With full services, you’re in the back row, but it’s still an amazing view of the surrounding mountains and sea, because it is not a big campground. The shower is $3 for 6 minutes, but it’s a great shower and very clean. There is only 1 shower, so plan ahead, if the campground is busy. The owner Joyce is a gem and so is her camp host. This campground is walking distance to town and many of the main sights, so it’s very convenient. 2 grocery stores in town: IGA is right in the middle of town and the Mountain Market (organic and healthy foods) just a couple of streets from Main Street. We had drinks at Fogcutter and met a whole bunch of locals. Even the mayor hangs out there! Great town and great campground. As we were leaving, we realized we had a slow leak in our truck tire. We asked if they knew of a place to get it fixed…and yes, it got fixed by the campground owner, right next door. We were on our way within 30 minutes. That’s what you call full service! Thank you.

Park staff are courteous and helpful. The view of the bay from the park is quite spectacular. The park itself is essentially a rectangular gravel lot. One side of the rectangle, the side opposite the bay, has full hookups. The rest of the park is just a gravel parking lot, dry camping. Parking is very tight for the sites with full hookups. All of the full hookup sites are back in, rear of campers facing a road, though the road is not too busy. There is a place in the office with clothes washers, dryers, and a shower. Views of the bay for those camped in hookup locations can be blocked by other RV's camped closer to the bay. Dry campers will tend to run their generators so that can add to the noise.Cell overage is not great, slow 3G at best. They say when the cruise ships dock service slows to unusable. The best aspect of this campground is the spectacular view of the bay. When camping here you might consider dry camping in order to secure a location with direct unblocked views.

This is a small campground with back-in sites only, full hookup. All sites face the Lynn Canal with fire grates and picnic tables in front of the water. The sites are pretty tight as seems to be the norm in Alaska, but the living area in front feels spacious and the view is beautiful. The street (not very busy) is right behind the RVs, so there is a little traffic noise. The location is terrific, next door to the small boat harbor, and walking distance to downtown Haines (not a very big place). They offer cable, and have a small laundry (two washers and two dryers), rest room, showers, and a mechanic shop on site. The owner is very helpful and nice and takes care of her guests. WiFi is available for a fee, it is the city WiFi. Verizon signal was good, but data performance was variable, so we paid $18.95 for 7 gigs for 7 days and it was very fast.Nearby is the Visitor Center and several museums. There is an IGA three blocks away, not a very big one, but pretty good. There are several restaurants and shops around, hiking, kayaking, fishing and other activities. There is a little grass around the property for walking doggies and the State Park is nearby also.

I would give this campground more stars if I could! Each site has breathtaking views of the water and mountains. We camped here in June, 2013 in a 35 foot fifth wheel. The rate shown is the 2015 rate from on their website.Joyce, the owner of Oceanside RV Park, is the best owner or campsite host we have ever had in our nine years of RVing. From the moment we arrived she went out of her way to make us feel welcome and make sure we enjoyed our stay. We were there during Dungeness Crab season and Joyce arranged a crab boil while we were there. After going down to the dock to pick up the crabs fresh from the boat we learned how to clean them. The crab boil dinner was delicious and was one of the highlights of our stay. This is a small park with only a few sites so reservations are recommended. All sites are back in with full hookups. Amenities include Wifi, laundry, cable tv, ice machine, and showers. It doesn't matter that the sites are close together. There are picnic tables and fire rings set up in front of the sites along the bluff so everyone can enjoy the views. Each day we enjoyed whale watching right from the campground and saw several during our stay. We also enjoyed watching the ferries and other boats going by. While enjoying the views we often had Bald Eagles fly over our heads. The boat harbor and the town of Haines are within walking distance of the campground. There are many interesting shops, a grocery store, and the Hammer Museum in Haines. State Parks, a seafood cannery, Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, and Fort William H. Seward are just a few of the attractions in the area. One day we took a wildlife cruise on the fast ferry to Juneau.Wildlife is abundant around Haines. We saw plenty of Bald Eagles and were the only ones in the campground who didn't see bears! To get to Haines we took the Alaska Ferry from Skagway. When we left, we drove up the Haines Highway.
