even in snowy conditions in March, so it seems they need to channel some of those proceeds into some serious maintenance and makeovers at that price.

We had never tried a KOA before and were very favorably impressed. The bathrooms and showers were clean, warm, and comfortable. Plus free wifi with strong signal! The office staff were very friendly and helpful, and careful to mask-up for COVID. We liked it so much that we stayed in some other KOA's on the rest of our trip, and learned that some are less scenic and have less space between campsites. Flagstaff KOA is especially nice. This campground is lovely. The sites are super close together which I am learning to expect from KOA's, but the bathrooms were clean and the park had a lot to offer. We were pleased to learn how the park backs up to an awesome wilderness area with hiking trails. If you can afford to splurge on one of their premium sites with a patio, I would recommend it as those looked really nice and comfortable. This was our first time experimenting with working remotely from the road. This campground does have free wi-fi, but I found it was very slow and difficult to use if you are working. I connected my phone hotspot and had zero problems after that. Phone service is strong and reliable. You will definitely need to level your rig as the whole campground is on a little bit of a hill. We chose a pull-through site with full hookups and it was very easy to access. The dog park is in the front of the park and was really nice. This KOA is very conveniently located. We needed a couple of things and there is an RV Country store one mile down the road. It is a straight shot down the road to downtown Flagstaff. We will stay here again!

The KOA is built on a natural slope, so individual sites will not likely be perfectly level. Bring you leveling equipment; not an issue for us. Amenities were fine; electric, water, sewer. WiFi was slow in the evening hours; but that is the nature of public WiFi. Bring other options if that’s important to you. We stayed 4 nights; if staying multiple nights again would consider getting an upgraded site with adjacent nice paver patio with BBQ and portable propane fire pit. We’ll be back. Love the area!

All other CGs in Flagstaff were not yet open in mid-March. We ended up being satisfied with our stay, but mostly because we were some of the only visitors. Our back-in site was surrounded by trees, yet close to the bathrooms. The bathrooms were a bit dated but worked fine and, most important, were well-heated during a winter storm. Laundry facilities were being renovated during our stay, which was disappointing since we intended to do laundry, but it's nice to see improvements being done. Our utility post had some issues (electric was cutting out) but the office sent over a technician promptly to address the problem. Office staff was friendly and helpful. Shopping and various destinations (national monuments, Lowell Observatory, etc.) were very close and convenient. This park worked great for our needs, but if we were visiting in high season, we probably would have hated it. It offered the worst of both worlds: the extremely narrow drive lanes, prolific trees that made it hard to maneuver, and unlevel spots reminded us of public parks, but without the scenery and privacy. Instead, the somewhat random arrangement of sites in the back-in area left us with close neighboring sites outside literally every window. If the park were full, we would have absolutely been crazed by the lack of privacy. Also, it's an urban park with plenty of noise from trains, passing ambulances, etc. The dump station was a complete mess (hard to access because od weird placement of the sewer access, did not drain properly, weirdly unlevel so hard to drain tanks, not equipped with rinse hoses, etc.).The park was safe and friendly, but not our favorite environment at all. As an in-town park, cell service on AT&T was flawless.

Perfectly located for Grand Canyon exploring.

Great place to stop. Clean sites, friendly staff, but narrow drive ways for big rigs. Also our picnic table and fire pit were on such a slant at our site we couldn’t use them. We got to see a lot of flagstaff by staying here.Laundry: Yes, big room, $1.25Kid Friendly: Yes, bounce pad and play groundDog Friendly: Yes, dog run

It's mid-November so we didn't need to, and can't imagine this place filling up. There must be over 150 sites here. Variety of sites for various sizes of rigs. We are a 15ft trailer and could do a back-in site, which is cheaper than the pull-throughs. Our price of $38.84 was for back-in spot with only electric and water. They have an interesting kids playground, a dog park, and a family room. Showers and restrooms are descent. The KOA was easy to find, convenient to grocery and shopping, excellent Wi-Fi, and laundry on site. Camp store sells local beer (A+)! Cell service is on point. The Grand Canyon is about 1.5hrs away. Met expectations, wish it was more affordable for longer stays.

Though we prefer parks or campgrounds a little more off the beaten path, all the campgrounds in the area are closed for the season and we had to escape the unseasonably 90-degree temperatures in Phoenix last weekend! So we made reservations and off to Flagstaff KOA we went. The KOA is located right along 89, close to Sunset Crater and Walnut Canyon, Fort Tuthill, Fort Valley, and Lowell Observatory. Super easy to get in and out, though the dump station doesn't face the road so you need to do a U-turn to dump. It wasn't difficult, but it also didn't seem too efficient. It wasn't a big deal for us as it wasn't busy when we were leaving. The campground is right along the road, so you do hear the road noise and see the cars and lights. The friendly staff in the office certainly keeps busy as campers arrive all day, and many were leaving every morning. The campground was about half-full while we were there, but I imagine it can get pretty crazy in the summer. In addition to RV spots, there are tent sites, cabins, and cute teepees you can reserve. They have two playgrounds for the kids, horseshoe pits, and even more activities from Memorial Day through Labor Day, including a kitchen that serves breakfast, bounce house for kids, etc. Year-round the office has free coffee from 8:00 am to about 1:00 pm.Our back-in site was really nice because it was on a corner and had extra space under the pines. It also backed up to the horseshoe pits and playground. I could watch the kids play at the playground out of the Airstream's back window while I cooked dinner. Very convenient. We had electric and water. I think you might be expected to share the electric with the neighbor, but he didn't need electric so there was no need to share. The water spigot had two connections in order to share also. Not all sites are as private and large, though. Quite a few are pretty close to the neighbors, especially in the full hook-up, pull through sections. Our site had a grill and picnic table. We brought our own fire pit. Ground fires are not permitted. The bathrooms were mostly clean but busy. One of the women's restrooms was being renovated, which left only one available for use. There were some lines at the showers, but I suspect by summer that at least one of the restrooms will be fantastic and brand new! :)So close to town, we never lost service. We had no problems with the free wi-fi either.

It was quiet despite being close to a major road and they had good hot showers, laundry facilities, a general store, place for kids to play and a dog area. They even serve breakfast!I thought the roads were too narrow and I drive a 22ft class B. On top of that you have to share your hook ups and so you either must get there first, have a converter or buy one (though the staff did offer to let me borrow one for the night). Also, we were on a decent grade. All in all I was a little disappointed by my first KOA but in general it's a totally solid place to stay and the campers seemed to honor the quiet hours well which was nice. After talking to a KOA employee at another site I think that this is most likely corporate v private ownership.

Well maintained site. Quiet at night. Used shower, laundry and dog area- all well maintained. Does have tight corners with rocks and trees that add ambiance but would be difficult for a big rig.
Fine....nothing special.

The avoidance of KOA’s is intentional. It’s not my idea of camping. Rather, to me it is a mini version of living in an overpriced and overcrowded suburb. My husband and I are new to living full-time on the road and had been camping in the National Forest just outside of Flagstaff when he got called away on an unexpected business trip. I decided I’d feel safer staying at an RV park rather than the middle of the forest on my own. This is how my first stay at a KOA came to be. Did I feel safe? Yes. This place is busy, REALLY busy! It killed me to pay their insane prices so I settled for a lower tier spot - crappy view (see picture of the brick wall and the neighbors trailer home that was my view) and no cable. At night it was quiet, though during the day I could have done without the neighbor’s incessantly barking dog.For those with a big rig, I’d stay with caution. The campground appears old and not built for big rigs - yet that doesn’t stop them from coming. Each time I walked my dog I got to see some poor guy white-knuckling it trying to navigate his way around the narrow roads, large rocks, trees, poles and trashcans that are constant from the time you enter to the time you exit. The place was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly. The laundry was reasonably priced. The one thing I LOVED was access to the trails just outside the park.

The Flagstaff KOA was the first RV Park we ever camped in. The first time was in 2005 and most recently 2012. It's a little expensive, though it's well maintained.
